'WHAT THE FUCK!' Bai Chen inwardly cursed as he didn't dare to accidentally break the rule again.
He did inadvertently break the rules, but who was to blame? Should he blame his bad memory?
Bai Chen only had 50 points remaining now, and if he broke the rule again, then his points probably would lose the 5 in 50, and it would be 0 in the end. Zero meant death, and Bai Chen didn't want to take the risk as he kept his lips in a thin line.
"This is the first time I've heard you curse, Your Highness!"
He heard someone speak, and he suddenly turned to the voice as his blue eyes stared intently at the person who had just spoken. 'It's all your fault that I ended up breaking the rules!' He gritted his teeth as he continued to curse the servant, but of course, he only dared to do it in his heart.
"What's the matter, Your Highness? You're no longer under the demon's spell, are you?"
The annoying servant questioned him with concern, and even if Bai Chen was furious with the man, he decided to close his eyes while counting from one to five to calm his anger.
It was his strange method of dispelling his anger, but most of the time, it worked.
And luckily, it still worked because he felt calmer when he opened his eyes again. "What are you talking about? What demon spell?" He finally asked the servant when he calmed down again.
"Aiyah! Wait a moment, Your Highness!" But, instead of directly answering his question, the servant suddenly ran towards the door, leaving the prince no time to question the man.
"He's just a freak, I guess," Bai Chen mumbled as he tried to wring out his soaking wet hair.
His brown hair was long now, and he still wasn't used to it. And it was kind of annoying to have long hair in wet conditions like this.
But before he could squeeze all the water out of his hair, he suddenly heard a series of footsteps that were starting to become familiar to his ears. When he looked up, he could see Ma Qiao had returned with a towel in his hands.
It turned out that the servant still knew how to take responsibility for his mistakes, but Bai Chen still stared at him blankly. 'I've never read a novel where a servant dares to water his own master like this. This world is strange.'
"Let me dry your hair while I tell you the story of the demon, Your Highness," the servant smiled cheerfully before moving to dry Bai Chen's hair with a towel. "So, there is a story about the Flute Demon, Your Highness. She is a demon who always carries her flute, and when she blows her flute, werewolves and humans will fall into illusions. Some people say that if a werewolf or a human hears the melody from the flute, they will remember the most painful memories of their lives, and they will cry before they go crazy."
It could be said that today was his first day in this strange world, but he had already heard such a terrible story from his servant.
He did remember when Bai Lang told him about demons not having good relations with werewolves and humans, but he had no idea that demons could be so dangerous.
'I thought I could just bite the demons with my fangs or maybe tear their bodies with my claws, but I don't think I should act recklessly if I ever encounter a demon in the future,' Bai Chen nodded as he made up his mind.
"So, the way to break the illusion from the Flute Demon is to pour water on the heads of werewolves or humans?" Bai Chen asked again when he remembered what Ma Qiao had just done to him.
He could tolerate it if the servant did that to protect him, but to his dismay, the servant only smiled bashfully at him as he replied, "It's not like that, Your Highness. I don't know how to save someone who is under the Flute Demon spell, and I just have random thoughts of pouring water on your head. My apologies, Your Highness."
"..."
Bai Chen couldn't reply, and he wasn't sure that he would be able to collect himself even if he closed his eyes and started counting from one to five. In the end, he simply asked the servant to leave him alone before he exploded once more.
The servant innocently blinked his grey eyes as he was reluctant to leave, but Bai Chen immediately stood up before pushing the man out of his pavilion.
After the annoying servant was out of sight, Bai Chen walked towards his bed before massaging his sore temples. "It's only my first day here, but I've had a few headaches already," he complained to no one because he was the only one in the room.
"It's only your first day here, but you've already broken one of my rules, young man?"
Bai Chen stopped massaging his temples after hearing a voice that sounded like it was fighting back his grievances. Lifting his head to look ahead, he could see a white wolf floating not far from where he was sitting.
"Bai Lang? What are you doing here?" The blue-eyed man asked because the creature that was casually floating in the air was indeed the little white wolf, Bai Lang.
"Oh? You don't like seeing me here? Fine. I'll leave you alone then."
Bai Lang suddenly acted dejected, and Bai Chen groaned in annoyance before saying, "I just didn't expect that you would be able to appear in real life. I thought your place was only in a boring space where you could only see white everywhere."
"..." The young man dared to call the sacred place boring, and Bai Lang facepalmed.
"You are the only one who can see me when I'm in real life, and I came here to give you the first mission. Are you ready for it, Bai Chen?"
Spoiler: the first mission will relate to the ML :)
