As I drove back from the bookstore, Officer Swan pulled me over. "Asalam O Alaikum, Mr. Bee! Beautiful morning, isn't it?"
I smiled, taking down the mirror. "Walaikum Asalam, Officer! Yeah, it's a lovely day."
Officer Swan noticed the book in my hand. "What's that?"
I handed it to him. "It's a book by Imam Ahmed Raza Khan Barelvi, a great scientist and scholar. His work on contradictions of some well-known scientists' theories is fascinating."
Officer Swan's eyes widened as he read the title. "Oh my God! 'A Fare Success Refuting Motion Of The Earth'? I've heard of this book! It's a masterpiece!"
Suddenly, my head began to spin, and I screamed. "Ahhh!"
Officer Swan looked concerned. "Are you fine, Mr. Bee?"
I smiled confidently. "Sorry, Mr. Bee who?"
Officer Swan's expression turned stunned. "No! No!... It can't be... Ala Hazrat?"
I looked at him calmly. "Oh, please don't call me that. Just call me Ahmed Raza."
Officer Swan shook my hand excitedly. "Big fan, sir! Big fan."
But then, I looked around, confused. "Okay, umm... can I know where I am?"
Officer Swan's expression turned serious. "Oh God, we should go to the therapist, now! Come on, sir."
At the therapist's office, Dr. Sofia examined me and pointed a torch at my eyes. "Are you kidding me? I'm a great fan of Imam Ahmed Raza's work, both religious and scientific. None has matched him till now. Albert Einstein? Huh, his 100,000 copies can't even make one of his."
Officer Swan burst out excitedly. "Yeah, right?"
Dr. Sofia continued, "Okay, now as far as I have understood, Mr. Bee is now capable of turning into characters that existed on earth at a time. And as far as I have understood till now, he is right now just in half character or shares half characteristics of Imam Ahmed Raza, not all his characteristics."
Officer Swan nodded. "He must have already known where and how he was!"
Dr. Sofia pointed her finger at him. "Bingo! Also, my research tells me that these characters won't last long. He'll soon recover. We have to ask him whatever we want till the next half hour or you'll miss the chance of asking anything from the most genius scientist and author of more than 1000 books."
Officer Swan and Dr. Sofia asked me questions about my work, and I explained my theories and contradictions of Einstein and Newton's work.
As the session came to a close, Officer Swan asked, "Sir, it was so proud and nice meeting you. Any last message you want to give us?"
I smiled. "Well, I'll say, you should research, you should always research, and remember focusing on the work more than focusing on getting credit. And remember, like Sir Ziauddin Ahmed, the mathematician, offered me to try for a Nobel prize when I solved his most difficult problem of mathematics. Remember, I refused it. You may not, but getting that should not be your purpose but to serve your religion."
As I finished speaking, my head began to spin again, and I lost consciousness.
When I came to, I was myself again, confused and disoriented. Officer Swan was jumping around excitedly. "It was the greatest day of my life! I met him! Yeah! Thanks, Mr. Bee, thanks God, thanks."
Dr. Sofia smiled, hiding her amusement. "Wow, such a big fan you are, just like me!"
As we left the therapist's office, Officer Swan and I exchanged pleasantries, and he dropped me off at my place. It was a day I would never forget.
