Warcaster Of Misfortune

In a world where reality intertwines with a virtual realm, a man finds himself thrust into a game he once dismissed—an intricate web of challenges, quests of extreme difficulty, and encounters with creatures of overwhelming power. Fate, it seems, has a mischievous sense of humor, as our protagonist becomes the unwilling pawn in a cosmic game of chance. Will he find the peace he so desperately desires, or is he destined to navigate the realms of life and death in an eternal dance orchestrated by unseen hands? In this story, where even death may not be the end, the quest for serenity becomes a thrilling odyssey through the uncharted territories of fate. ------- Writer's note: If you guys are reading this story then I must confess that I am both proud and embarrassed. As long as I can remember, I have had this great love for the litrpg and virtual reality genre (yes, sadly the motivation is lit by Sword Art Online). Still, over the years I find myself reading more and more about real fantasy, with a logical plot and realistically written characters, this story is my sole attempt to get back to my old book taste, a webnovel of non-stop fighting, lots of rpg numbers, less descriptive graph, mostly conversation and sound effect.

Conclusion to Quest

Five Days later.....

I finally made it back to the city with the corpse of the Cyclops well at least its head. I chopped it off since it was too big to move. From my looting a gained a fair number of its bones and flesh as well as leather from its skin. I should get these to a tailor and blacksmith of new equipment. I also looted the bodies of the other people at attacked me giving some minor loot as well but I found a amulet with the information guild crest on it.

There were a couple of people that attacked me for some reason but I killed them and got this mark on my forehead. Eventually they stopped attacking me and just stared and followed behind for some reason.

When I checked my stats I realised how little it changed form the last time I saw it. I placed the 30 points from the level ups into strength to even my stats out a bit.

When I reached the city gates a large number of people were already gathered. I saw the giant man from the information centre and a very shocked Maria behind him.

The man spoke first with, "I thank you on behalf of the city for getting rid of that beast."

I smiled at his words and said, "Well I was ambushed during the first for some reason. That caused a bit of a problem. Maria I believe this belongs to you."

I threw the amulet I found onto the ground in front of her. So was shaking now. I believe everyone else knows what happened.

The man sighed again and said, "Well now, what information do you need?" Ah finally, now I can ask all I want.

"First, what is located 100 kilometres to the North-East from here?"

The man immediately answered, "The Kingdom of Davion I believe. The capital is near that location"

So I can just go to the capital then head to wherever the mana detector points to next. I sighed in relief.

"Second, you know a good blacksmith and tailor that could make equipment for free?"

The man suddenly laughed out loud. He said while still laughing, "I have some friends that can do that for you. You can follow me to them."

I left the Cyclops head on the ground and followed the man to where his "friends" were.
