A LESSON

When I got home I saw Eric sitting at the dining lost in thought. I stood by the side looking at him for a while, what could make Eric this absent minded except for video games.

"Hi" I said sitting close to him.

"You back?"

"Yeah I just did. What's up with you"

"Nothing"

"Whenever you say nothing there is something"

"I broke up with Mary today" he said after resisting for a while.

"Is that why you are like this, for that bitch?" I asked getting pissed off.

"Nah, she doesn't worth my time or anything I just have a lot on my mind"

"Finally you decide to notice that she is a bitch. Anyways I made this soup for Dax since he made me do it, want some"

"You cooked soup for Dax?"

"Ahhh yes, is there something wrong with that"

"Brianna you have never cooked before, ever"

"So?"

"That means whatever you gave Dax must have been very terrible"

"You think I would cook for him if I don't know how to cook. I took some online tutorials so relax and have a taste. You should be happy I let you be one of the first people to try my food"

"Okay, okay, bring it on then" I went over to the kitchen brought out a plate and ditched out the soup for him. I waited patiently for him to taste the soup, and when he did I become so conscious waiting for his reply.

"What do you think?" I asked him after allowing him to take a few spoon out of the soup.

"Not bad sis, not bad at all. You know you should save some of this for mum and Dad"

"What, so mum can turn me into the next chef of this house, hell no I aren't doing that"

"You aren't doing what?" Immediately I heard my mothers voice I froze at the spot. She is not supposed to know about this.

"Hey mum, you are looking super duper cool this night, and I love your dress" I said, I don't even know why I said that.

"Brianna am just in my nightwear, why are you so tensed. Whenever you start complementing me like that then it means you have done something wrong"

"What, hell no mum what can I possibly do?" I said laughing nervously.

"You can make a good soup that's what you can possibly do" Eric said.

"Shut up Eric" I said and sighed in frustration.

"Did you just say your sister made a soup?" Mum asked getting interested on the topic immediately.

"Yeah she did, here you should try some" Eric said placing the plate of soup close mum who had a suspense in her eyes.

She hesitated for a moment before taking a sip of the soup. I know she taught it will taste bad, that's the only reason she was hesitating from taking it.

"Wow, sweetie this is awesome. I can't believe you made this, I mean you never joined me in the kitchen for ones"

"Well I took some online tutorials and here I am"

"I can't believe my little baby girl is really growing up so fast" my mum said cupping my cheeks and pressing kisses all over my face.

"And guess what mum?"Eric said out of the blue, what else does this snitch have to tell on.

"What?" My mum asked as she continued drinking the soup.

"She made this specially for Dax"

"Are you serious?" My mum asked now pushing the food aside as she kept looking at me waiting for explanation.

"Eric, why do you have to be a snitch?"

"Answer me now young lady" my mum said hitting the table.

"Fine, earlier today at school Dax got into a fight because of me and he ended up with a bloody nose and I had to take responsibility for it"

"Oh my God, is he okay?" Here we go, she is no longer the lecturing mum but the concerned one, oh boy.

"He will pass, the doctor said he needs to take his medication and rest. He also mentioned about eating healthy and Dax had me cook for him as a punishment"

"Wow, Dax got into a fight with who?" Eric asked.

"Who else but Jake"

"You mean the guy that didn't show up for your date?"

"Yes mum you don't have to state it out"

"Well I don't know who he is but I have a lot to say to him for making my cute pie wait for him all night"

"Mum that's enough, am tired so good night"

"But you haven't even had your dinner yet"

"Am not hungry"

"Okay sweetie, good night" my mum said kissing me goodnight before I went to my room.

Eric's POV

I couldn't tell Brianna the full story because I was scared. And if Brianna gets to know that Mary insulted Gia about her Mum's death, Brianna will surely find Mary wherever she is at this moment and will probably kill her.

"I will just warm up the remaining soup for your dad, is too bad Gia won't be able to taste this" my mum said.

"Yeah, she would have love it"

"You know Eric, I want you to protect Gia like you will do with Brianna. She doesn't have anyone, just thinking that she has never experienced what it feels like to have a mum, is really killing me so treat her good, okay?"

"Okay mum"

"Is better you go get some rest, I will wait up here for your father"

"Night mum"

"Good night sweetie" she said pecking my cheeks. I went up to my room feeling angry about everything.

Not being able to do anything when Mary was on her and everything. I will have to tell Brianna about this or if she figures it out herself then am a dead meat.

Gia's POV

I woke up this morning in a complete mess. I drank so much beer last night. Eric has officially rejected my feelings, I wanted to cry but I just couldn't find the tears.

Ones again I got rejected, I walked into the kitchen and found a drug placed on the dinning table. He did get the drugs yesterday, I have been sneezing like hell since I was so angry I didn't bother to my drugs.

I dressed up for school and came down for breakfast but I had no appetite. I just stared at the pancake with the milkshake sitting in front of me for a while then head out so I can catch up with the school bus.

I didn't bother waiting for Brianna since I really don't want to meet or talk to anyone so I decided to take a taxi.

I just hope she won't miss the school bus while waiting for me.

Brianna's POV

I can't believe Gia did this to me, I missed the school bus while waiting for her. I was so worried I had to go to her house, only to be told she left already.

Getting to school I went in search of her, how can she do this to me? I went up to our class but she wasn't there. Maybe I should check the library. She wasn't there either, where could she be?

I was still walking around looking for her when I met Eric near the school cafeteria. He has a small lunch box with him.

"Since when did you start taking food to school?"

"Brianna I have been looking everywhere for you"

"Well, am here"

"Yeah can you help me give this to Gia, it will really help her with the cold"

"What do you mean by that" I asked him so confused.

"Gia didn't tell you?"

"Tell me what?" I asked but Eric went silent on me. I figured out immediately that he was hiding something form me.

"Eric, start talking, now!"

"While we were going home yesterday Mary made me stop to get some ice-cream for her so I left the both of them alone for some minutes"

"You what, don't tell me Mary laid her filthy hands on her"

"No she didn't but she might have said a lot about Gia's mum" immediately he said that I felt my anger boiling.

"What did she say to her?"

"Brianna please don't go there I will deal with Mary myself"

"What did she say to her!!!" I wasn't about to take a shit from anybody. So this was the reason why I haven't been able to reach her all throughout the night and this morning.

"She said Gia killed her mum and that she was a curse" I turned immediately without saying any other word and went in search of Mary.

Why don't we figure out together who is a curse, how dare her say such word to her. I heard Eric calling out for me but at that moment I didn't want to listen.

I walked up to her class looking for her, she was busy chatting with her friends when I found her.

"How dare you, who the fuck do you think you are?"

"What is your fucking problem this morning Brianna, why can't you mind your own freaking business"

"What did you just say?"

"I said fuck off, your brother broke up with me because of that bitch so..."

I didn't let her finish what she has to say before dragging her by the hair. She kept screaming in pain and tried to fight back but I was holding her hair so tight that she couldn't move.

Let's see who is a bitch around here, I dragged her by the hair all the way down to the filed. I made sure I fed her some sand and grass before Eric carried me away from her separating us.

"Let me go Eric, I need to kill that bitch"

"Brianna stop this madness right now"

"Eric let me go this instant"

Gia's POV

I was sitting at the school garden, actually it was at Brianna's favourite spot when I heard noise. I Wondered what was going on so I went to find out.

Heading down the school hall way I heard students talking about the big fight between Mary and Brianna.

I quickly rush to the crime scene only to find Eric holding Brianna from attacking Mary who was looking like she just saw a ghost.

There was bruises all over her skin including her face. Her hair was mess and her mouth was filled with sand.

"What's going on here?" I asked as all eyes turned on me.
