Strommistress IIII

The wait for our food was short. Within 10 minutes (or one flirt) Ahchul came back juggling 4 plates on his arms, his hands wrapped around tree mugs. With trained motions he placed our orders in front of us. The fourth plate contained only leftovers and meat scraps. Ahchul sat it down near Venosas plate and winked.

"For the slithery mistress."

The huntress nodded thankfully. Like she had understood the waiter's words Blackey slid down her master's shoulders and began to eat from her plate.

"Thank you", we said in unison. He left with a bow. We wished each other bon appetit and started to eat. The sauce and the mashed potatoes were very good, the vegetables were seasoned perfectly. Back home we didn't really have condiments besides salt and pepper and even those we only used rarely. I really enjoyed my meal until I took a bite out of my stew. At first everything was fine. The meat was good, a bit minty and easy to swallow. After I had gulped it down and continued my meal, sweat started to run down my forehead. Heat began to build up on my tongue and throat. At first it was a slight tingle, but as i continued eating the sensation transformed into pinching into a burning pain.

"You ok Nothol", Skarra asked, looking at me with a slight grin on her lips. I nod and take a huge sip out of my water, but unlike fire that only spread the pain throughout my whole mouth. Tears form in my eyes. Sticking my tongue out of my mouth I breathe in and out, earning a giggle from Skarra and Venosa. After a few moments the sensation passed and left me panthing.

"What was that", I asked.

"The card said spicy… you do know what spicy is right?"

I look at the huntress.

"Full of spices?"

My answer earns me another round of giggles. As the two explain the concept of spicy food, Lupus enters the tavern and comes to us.

"Hmm, that smells truly malevolent", he said, pulling the fourth chair back and sat down. The hunter now has two blue eyes, a few scratches covering his face and his left leg had limped a bit. Venosa shot him an empty look.

"You want something?"I asked, trying to get rid of my remaining potion. Spicy was not my thing.

"May I."

I shove my plate in front of Lopus.

"Dig in"

The hunter began to eat the meat with great appetite, "hmms" and "yummys" escaping his lips while he ate. Venosa had finished her meal by now and began to drink the mead. After taking a huge glub she asked:

"How was your roughhousing?"

Upon her question a smile spread on the hunters lips.

"Truly breathtaking. I learned quite a bit from that brawl."

"Guess not starting brawls with random people and letting them beat you up isn't among those things?"

Skarra asked, provoking a giggle from Venosa.

"Seriously Loups you are 0-2 today."

"6-2 you mean."

"Birds don't count."

Lopus mumbled something unrecognizable.
