Chapter 5 - The Classroom

{{Hello readers (if there's any), the writing style will change after this one. I will be adding a 3rd POV for narration as to what's happening in the story, however, I will still keep Melt's POV in so that we can know what's going on in his mind as well.

One more thing, on some chapters, the author's notes will be "poems" to give off little puzzle pieces. It's up to y'all what you'll do with 'em. I hope this didn't break the story too much. I wanted it to feel as close to the original without the consistency and content looking too rushed. Well then, Thank you all once more for reading!}}

My situation is bad. Really bad. Behind me is a person that throws bombs as a specialty and a really strong-looking girl standing on the exit door.

I may end up dying here. But seriously, what the hell is up with these people? Are these students? If so, then holy shit I think I ended up in the wrong school.

Also, that gust of wind earlier, it was super strong that it pushed me down literally! Where did it come from? Nothing makes sense right now and I wanna escape so badly.

Gotta make a run for it!

- Melt stood up and took a stance. He was ready to run away. He realized the person that used the grenade earlier took quite a while to catch up to him, so he initiated a plan. And it seemed that the girl standing in front is idle, so if he took her by surprise, he could successfully run away and hide.

If I'm just fast enough, I can... probably escape through her.

- He bends his left knee down, puts his right hand on the floor, and quickly, pounced from his place to another. He was going upstairs because that's the only exit out of the underground so whenever he lands, he gets on all fours, like a monkey or an ape. The girl did get surprised, only a little. However, she didn't move an inch from her place.

I'm almost there! I can make it!

- As soon as Melt touches the same level of land with that girl, another powerful gust of wind entered from outside and brutally blasts Melt back to the place where he started. When Melt turns her gaze unto her, he realized something bizarre.

Did that wind... come from that girl?

- Melt and the girl looked each other in the eyes. One filled with fear and one was filled with bloodlust.

"Good job, Raku! He must be weak from that fall, Quaza, call someone and take him down! I'll call Net."

"Okay, got it!"

"Geesh, do you really need that much for one person? I could take him out by myself."

"No! I know what you'll probably do to him. He's already down. No need to do anything else but keep him in that place."

"Tch! Pussy."

- The boy who had a grenade in his hand took out a radio in his pocket and started contacting Net. As soon as Melt heard his voice, he was very almost instantaneously had the urge to shout out for help. But at the same time, his doubts of trusting him was pulling his voice back. Also if he thought about it, getting thrown out would be a better idea than death.

I wanna shout for help, but it could be better for me... to just give up and get peacefully thrown out.

But... Why did I come here in the first place? Was it because I was desperate and helpless and I needed a caretaker? Was it because I was curious and wanted to experience a new life?

"Do you remember what happened to you?" Melt suddenly called back to a memory of him and Net talking about his situation on Sedaya.

"If you need anything, press the button on wall above that wardrobe, that way I can talk to you, okay?"

Everything's so sudden. Everything's so annoying! I'm scared as hell, I might die, the grenade guy's talking so much, that girl's eyes is incredibly condescending and scary! I wanna end this facade.

I just wanna know who I was...

- Melt finally decided. gasped a lot of air inside him. He needed to be as loud as possible.

"NET, PLEASE, FOR CHRIST SAKE, SAVE ME FROM YOUR DUMBASS STUDENTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

That shout echoed throughout the hallways underground, I hope it did the same outside.

- Indeed, it was a very loud shout. It was heard throughout at least a hundred meters in his area. Which may or may have caught the attention of various other students.

"Hey Star! What happened?!"

"This guy just screamed and shouted for Net's help."

The blue hoodie guy came back along with a new student. If she's also dangerous, I might as well give up now.

- Quaza, the boy wearing a blue hoodie, returned to the place where the scene is happening along with a girl that had green hair and green horns. She was rather short and she seems to be on guard like the grenade guy in the yellow jacket named Star. Melt thought he could not stretch this situation out any longer and had decided to just give up.

*sigh* It's not like I have a chance here anyway.

"I, I give up-"

"mmmMEEEELT!"

- A voice from the distance can be heard gradually getting louder as the time passes. There running on the distance was Net. Even though Melt doubted him, his face showed genuine happiness when he heard him calling his name.

"DO NOT DO ANYTHING TO HIM!!!"

- Net stopped and remained at the entrance of the underground, tired and sweating from all that running. He looked around and saw and realized, it was a pretty bad situation.

"Oh god. I should've introduced you first... Everybody calm down. I know it's a pretty weird way of introducing a new classmate, but, everyone, let's welcome our new student, Melt from planet Sedaya!... Ughhhhhhhhh! Everyone, it's 10 am, get in the classroom so that I can disclose even further information and all that stuff... Melt, you stay behind me. Can you walk?"

"Yeah..."

- Even after his announcement, everyone's suspecting look remained the same, but they did listen. While Net guides Melt to the classroom, Quaza, Sluxy, and Raku quietly follow them from behind, and Star remained and looked around to call his fellow students. Melt was still scared, so he couldn't help but look back and be cautious around them.

"Melt, it's fine. Let me tell you this so that you wouldn't be nervous for any possible events that may come. Melt, everyone here is unique. A very bizarre way of unique, but not in like, a bad way or anything. That's why they're all enrolled here in the first place. And the answer to why I offered you to enroll into the school is because of that very reason alone. You are unique. You'll find out later what I'm talking about."

- They finally arrived at the classroom. It was rather small compared to everything in the underground. It had a wooden roof and a wooden floor with open windows so that air can enter. It was actually a rather cool place.

Huh. This place is small and compact. It feels safe...

"Melt, you go sit in the last chair over there. Is that okay?"

"Yeah, it's fine."

I'm a bit more calm now, after everything that happened. I'm still scared, but I feel better if Net's in front of me.

- One by one, students of different faces and vibe enter the classroom. They all seem surprised when they saw Melt's face. But they remained silent about him to avoid any kind of scene. Melt did the same. Star was the last to enter, and finally, they can begin.

"Alright, it seems everyone's here. Okay everyone, take your seats, I have an announcement to make. As you may or may have known, we have a new student. His name's Melt, the little fox that's sitting behind every one of you. I apologize for that scene earlier. I didn't think it would escalate that much, you know."

"Ah... It's fine... Hello... Hi everyone. Sorry about that... as well..."

Oh god, I forgot how awkward I am with talking!

Everyone's looking at me please stop.

"Alright Melt, I'll be introducing you to each of the students here one by one, okay?"

"Alright."

- Net introduces each student in the class one by one to Melt, in seating order.

1st up, Star. The kid in the yellow hoodie. Just like Melt, he has fox ears and a tail. He has brown hair and eyes. He specializes in machinery and explosives. He's also the school's technician.

Next is Quaza. He wears a blue jacket and he has blue headphones on his head. He's very close to Star. His communicative skills are quite convenient and are supposed to be the handler when it comes to deliveries in the school.

Sluxy. She's a silent girl that only speaks when asked or needed. However, she is not shy. She is very fashionable and is very polite. She is often the one who takes care of the garden.

Yume. She's very active and she often trains on the gym and the field at mornings. She's also very smart and attentive.

Lation. A demihuman. He has white/light blue fur. He's a very intimidating guy that specializes in all kinds of medical science. He has his very own clinic which he stays in most of the time underground. He is also the school's doctor.

Ace. Ace is also a demihuman. He has blue fur and wears a white long-sleeve T-shirt. a very timid guy that hates the sun. He often sleeps in class despite having good grades and he's active at night playing games in his room. He's what we call a "gamer."

Kyra. She has golden, kind of messy hair and she has 2 different eye colors. Her left eye is blue and her right one is red. She's the most social in the class. She often roams around the school to kill time when she's bored. She's also a very good fighter, one that's specialty is knives.

Raku. She wears a lot of bandages around her chest, hands, and feet. She often wears an unzipped hoodie whenever she feels cold. Said to be the most ruthless at school. She's very tough and is very strict about her personal space. However, she is also the bodyguard of the campus, keeping it from harm.

And then there's Melt. Strengths are unknown, specialties unknown, talents, capabilities, still unknown. Even he himself does not know. Right now, he is surrounded by various scary fellows and is confused about everything, since every event went too fast for him to even process it properly.

But he knew, as long as he is there, he would eventually find out someday about his true identity. He just knew.

"Alright everyone, since Melt is new, let's give him a lesson that's only for him just so he can catch up. Now, everyone, for our lesson today... Let's talk about Demons."
