True Intention

Linsey was heading towards the terrace when Daisy furiously walked passed almost colliding into her, followed by Philip. She swiftly turned to glance at them, puzzled.

"What's going on?" she mumbled thoughtfully to herself as she continued to the terrace.

"Lucretia?, what's going on?" she questioned as she met Lucretia standing lost in thought.

"Tell me girl.., what happened? I met Daisy on my way here followed by Philip. She looked kind of furious." she added as she neared her.

"Hmm...Phil. He kind of kissed me and she...."

"Wait, wait, wait, what did you just say?" uttered Linsey surprised.

"Well.., you heard me right Linsey. Philip kissed me and she happened to walk in on us." she replied sheepishly.

"Huh..? I guess I know where Daisy is coming from but why did he kissed you? I'm kind of confused or is your crush finally a reality?" she queried, a smile building up on her face.

"Hey...Linsey..?" she mumbled, blushing.

Just then, Anita walked in.

"Hey girls, how did it go? I have been searching for you everywhere since I saw Philip rushing out.

Tell me, did it work?" she questioned as she stared expectantly at them.

"It more than worked Ani, she had her first kiss from her crush." replied Linsey with a grin.

"What do you mean Linsey? You mean Philip kissed her?" she inquired, surprised.

"Yeah, Ani.."

"Oh my God, Lucretia?" uttered Anita, astonished.

"I now know why Jayden left the party in such a haste, looking gloomy." she added.

"Hey what?" mumbled Linsey.

"Yes Lucretia, I guess he saw you two." she added as she glanced at Lucretia.

"But I don't get it Luc, why did you let him kiss you?" she queried quizzically.

Lucretia stood silently for a while and dashed off.

"Where are you going Luc?" shouted Linsey as she swiftly glanced at Anita and rushed off after Lucretia.

OUTSIDE

Daisy was about to get into her car when Philip held her back. She wanked her hand from his as she turned to face him, pissed.

"What was the meaning of that Philip?" she cried.

"I'm sorry Daisy, I didn't know what got into me. Please.."

"You know what Phil, I don't want to talk about it now. Let's talk later." she replied, took her seat in the car and the driver sped off. He stared as the back of the car fades into the darkness and sighed.

"What did you just do Phil..?" he muttered to himself. He turned back to glance at the door to the house and saw Lucretia standing at the entrance. They stared at each other for a while and Philip sauntered off to his house.

"Phil..., wait..." shouted Lucretia as she glided down from the corridor, trailing after him.

He took a deep breathe as he halted midway, turning to Lucretia.

"Phil do...?" muttered Lucretia about to say something when Philip hastily uttered, cutting in.

"I'm sorry Luc, let's forget what just happened."

"But you..."

"Please Luc..." he muttered dully and strolled off to his house as Lucretia stood glancing at him, stunned.

"Lucretia...? Lucretia...?." a voice came calling from the corridor.

"I'm coming." she mumbled dully and glided back into the house.

***********

It was already 9pm when Daisy's car pulled up in front of their mansion. She glided down from the car still pissed as she rushed into the house, straight to her room.

"aahh..." she shouted, thumping her bag on the floor as she slammed the door behind her.

"I'm going to make your life miserable Lucretia, just wait for it." she added indignantly.

PHILIP'S HOUSE

The party was already over and everybody has gone back to their homes. Philip laid on his bed deep in thought, having flashbacks of the incident earlier at Lucretia's house.

"What to do Phil..?" he mumbled, ruffling his hair.

At that moment, his phone rang. He reached for it, checking the caller.

"Oh Mike." he muttered, picking up.

"What's up Mike...?" he answered on hearing Mike's voice on the phone.

"You didn't even tell us when you were leaving the party. What happened?" queried Mike on the other side of the phone.

"Sorry Mike, I was in a rush."

"Okay, okay, so tell me. When are you going to tell Lucretia your true feelings for her and stop treating her like you hate her?"

"I can't Mike.."

"Why not Philip? You love her and you should let her know."

"You don't understand Mike, I'm doing all this for her safety. You know how Daisy can be."

"I know Philip but that doesn't prevent you from letting her know how you feel about her. At least you can go back to being her friend. I know Lucretia can protect herself from Daisy."

"Well..., I not too sure about that Mike. I can't make a mistake by endangering her life. It's better keeping a distance from her."

"Whatever Philip, just stop hurting her."

"I know Mike..." he replied as they kept on chatting for a while.

Lucretia laid on her bed glancing on the screen of her phone as she stared blankly at Jayden's number.

"Do you girls think it's a good idea calling him?" she questioned as she swiftly turned, glancing at her friends.

"Yes Lucretia, I think you should call him." replied Anita.

"I don't think you should Lucretia. Just give him some time." responded Linsey.

"Oh no Linsey, what are you saying...? Give him some space..? Oh gosh, I don't think it's a good idea. Trust me." commented Anita.

"Stop exaggerating already Ani, why making a mountain out of a mole?" replied Linsey.

"Girls, girls" muttered Lucretia as she stared at them.

"You're not helping in anyway." she added.

They were still ranting on the topic when Lucretia's phone rang. She glanced at the screen and gasped with wide eyes.

"It's Jayden.." she whispered as she glanced back at her friends.

"Pick it up Luc.." mumbled Anita.

"No Luc.., give it to me." replied Linsey as she stood up, reaching for it when Anita snatched it midway. They were both fighting over the phone when Linsey accidentally answered the call.

"Hello..." called Jayden from the other side of the phone.

"Oh no." muttered Linsey, handing the phone back to Lucretia.

"Hello..." answered Lucretia dully as she took the phone, looking tensed.

"I'm sorry for leaving the party earlier than planned Lucretia, something urgent came up from home."

"Hmm...." she mumbled.

"Well, it's actually not a problem Jayden. Hope you're okay." she added, stammering.

"Yes, I am. Thanks. Anyway Luc..?"

"Huh..?"

"Can we meet and have a talk?"

"Now..?" she questioned, surprised.

"No, no, how about ice cream tomorrow evening?"

"O..kay..." she replied, skeptically.

"Alright, I will meet you up at 7pm then we go."

"Okay."

"That's great, goodnight."

"Good night." replied Lucretia and the line went dead. She slowly drew the phone away from her ears, starring quietly on it as her friends waits impatiently for her.

"What did he say?" questioned Anita, anxiously.

"Well..., he wants us to talk." she uttered as she stared expectantly at her friends.

"Talk....?" queried Linsey as they both glanced at each other, surprised and then back to Lucretia.

"What does he want to talk about?" questioned Anita.

"Is it about the kiss...?" inquired Linsey, starring at Lucretia, tensed.

"I hope not Linsey." mumbled Lucretia nervously.
