Wakanda - Part 1/?

3 Hours Later——

"-Your father would've crushed their breath from their very bodies-"

My uncle, N'Jobu, rambled on to me. After arriving back in Wakanda and making my way to the palace, I informed my uncle of my findings.

"-Pulled their traitorous fingers from their sockets, and transmitted their judgement for all to see." He finishes.

"As would I have, uncle. Too bad we were not around at that time, huh?"

"…It is you who is king now, T'Challa. Speak Plainly, what is on your mind?" He responds to my little joke, seems he caught on.

"My father….how many Wakandans have gone 'missing' under his rule? What my grandfather and his father before him?"

"…I..do not know, you must know that anyone capable of discovering Wakandan spies is someone VERY capable. What would happen of more was captured in trying to figure out where they went?"

"You didn't try?"

"OF COURSE WE DID!….But, not unless they were important..or had information about Wakanda's location." He yelled at me, I could feel my anger raising.

"You..why did I not know of this?"

He begins to pace around the room, "You were steered away from it, around the palaces winding passages. Its not for these to shatter a child's image of his father."

"…Be that as it may, know this— I am not my father. I will not, and cannot be. I know that as a king, I will make soul crushing decisions, but leaving my people in the wild for others. His death has given us evidence that Wakanda faces bolder dangers now.

I need a firmer, steadier grip on my people, and I must set an example for ANYONE who harms Wakanda or her children!" I manage to get out.

I sense my mother and Shuri come from their eavesdropping spot. I knew they were there, I just didn't care.

"I can understand not telling T'Challa and Shuri, N'Jobu, but to keep me from such matters? T'Chaka may be dead but I am still Queen." My mother, Ramonda, says as she come out.

I see N'Jobu a little surprised at her reveal, I guess he makes the decision to ignore them for a second as he addresses me, "The reason we have bolder enemies, IS BECAUSE YOU, MY SON AND YOUR FATHER DECIDED TO HELP THE OUTSIDERS!" He once again yells at me.

"YOU WATCH YOUR TONGUE WHEN YOU SPEAK TO ME, UNCLE, YOU FORGET YOUR PLACE!" Anger makes me scream at him. I regain myself a couple seconds later and realize what I did. I dont feel sorry.

"If the country knew our people were going missing-"

"And so you kept it in the dark? From friends and family?"

"…"

"If they think the throne can't protect them, then Wakanda goes back to being nothing more than a group of warring tribes." I explain.

Shuri awkwardly moves to the computer. I can tell she's uncomfortable with the energy we've created in the studio today, "I-Ill s-start parsing the data to see what it can tell us, brother." She says. I nod to her.

"Why?" N'Jobu asks me, sounding a little depressed.

The question confuses me, "Why, what uncle?"

"…Why did he have to go…he's dead…because of that decision. My brother is dead because of the outsiders, why?" He begins to choke up and tears begin to drop from his eyes.

"…We had too, what would've happened if Darkseid killed the Justice League? He would've conquered the whole of Earth. We HAD to stop him." I explain softly.

"B-but-"

"It was not their fault, if you need to blame someone, blame me or..blame Darkseid." I interrupt him.

I continue on, "You..as of right know, you are temporarily relieved of your duty, take some days off, go on vacation and come back mentally ready, ok uncle. You need time to grieve." He looks a little shocked at my order, but gets over it quickly. Hugging me, my mother and Shuri, he leaves the room.

Images of missing Wakandans appear on the screen.

3rd PERSON

Seeing how many Wakandans that have gone missing from missions without any sort of investigation makes T'Challa's face morph into grim determination.

"Dammit! So many?…..W-what can you do, T'Challa?" Shuri asks T'Challa, desperately.

Before T'Challa can respond, Ramonda does, "What can we do? Wakanda's shrouded existence is for the good of the world. If they knew of our superiority, they wouldn't let it stand and we are not conquerers."

"They already know mother, we must do SOMETHING!" Shuri responds to her mother.

"What do you mean? If we respond, they will take that as ways to be more afraid of us."

"No,…If I can speak with the Justice League and at the UN conference, I could handle that. What we must do is paint a picture of our wrath on our enemies while painting a distant yet friendly relationship with those not among Wakanda's enemies." T'Challa says, not agreeing with his mother.

"I dont agree, please listen, the history of the continent shows that outsiders cannot be trusted! Please T'Challa, dont do this!" Ramonda desperately pleas with here son.

T'Challa shakes his head at his mother's plea, "We are Wakanda mother, we do not need to be afraid."

"Afraid? Wakanda never knew fear under your fathers rule." Ramonda says, a little offended.

"Wakanda has always known fear. Hiding from the world like scared cats, we could've prevented the atrocities committed against people of our continent, but Wakanda was to scared."

"I need to grapple with the world beyond Wakanda's borders, Mother. And though they may not know it yet, Wakanda needs too as well." T'Challa says as he walks away with Shuri.

Ramonda slams her hand into the table in anger, "Reveal Wakanda to the world and you risk turning the Black Panther into a impotent symbol!"

Hearing her words, T'Challa glances over his shoulder, "Or a more powerful one." And then walks out with his sister.

Now on the way to Shuri's lab, she asks, "I agree with you brother, but are y-you sure?" She looks a little uncertain at her brother.

"…There is no Justice, Peace, Tranquility, Progress or Happiness unless we make it, Shuri. As a king, Wakanda is my family, I love my family, and I WILL avenge them."

Shuri once again determined because of her brothers words, gets her confidence back.

"Did you succeed in what I told you to find?" T'Challa switches the conversation.

"Ahh, yes I did!" She says excitedly.

"And what did you find from it?"

"Wellll..its a crystalline metal that emits dome sort of radiation. I can guess that prolonged exposure will cause cancer, besides that, the radiation can emit through any element except lead and vibranium." She responds.

"Mmm, find a way to implement it into the panther weave."

"Of course!"

Nodding at her words T'Challa mutters, "Thank you 'Agamemno Contingency.'"
