The more Ethan consumed, the more power surged through him.

Though his strength had diminished slightly, it was still enough to dominate in this low-level world of martial arts.

However, his intelligence remained too low for more complex tasks.

Thankfully, the system's inventory had preserved certain valuable items. Ethan felt fortunate he hadn't consumed the Wisdom Fruit granted by the aliens—it could provide a full ten points of intelligence.

In this world, he knew he'd need to eliminate at least 400 people to fully activate his 'Killer' ability. But Ethan wasn't in any rush. He sensed someone waiting for him outside.

"Ethan, come out. We have a witness ready to testify against you," a male officer called out.

Ethan paused, considering his options. He mentally swapped out his 'Killer' title for 'Game Master,' as the former still seemed too menacing for his liking.

The male officer glanced at Ethan and couldn't help but feel a little puzzled. This guy seemed ordinary, like a typical loser. Zhang Jiajia must have been overzealous.

Zhang Jiajia, the young female officer who had just recently started her job, had been eager to make a name for herself by catching a long-elusive murderer. But upon closer inspection, she felt a twinge of doubt. Maybe she'd gotten it wrong.

Meanwhile, an elderly woman had been brought in as a witness, expecting to see the man responsible for her son's death. When she saw Ethan, she was furious. "This can't be him! You're trying to fool me. This man doesn't look like a killer at all."

With that, she stormed out, convinced that the officers were trying to frame an innocent man.

Zhang Jiajia's confidence wavered. Looking again at Ethan, she realized she'd likely made a serious mistake. He wasn't a killer—just an ordinary, unemployed guy with nothing better to do than play games all day. Her face flushed with embarrassment.

"Mr. Ethan, I'm terribly sorry," she said in a quiet, apologetic voice. "It seems I arrested you by mistake yesterday. I'll let you go right now."

Ethan wasn't angry, but he saw an opportunity. "You can't just lock me up for no reason. I'll need compensation—lost wages, emotional damages, and something for the trouble you've caused."

Zhang Jiajia, feeling guilty and wanting to make things right, quickly agreed. "I'll transfer you 1,000 dollars as soon as we're out."

With a nod, Ethan followed her out. After receiving the cash, he smiled. "We're even now. No need to worry about me causing trouble."

Zhang Jiajia, feeling relieved but still uneasy, offered another gesture of goodwill. "You know, you don't have to stay a drifter. I can recommend you for a job. I have a friend at the Ravenwood Corporation who's looking for people. Maybe I can introduce you?"

Ethan thought it over. A job might not be so bad. "Thanks, Officer Zhang. I'll give it a try."

Soon after, Ethan found himself at the Ravenwood Corporation's massive headquarters, where he was hired as a security guard. It was a good deal—decent pay, food and accommodation provided, and even some vacation days. The life of a regular guy didn't seem so bad after all.

In his new dorm, Ethan set up a computer and logged into Legends of Valor, one of his favorite games. Thanks to his 'Game Master' ability, his performance was almost supernatural, landing headshots with ease.

Unbeknownst to him, a popular streamer playing in the same match couldn't believe what he was witnessing. "He's cheating!" the streamer shouted to his audience. But Ethan wasn't using cheats—just his extraordinary skills.

The streamer reported him to the game officials, and soon Ethan's account was banned for a decade, accused of unfair play. Ethan, however, simply shrugged. It was just another day.
