The End of Day One

He went and washed his hands that were covered in blood. There was some blood on his armor which he also tried to wash out. He punched the wall opposite it. These people seem to think lives are just sport. This continent just brought out the worst in people and they don't even recognize it themselves.

After he was done, he made his usual trip to grab a Fanta, but for some reason, all sense of taste and desire left him. He was completely and utterly disgusted with himself and everyone around him. He decided against having another Fanta and went to sit down. After a while the ref showed up, "He will live, but I think you might have traumatized him."

"Tell that to him after he did the exact same thing with that girl."

"I told him the exact same. The girl, believe it or not, is awake, and seems to be doing fine."

"Then He will also be fine."

"Only thanks to the advanced healing on this continent, and of course those with the really rare healing abilities. You are pretty psychotic. Perhaps have that checked out."

"Tell that to everyone else on this continent. I literally was left with nothing when I came here. Everything was taken. I had to fight tooth and nail to get here, so don't go telling me I am a psychopath when what that bastard did was way worse all for the sake of a show…a fucking show. Spare me your asinine comments."

"Then why did you even bother taking part?"

"Money, as I said before. I had nothing, and I had to make do with what I was able to find."

The ref nodded and walked away. He only nodded out of curtesy. He could tell that Radley was a broken individual.

Radley went back to his seat. The usual suspects weren't sitting next to him. Must have moved away. The tournament was still underway. It looked like a girl had just won the bout as the other man surrendered. She looked exhausted, must have been a pretty grueling fight. The ref pointed her towards the medics as the announcement was made, "And the victor is 'The Rose'!"

So that was going to be his next opponent. The next match was underway which Elita took easily. The battle thereafter was won by a man called 'The Whisperer'.

The girl was known as 'The Rose'. Came walking back looking rather refreshed. Must have been some healing, impressive.

She laid her eyes and Radley and walked towards him. He scanned her. Lv.1, Nina, motivated nature.

She sat next to him, "I ain't gonna die if I sit next to you?"

He noticed a mild accent in her voice. Good looking girl, with a larger built than most women, "No, I don't bite."

"Tell that to your last opponent…"

Radley sighed, "He had it coming, call it justice or whatever."

"I will be pulling out of the match against you. I hope you aren't offended in any way or another."

He smiled, "Truth is that's a godsend. I rather not fight the opposite sex."

"Well, that's not insulting at all.'

"Wait, I didn't mean it like that. Call it chivalry or whatever. I don't really know. I just grew up as the only male in the house, and I vowed to look after them…"

He trailed off stoking his own memories. He shook his head, "Can I at least ask your reasoning?"

"Yeah, I am honestly terrified of you. I thought that I would have had a chance against you when you fought… can't remember his name, the one with the twin swords. You looked beatable back then but after your previous match. It seemed you were holding back all this time."

Radley closed his eyes and opened them, "My abilities are meant to kill, and that's why I can't really use them in battle. Level ones would be dead if I were to go all out. I really don't want that."

"It seemed you used it against uuhm… 'Black Mamba' was it?"

"I used that under extreme control. Basically, all I did was turn my fingers into bullets just so I could break his armor."

"It means you are versatile as well. Yeah, I rather not die, even if it was accidentally."

He nodded, "It's your choice at the end of the day. You might miss out on a quick 3k."

"I've got a cool sponsor. His pretty well off, so I don't need the money."

He nodded. She stood up and left after she waved goodbye.

The matches came to a quick end as announcer chimed up, "That is all the spectacles we have for you today! Come back tomorrow for the Semi-finals and the Finals and see who would walk away with the three thousand! Will it be the Loner or the Rose!?"

The people made started to make their way out of the Arena stand.

Radley couldn't believe what he just heard. Noooooooooo! He had to wait one more day before he could pay off his Axe'

Man, he made it sound like it was a done deal. He had a look at Elita's skills. They were top-notch, if he wasn't careful, he was going to get his ass handed to him.

He smiled to himself and stood up making his way out of the arena himself. He stopped. Maybe he should just go check up on those two. He kind of felt bad for what he did to Darnell.

He sighed and made his way back to the medical room. He found Darnell speaking to one of the Medics. He had been drinking something through a straw. Something piqued his curiosity. Darnell's nature had changed, which flummoxed Radley. It was now humble. Trauma can do that!? He walked over to him. He gave Radley a genuine smile, "Ah, I thought I was going to have to chase after you."

"You look like a changed man. What happened?"

"You really need to ask? You opened my eyes, man. I had to use all my strength to speak with…uuhm Rita. Yeah, that's her name. And apologize. I fucked up, I know it. I am just glad you didn't rip my heart out, literally. More than that, it the fact that you opened my eyes to the vastness of this world." He placed a fist on Radley's chest, "There is no bad blood from me. I just hope you can forgive me."

"Did she?"

"She was pissed…and terrified of me, but I told her what you did to me. She kind of wants to see you now. Just know that you got a mate in me."

Radley nodded, "I am glad you learned your lesson. I just hope you can keep it up."

"Before you go, could we become…uuhm travel partners?"

"Sorry, not to be rude. It's just that I have a rule of thumb. Never make connections."

He waved at him as he left.
