A new friend

the maids and the head butler walked in front of me and prince Edgar, they were directing me to my new room. i was quiet but the first prince started talking "don't sulk my lady, my brother is a kind hearted man, he wont hurt you. you are a beautiful and talented girl and I'm sure he will learn to love you" "i hope so" i replied. he then gave me a cheeky smile and i couldn't help but smile back. at least he was the only friendly one here.

we arrived at my room and the butler opened the two large double doors. the room was humongous and extravagantly decorated. i was amazed by the beauty of the architecture. "this is your room lady Allendale, i wish you a happy stay at this palace" stated the butler and with that all of the maids and himself left. it was only the first prince and me left. "I'm sorry my lady-" and i stopped him right there "you can call me Lilith, i don't mind" i said "well Lilith, i didn't want to disappoint you earlier but my brother never asked me to come to greet you, i came on my own accord. truthfully my brother doesn't even care about you, he said that coming to meet you was a waste of his time" said Edgar. suddenly i felt something pull in my heart. "i understand, there's nothing to worry about your highness" "oh you can also call me by my name, i also don't mind" and with that Edgar left.
