Stargate Command. Earth.
It was somewhat of a risk to go to the SGC with only a few of my bodyguards, but there were times when you had to take chances like this in order to make a big profit and a deal with Earth could set me up nicely in this galaxy. The SGC must have information on hundreds of worlds and with that knowledge my influence over this galaxy would grow very quickly.
I recalled what happened to one of the group's of advanced humans in this galaxy, how they were given gate coordinates to the worst worlds around, I think they were called the Aschen, and so I'd talked to the Ad-Mech about creating an off world base somewhere and using that world's gate so that there were would never be any direct travel to or from Thrax III, as we were now calling the world we'd taken over.
That way should the SGC decide to screw us over we'd know who did it and while I could not simply take my fleet to a version of Earth and bomb the crap out of it I could land troops and expose the existence of life on other planets, causing a panic and contact nations to offer them advanced weapons, keeping the USA out of any trade deals.
Sure they had a couple of space ships, but those ships didn't have Asgard weapons yet, so they weren't a big threat to my fleet and the Asgard were too busy dying as a race to do much about us Imperials.
However I'd rather work within the system they had set up so I could get what I needed from Earth and hopefully not have SGC teams getting in my way. Compared to the Ori or the Wraith, they could invade this galaxy if events changed enough, Earth didn't concern me much, not when it should be a simple matter to get the IOA on my side with promises of powerful technology and perhaps wealth. I did still have some gold and a bit of naquadah coming out of the mines.
As it turned out the Goa'uld settlement on Thrax III had been set up on the single largest deposit on the planet, but it wasn't the only one and nor was naquadah the only thing worth digging up on the world. I got a fraction of all the profits from such mining ventures.
I put such thoughts aside for now when I was introduced to members of the United Nations Security Council and Homeworld Command rather than the IOA as expected. Along with some generals I shook hands with five people who were members of a multinational Council who had some influence over the SGC. They were emissaries from the nations of China, France, Russia, the United Kingdom and the United States of America, who were the major nations that made up something called the Stargate Alliance. They must be some early form of the IOA I figured.
While they all wore business suits or military uniforms of high ranking officers I'd come dressed in fancy regalia suited for a noble of the Imperium, although thankfully more subdued and tasteful than what some Imperial toffs would wear to such an important meeting.
I'd brought all three of my wives with me. Daenerys was still a great beauty even after birthing three heirs for me, and she wore something that showed far more skin that was suitable for such an event, and given how many old men were in the meeting room this could serve as an advantage to us Imperials.
Sarah Lyons-Thrax didn't show anything as she was in full body armour and no one from the SGC had been foolish enough to request that we disarm so I knew that if things went pear shaped that she could kill everyone in this room in short order with her plasma rifle. Something I found rather comforting.
Miranda was also here, looking as good as ever in her bodysuit. She was already taking notes, given the way her brilliant mind worked it wouldn't surprise me at all to discover that she was making note of the layout and defences on this place in case we ever needed to attack it. Not that I had any intention of trying to pacify the SGC, but it was good to have a plan prepared just in case.
"So will the deal I'm offering be made between the entire planet or just these five nations?" I asked the Terrans.
I could tell that this question made a few people feel awkward and I could understand why. Since the US Airforce controlled the gate they could control any deal made with a policy from another world that travelled here via the gate.
"Currently the USA has the only means of reaching other worlds" said the British council member "It's going to take time for the nations of Stargate Alliance to build their own ships".
I'd suspected as much. And it made sense for me to remind everyone how unfair that was.
"Not a problem" I replied "I can deliver direct if the price is right and I have plenty of shuttles that can easily land on a world".
While I wouldn't give them any details of my fleet I didn't mind them knowing that I had ships as it would make them act more respectfully.
"We'd prefer not to have any unknown spacecraft entering our atmosphere," said an American Airforce Officer.
I acted as if I was confused by those words.
"Wait so your nation speaks for all the others?" I asked "I thought you had an Alliance?".
There were a lot of looks getting exchanged and a few people making an effort not to look at each other. Good to know that the Alliance had its problems as such things could be exploited.
"I don't suppose it matters" I was now saying "Although it might make delivering the defence lasers somewhat problematic given the size of the gate".
They'd have to assemble the defence laser themselves. Something the Ad-Mech wouldn't like and if this weren't a version of Earth, which made it somewhat holy in the eyes of the Imperium, they would even be willing to let me sell Imperial tech to the nations of this world.
Lucky for me Earth still wanted defences beyond those of the Ancient Outpost in the South Pole. I'd not forgotten about it and it was another good reason not to start a war with this version of Terra since even if I could bombard it, which I couldn't, those drones might blast my ships apart.
"To start with, let me show you what we have in terms of hand-held energy weapons that we are willing to sell," I said.
07, my bodyguard who looked like a young Jeri Ryan, came over to the table and rested a case upon it. She then opened the case to show some models of laser rifles. Having some samples to share would make a good impression, this I knew from experience and showing was better than telling when you want to shorten a meeting that could last for hours.
