Edgar's story

My name is Edgar and i am the half brother of Linden. my mother is lindens mother but my father was the kings general. the kings general was also the kings brother. my mother never wanted anybody to know this so she concealed it. at the age of three as i began growing up, the king began noticing how the general would meet my mother often and how our features were similar. he had sent spies to my mothers palace to spy on my mothers actions. the spies then bribed other maids for information and got the information. the maids had told the spies that my mother had had an affair with the general and how i was the child of the general and not the king. the king was furious with this and demanded that his brother the general was beheaded. as i child i could do nothing about this.

the king never gave me any attention, whether was his child or not . at the age of three the king had barged into my mothers chambers and raped her. he was the king and there was nothing she could do to oppose of it. i could hear my mothers dreadful cries as she begged him to stop. a maid had seen me and grabbed me aside, she brought me far away from the scene and told me not to speak aa word of this. i was traumatized and couldn't speak at all.

when i was four. my mother gave birth to another son, his name was linden. after linden was born everything changed. the mother that would sacrifice her life for me left left me to rot at the cold palace. i was taken cared of my maids and there were nights when we weren't given any food and were left to starve until the following night. Linden had never faced any hard ships in his life and had everything he wanted while i was just a prince by title.

one day, when i was seventeen i was allowed to attend my younger brother's 13th birthday. he had received a bow by the emperors father. after the banquet we went out to ply with his new bow. Linden had tripped and accidentally broken the bow. as i was trying to lift him up a maid saw me and went to report to the king that i had pushed linden to the ground and that i had also broken his bow. both mother and the emperor were furious with this and demanded that i would be given 100 lashes and starved for three days.

at the age of 22 i was allowed to move into the main palace. my room was on the first floor close to where lindens room was. i had heard that linden was to be wed to a beautiful woman called Lilith. i knew that linden was a spoilt child that got everything he wanted and how he was seeing lady Martha. i knew that he wasn't going to meet the young lady so i decided to meet her instead. as soon as she stepped out of the carriage i could see that her eyes were red and swollen meaning that she was crying. i knew that she didn't want this arranged marriage. she had the most beautiful honey brown eyes. i knew that if she became my woman then i would have been able to take down linden so as the years went by i began to strengthen my bond with her. she was the most valuable pawn in my chess game. but as our bond became stronger i began falling for her.
