Chapter 4

As I was lost in thought while Leo leaned in closer I could smell his musky cologne. The scent electrified my senses. His grip on my shirt on my lower back grew tighter. When he was mere centimeters away from grazing his lips against mine I saw a glimmer out the corner of my eyes.

Then as if it was a scene from a movie a man appeared out of the shadows. He did not look like he belonged here. His hair was dark and shoulder length and he wore cloths from another time and branded a sword to the left of his hip. The man looked no more than twenty years of age and yet his silver eyes seemed to hold an amount of wisdom as if they've lived for hundreds of years. He looked like he stood tall in the short distance that separated us with broad muscles rippling down his arms. He was breathtakingly beautiful.

I did not know this man but for some strange reason I felt a connection to him.

"I've finally found you my love," Whispered the man.

Leo abruptly turned around when he heard the man speak. He had not seen the mystery man prior to him speaking. Leo grabbed my wrist and pulled me behind him." Who are you!" Leo commanded rather than asked.

"It is not I who needs to answer to the likes of a mere mundane" the man said with a essence of authority.

A flash of anger went across Leo's face, he immediately started to advance towards the mysterious man. At that very moment the man disappeared. Next he was standing right near me. He placed a hand on my shoulder. I felt a shock of electricity run through me. As he gazed into my eyes with his silver ones I felt lost within myself unable to speak or move.

"My beautiful love how I've longed to gaze into those eyes," he said with devotion in his voice.

" I don't understand," was all I could muster to respond.

"In time all will reveal itself, but for now just know I'm not like my father." The man said.

Before I could respond again a large flame came towards us. In a flash I was no longer standing where I was but a few feet away and the man had disappeared.

Leo came running to my side. I stood there in a daze while Leo was shouting something at me and shaking me vigorously.

"Ali, Ali are you okay, I'm so sorry I wasn't trying to hit you, I promise I was aiming at him.

The last part of Leo's statement caught my attention and snapped me back to reality. I was aiming at him is what Leo had said. Did he mean the fire ball that came at us, that's impossible, I must be losing my mind. This must be what all the psychology books talk about a pure mental breakdown. It's official I must be bat shit crazy. That's the only thing that makes since, people don't appear out of no where and people don't throw fire balls, impossible this is hallucinations.

"Ali I think we better go inside now I think your in shock,"Leo said with a calming tone.

Leo grabbed my hand and slowly guided me up the front stairs of my house. I followed feeling as if I was walking in slow motion, the nights events consumed my thoughts. Mr. and Mrs. Randell are you awake I need to talk to you!" Yelled Leo as we entered the front door.

All the lights were on, which I didn't pay much attention to knowing I had missed curfew my parents must have waited up. The lecture that was soon to follow would only gloss over me as tonight was still reeling in my mind. Had I really imagined what had happened just a few moments ago? Was I more drunk then I had thought?

The next thing I knew my parents were running towards us with the Anderson's right behind them from the kitchen. How odd I thought to myself, at this hour my parents don't usually have company, even if it was Leo and Becca's parents. If this night couldn't get anymore strange.

"Leo what happened to Ali?" Daniel roared.

"Oh darling your white as a ghost, and you feel so cold." Said Rose as she placed a hand on her daughters forehead.

"We were outside and then this guy appeared out of nowhere," said Leo, " I think he portal here from Calstonia."

As I looked around the room at all the worried faces gazing back at me I couldn't fathom what was going on. Again I must be hearing things, did Leo just say the man must have portal here and where the hell is Calstonia. My head began to ache. I rubbed my temples in frustration.

The Anderson's and my parents huddle together discussing something, all I could hear was them saying my name over and over again. Leo came to sit next me on the couch while the parents had their discussion. He grabbed my hand and started caressing it with his fingers. The sensation sent chills down my spine in a good way.

"How are you feeling now Ali," Leo said with such gentleness.

" Can someone please explain to me what is going on, I feel like my head is going to explode." I said to Leo frustrated.
