It didn't take long for Mays and his companions before they were summoned to the throne room by King Sikacak. Without anything better to do, Mays and the rest followed their guide leisurely toward the throne room. Already waiting inside the throne room were five people in total.
King Sikacak was seated on his throne while at both his side were his little sister Princess Manissa and his fiance, Comel. Behind the three of them stood two veteran guards holding their spear like a statue.
"Far... far away..."
"Behind the rainbow..."
"Beyond the rain..."
"Greetings, godkin."
One useless line after another muttered by King Sikacak before he abruptly ended his random lines with his greeting. It left Mays and the rest dumbfounded as they looked at each other's face, unsure of how to react. Only after the king's last line made them realize that the king was actually extending his greeting using his own unique way.
"Greetings, elf king."
As if they had an agreement beforehand, Mays answered the king while the others kept their silent. Mays acted normally as he held no good will nor animosity toward the elf king. If it was an elven queen, he might show some reverence but a king? He wouldn't bother. He was after all a proud man himself, he wouldn't just lower his head easily in front of others.
"Where is your manner, humans?"
One simple sentence was then uttered with overly domineering manner by the king. The king was ticked by Mays's display of attitude. It was also obvious that the king had the intention to intimidate these so called godkin to show his superiority. But too bad the one in front of him right now was Mays. He wouldn't flinch even if a bazooka was pointed at his head.
"I left it at home. I never know you want some."
WIth his usual tone, Mays replied to the king mockingly. There was no trace of respect at all in his tone and mannerism. He couldn't be blamed for it though. The king left a bad impression right at the moment when he tried to intimidate him.
He was Mays, the man who lived like a fleeting cloud. If he felt like it, he could easily be polite and show respect but if he didn't, no king could force him to do so. King Sikacak and Mays stared at each other in the eyes as they tried to read each other's mind.
"Kneel before me!"
Still seated on his throne, Sikacak imposingly released his aura as he tried to forcefully make Mays and his party kneel before him. Prior to this, Sikacak had only seen messengers from the godkins which were their spirits. Those people were at the level of gold ranked intermediate bosses.
He thought that godkins would surely be beings on par with him considering how strong their servant was. He was disappointed when he saw Mays and the rest as he could only detect the same level of power from these godkins with their servants. After Mays's show of disrespect, he had a valid reason to use his power to forcefully suppress these godkins.
"This kind of behaviour, it's quite discourteous yourself no? "
Without backing down, Mays argued back.
"Royal brother, this is not what you said earlier! These people saved me from the goblins."
Princess Manissa was restless as her gaze alternated from Sikacak and Mays. On one side was her brother while the other one was her saviour.
"You shut up, Manissa! Kneel down, humans!"
Having refuted by her brother, Manissa was now at a loss. She stole a glance at Comel but she just shook her head signalling her to give up and stop trying to mediate. This matter was between those two and it was not their place to interfere.
"This ungrateful asshole!"
Unlike Ria who was still calm, Hallel already brought out her great sword from her space belt. She was ready to fight against this conceited king. They had literally helped this bastard's little sister yet they didn't even offer a simple thanks. How rude could someone be?
"Calm down, Hallel."
"Tch."
With his hand grabbing Hallel's shoulder, Mays's usual tone magically calmed the enraged Hallel. She put down her great sword as she stared dagger at the king. Ria was quite shocked because Mays's current action defies her comprehension of him. She knew best that Mays would never back down. Apologizing and enduring was never in his vocabulary either.
"Mays?"
As if sensing something was about to happen, Ria who stood beside Mays noticed the corner of his lips curving upward. She knew for sure Mays was up to something indeed. He was not Mays if he didn't act domineeringly like he always did.
Unexpected as it might be, Mays who stopped Hallel from starting a fight earlier leapt forward by himself with both his sword unsheathed. Almost everyone inside the room was frightened by that sudden change of situation.
"Heh."
Sikacak smirked. He easily parried the attack with his saber. Nobody noticed when he grabbed his saber but he managed to parry Mays's blade with it. Right at that moment, both the guard moved forward as they tried to flanked Mays from the side.
"RIa, Hallel. Take down these guards."
"Right away."
"im tired of waiting hehe."
Even before Mays gave out his command, the two girls already rushed forward as each of them targeted one guard specifically. At the same time, Comel rushed toward Mays and attacked him together with the king. An intense clash between two insane bosses and Mays commenced right away.
Maybe because the two elves were still in human form and they didn't use all their power, Mays by himself actually managed to exchange dozen of moves against them head on. Mays's spirits were all watching the fight as their eyes shone brightly upon witnessing their master's grand display of strength.
"Drasca, go play with that beautiful lady over there."
"Your word is my command, master."
The small dragon flew away from Mays's shoulder before it transformed into a gorgeously beautiful young lady. Without exchanging words with her target, her sharp nails elongated several meters before she used it as a sword and slashed down consecutively.
The king's fiancée, Green Empress Comel was no pushover either. With her saber, she parried all incoming attack without breaking a sweat. She was indeed a strong gold ranker, one who would someday rivalled the top twenty ranking for sure.
"You! You... What are you doing here?!!"
This time, it was the king's turn to be shocked. His handsome face was pale and twisted. Who was he? He was a mortal ranked exalt. A strong fighter who was revered by many. As proud as he was, he wouldn't be such a fool not to recognize others who was stronger than him.
The woman in white gown in front of him right now was one of the few who was stronger than him. This woman was Drasca, one of five sky ranked exalt. She was even stronger than earth ranked exalt, let alone a mortal ranked exalt like him.
"Arara... You know who I am?"
With her alluring voice, Drasca replied to the king while she playfully moved her finger. Not even Comel noticed when Drasca's sharp nail was placed on her neck, prickling it a little. It happened in just a blink of an eye.
"What now, foolish king? Still wanna carry on with your senseless farce?"
With his crimson sword pointed at King Sikacak's forehead, Mays asked mockingly. The elf king could only grit his teeth in anger as he put down his saber as a sign of ceasefire.
------------------------------------------------------------
Black Dragon Chasm. The headquarters of King Hitam Legam and his alliance. This hidden chasm was located in the intersection of three adjacent dukedom. ColdBlood Dukedom home of lizard kin, SprintingTortoise Dukedom, the sacred land of shelled kin and PoisonCobra Dukedom which housed countless bloodline of snake kin. These three dukedom served the black dragon king with utmost loyalty since centuries ago.
King Hitam Legam was currently waiting for good news inside his chamber. His aide, Kelabu was at the side of the door, standing still like a statue. The king knew that there would be a great war on demon continent starting from tomorrow. Their action tonight would surely broke the stalemate which had been prolonged for five years.
Those ancestor from Ancient Demon Empire wouldn't just let the Black Dragon King's faction to rose into prominence without offering any retaliation. He knew those shrewd old demon way too well. They wouldn't surrender as long as they still had their last breath.
"Kelabu, do you think this is the right choice?"
"This servant didn't know either, your majesty."
Kelabu was after all no military strategist. If he was told to lead an army and march forward, he would gladly do so. But if he was asked to sit at the military commander spot, he would refuse right away.
"Even I am not sure myself. That kid Dominic, even if this plan of his failed and I myself was killed in the war later on, please ensure his safety."
"At the price of my life, your majesty."
It was rare for the black dragon king to show his weak side. It never mattered how strong he was individually, he still wouldn't be able to turn the tide of war by himself. Even the powerful great demon king was killed by godkins five years ago.
He had lived long enough. He wouldn't really care if he died in battle. At least, he died trying. One thing he would regret for sure was not being able to witness the rise of his grandson as he was sure that the kid would surely soar high up given enough time.
The black dragon king then shifted his gaze outside the window, toward the direction where his grandson should be. Nobody knew what he was thinking but he kept his silent as he fixed his gaze on that direction for a long time.
"Only MoonElf Dukedom left."
"Yeah. And it will be done soon for sure."
Dominic was now together with his father, King Hitam Pekat as they chatted leisurely. The atmosphere around them was merry as if their plan was already a success. At the very least, three out of four part of the plan was finished smoothly leaving only the last part.
Behind the two leading figure were several other gold ranked insane bosses who kept their silence as they walked together in a group. None of them dared to join in the conversation considering their own status which was considerably lower than those two.
"Ten gold rankers. I don't believe a mere MoonElf Dukedom can withstand a force that huge."
"Hahaha right. With your uncle there too, their chances of winning was low indeed. But still, your plan was always perfect. No wonder even your grandfather was impressed."
"Just a lucky thought, father. Nothing out of the ordinary."
Dominic chuckled as he heard his father's praises. He was quite elated but that was all. He thought that it was a given for his plan to be a success. Nothing extraordinary about it.
"Let's head back to our headquarters."
"Off to the Black Dragon Chasm we go."
As the night grew darker, more and more plot were revealed on every part of MoonElf Dukedom. A group of human assembled on top of an unknown hills beside a waterfall not too far from MoonElf Dukedom's border. On closer look, these people were not just humans, there were also elves and beast kin within their ranks.
The name of this place was Norlenta Waterfall, one of the most dangerous area in this dukedom. It was also the meeting location for the godkins as decided by Mays. This group of people currently present there were none other than the Misfit Squad and their spirits. A total of forty six people to be exact.
"You sure Mays and his companion already reached here, Dora?"
Monk Samat, the leader of Misfit Squad asked the overly excited girl in front of him. Dora the Ranger was unable to hold herself any longer when she realized that she would be able to meet two female idol at the same time. She never knew Golden Reaper was a female prior to this. Both Golden Reaper and Pink Demon were after all the only top female rankers of HeavesTale.
"It's true. Joyah's spirit which she left at the same road Kasimon took to came here already verified it. That crimson dragon could only be Red Wargod's favourite mount. Nobody dared to use that mount out of respect for him."
"That's true. Even back in HeavensTale, only he alone use that mount."
Samat nodded as he acknowledged that fact. As for the validity of the info, nobody dared to refute it. Joyah was after all a weird ranger who made all her spirits into rangers. Nobody in their guild had a better equipped ranger's spirit than she did.
"Twin Goddess of HeavensTale fighting over the same man. How lucky."
The lone knight Adol sneered. Both Hallel and Ria was famous in HeavensTale as they were both top player in the game. Now that they knew Hallel was a girl and she spent most of the time with Mays, it was normal for countless guy to be jealous.
"Hey, stop being jealous just because you can't get yourself a girl."
"Who says I can't!"
Bahar the warrior teased the young Adol. Adol couldn't even refute it since it was literally the truth. The other members of Misfit Squad laughed out loud at Adol's embarrassed face before they continued with their serious talk.
Standing not too far from them was Tomiran and Kasimon who observed them without saying anything. They were never fond of talking to these people anyways. Their only reason for being there was because Mays asked them to.
"Let's go to them. I believe the Red Wargod would have a better solution for our current situation."
"Yeah, that's the right choice indeed."
"Let's go now."
With how the situation had escalated out of their reach, everyone in the squad had been restless. San's order was now invalid as they had no ways to delay the war until the arrival of San and the others.
"Mount up everyone. Our destination, Capital City!"
----------------------------------------------------
"Master was soooo cool!! Mira loves it when master acted that way."
Mira's eyes was glittering as she couldn't held down her excitement. This was indeed the first time she saw how domineering Mays was even when he faced a stronger opponent. She was not present last time when Mays rushed toward the three insane bosses alone.
"Shut the hell up, Mira. Master was still in the middle of his negotiation."
"But... But... You also think so don't you?"
"Even if I did, I won't just said it out loud like you."
"Tch, hypocrite."
Indeed Syaitona also felt the same but she kept it in her heart. She knew when to be frank and when to be strict. At the moment when they were in the present of a king, how could she act casually like this brain dead Mira. She had to show how disciplined Mays's spirits was to these people.
"I... I also feel that master is cool earlier."
"He was always cool, but indeed he looks cooler earlier."
"Master is cool."
"So cool."
"I also think Sir Mays is great."
Syaitona was rendered speechless when every single one of her fellow spirits voiced out their opinion. It was normal for Mira alone to do that but it was rare for even the silent Silvia to do so. Not to mention Minerva also voiced it out. She was not even Mays's spirits.
She raged in her heart. In fact, she was the most excited among all when she saw Mays holding up against two gold ranked insane bosses. True they didn't use their full force yet the power they unleashed was already beyond normal godkins to fight against. Even she herself would not be able to take more than three moves let alone dozens of them. She gritted her teeth as her gaze shifted back to where Mays currently was.
"What do you want?"
The king was being frank. He knew that he was in no position to fight back the moment Drasca showed up. Not to mention that he knew about the other opponents which was coming for his head. Rather than fighting this unfavourable battle, he would rather settle things peacefully since there was no huge enmity between him and the human in front of him. As a king, his priority was always his subjects and not his personal matters.
"Heh, did you just learn some humility?"
"Whatever, humans. It's my fault and I admit that. So tell me what you want."
Rather than acting like a sore loser, King Sikacak admitted his fault. He was after all a proud and prideful elf. Princess Manissa and Empress Comel stood beside him as they stared at Mays fidgettingly. Both the guard from before was now on the floor after being beaten by Ria and Hallel. They were just a normal gold ranked intermediate boss, there was no way for them to withstand the attack from Ria and Hallel.
"Truth be told, I never had any intention of attacking you people. In fact, the godkins you might be planning on working together with should be someone I know. But alas, its fact that we crossed sword and you are the one who surrendered."
"Yes I know that. And?"
The elf king was quite restless when he listened to Mays spouting meaningless word. The more Mays emphasized on it, the more restless he became. He couldn't just thoughtlessly fight it out with him if he demanded something unreasonable. The most he could do was just to bargain for a better condition. Going against them was suicide just by the fact that Drasca was currently on their side.
"I'll be frank. Serve under me."
"What?"
"Be my vassals. I feel like conquering this world and using this dukedom as a starting point sounds decent to me."
"WHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTTTTT??!!!!!!"
This time, it was not just the elves, even RIa, Hallel and the spirits shouted at the same time. None of them ever heard Mays talked about this before. How come he suddenly planned on conquering the world? Just from where did he get this crazy idea from.
