When Aiwass woke up, she realized she was lying in Miss Beyard's arms.
Their posture was quite strange.
Miss Beyard had taken off her shoes and was sitting on the soft couch in the tavern's private room, her back against the cold wall. The Shadow Demon had already retreated back into Aiwass's shadow.
Aiwass lay in her arms like a rag doll, her slender waist tightly embraced by one hand, and her head resting on Miss Beyard's chest. Miss Beyard had also tucked in the leg that was on the outside, bending her knee slightly to block the girl lying on her from rolling off if Miss Beyard happened to fall asleep in a haze.
Although the Son of the Moon was a body resurrected from death, it was not an undead being. Different from the Shadow Demon's touch, which felt like the cold sharpness of winter iron, Miss Beyard's body was quite warm.
