Unexpected Development

"You're crazy" she said sheepishly, her face instantly flushing. She pushed his face away from hers to hide her emotions.

"Stop with your jokes...It's late already. Don't blame me if you're late for school tomorrow." she said with a shrug.

"okay...okay..., I'm leaving already." he answered picking himself up and left to the window.

"Whatever..."

"See you tomorrow." he said climbing down the window.

"okay...." she said with a grin waving him.

Lucretia went back to her room and slammed herself on the bed.

"phew...., that was so close. I nearly kissed him. Oh...God..., have mercy on my poor heart." she said to herself, tossing and turning on her bed and slowly drifted off to sleep.

DALTON HIGH SCHOOL

Lucretia and her friends sat in the canteen, reminiscing last year's summer trip.

"It was so fun...I think it's high time we plan another fun trip." said Mimie.

"Yeah....." replied Crystal, sipping her drink.

"Girls..., I'll be right back. I need to use the washroom." said Lucretia, standing from her chair.

"Okay..." they nodded and continued with their conversation whiles Lucretia left to the washroom.

WASHROOM

Lucretia was in the washroom using one of the WC when she heard a heavy slam on the door. Startled, she quickly got dressed and opened the door.

"Oh...great" she said ironically on seeing Daisy and her friends.

She snubbed them and walked to the sink to wash her hands.

"Such guts you have." said Daisy walking over to her.

"What now Daisy...?" she rolled her eyes, turning to face her.

"It's simple baby girl..., just stay off my man."

"Your man...?"

"Yeah..., Philip and I are in a relationship now so I want you to back off."She said, slightly pushing Lucretia on the chest.

"What....?" she asked with a surprised look.

"Oops..., why so shocked?" she asked, smiling mockingly at her.

"Stop...playing..around Daisy..." said Lucretia indignantly.

"And does it look like I'm playing? I don't want to see you around Philip again."

"And what if I don't, Daisy?"

"Then watch as I turn Philip against you." she said dashing out with her friends tagging along.

"aahh....." cried Lucretia hitting her hand on the sink and broke down in tears.

Philip was in the class with Mike and Eugene chit chatting and giggling at each each other's joke when Lucretia walked in.

"Can I have a word with you, Philip?"

"Sure..., excuse me guys."

"okay..." said Mike and Eugene in unison, continuing with their conversation.

Lucretia and Philip walked midway through the corridor and stopped.

"Is there something you're not telling me?"

"Something like what?" He asked, looking lost.

"About you and Daisy."

"Oh..., about that. I planned to tell you after class."

"Oh really...?" she asked skeptically.

"Yeah.....anyway, how did you find out."

"It was by chance but why Daisy?

"Oh... why not? Why looking grumpy? Aren't you happy for me?"

"Oh...yeah..., I'm so happy and even jumping for joy." she said sarcastically and stormed out on Philip.

"Oh..., what's wrong with her..?" he murmured to himself and shrugged.

Krriinngg

The bell rang for closing, Lucretia pulled her bag and stormed out of the class.

"Hey...Luc, wait for me....." exclaimed Philip, running after her.

Mimie and Crystal looked on confused.

" What's going on with them?" asked Crystal.

"I don't know, Let's go." said Mimie with a shrug, pulled her bag and they dashed out of the class.

Lucretia sat in the bus still grumpy.

"Are you still mad at me?" asked Philip searching her face but Lucretia ignored him.

" Hey...Luc.., please talk to me. OK.., let me make it up to you. How about I take you to the ice cream shop after supper?"

He knew it was a done deal when he saw Lucretia's face beam with smiles.

"Okay..., promise? No failures." she replied, turning to face Philip.

"Uhm...promised, happy now?"

"Yes..." she replied, giggling and teasing Philip.

It was already 4pm, the bus pulled up at their stop. Lucretia and Philip got off, walking hand in hand.

"Should I take you home too to appease you?" asked Philip teasingly.

"Hey...Phil, stop teasing." she replied, running off.

"See you later Phil, I will be waiting."

"Sure...will see you at 7pm."

"Okay..." she replied, slammed the gate opened and went in.
