The Bigger Game

Lucretia got terrified by the sudden attack but the look of horror and panic suddenly disappeared when she finally realised who the attacker was.

"Mimie....." she exclaimed about to rebuke her but she covered her mouth with her hands as she watched Crystal strolled to the door; peeking through it.

"We're safe." she replied, slowly closing the door as she turned the knob to lock it.

"What the hell are you guys doing?" Lucretia loud whispered as she released Mimie's hand from her mouth. "And why are you girls hiding ?"

"This is really, really bad Luc..." said Crystal as she glided back to where both Mimie and Lucretia were standing.

Lucretia who was still confused by their awkward attitude, glanced quizzically at her; not getting what she was talking about.

"What is really bad here except the two of your acting really weird?" she stared from Mimie to Crystal.

"No, no Luc, you should see this for yourself. I'm even surprise you haven't seen it." Mimie mumbled, scrolling through her phone. When she had found what she was looking for, she held it up to Lucretia's face.

"See this for yourself."

To her outmost surprise, the clip has been uploaded on YouTube by an unknown channel and the worse part of it was that it has been shared for like a million times.

"Wha..what the hell is this?" she stammered, glancing at Mimie and Crystal's face simultaneously. "Why is this on YouTube? Who shared it there?"

"I don't know." replied Mimie, "I saw this yesterday when I was searching for one of those high school series that I usually watch. I was stunned myself. I asked my brother who was an IT expect to trace the channel which posted it but he found nothing on that since the main source have already been deleted but it had been shared by millions already."

Lucretia ruffled her hair, both frustrated and confused at the same time. But there was only one way out to end all this crazy games and that's to find the evidence and also the culprit.

"Have you guys seen Jayden?" she questioned hastily.

"Not yet, we received a message to meet him up at school yesterday but we haven't set eyes on him." replied Mimie.

"Sorry guys..., I need to go now. If this is to end, then I need to find Jayden."

"Wait Luc..." cried Crystal as she tried to stop her but she had already left.

She sighed, glancing back at Mimie with an helpless expression on her face.

"Is there any way we can help her?"

They both stood there thoughtfully for a while then Crystal reached into her bag, suddenly remembering something. She rummaged through it then pulled out her phone.

"What are you up to?" queried Mimie, staring at her confused.

"I'm calling Philip." she said, her eyes fixed on the screen of her phone. "He should at least do something to help his friend. He can't just keep silent forever. If not anything, this is all happening because of him."

"Do you think he will help? He has been so cold towards her since the start of this scandal. Nobody knows what's really going on in his mind."

"We can only find that out if we confront him, don't you think?" she placed the phone on her ear, listening as it rings.

*************

Philip rushed out of his room, descending the stairs. A dilemma of whether to approach Lucretia or not and the thought of why she rushed to school so early in the morning, running through his mind.

"I'm leaving mum.." He exclaimed to his mother who was in the kitchen making breakfast for him as he dazzles hurriedly to the door, pulling it opened.

"Wait son." she shouted, hurrying to the hall. Unfortunately for her, she got there to meet his back as he rushed out of the door. "But your mea..l "

She sighed and glided back into the kitchen.

Philip took out his phone as he stepped into the street taking the pavement to the bus stop. Just as he was about to flip through for Lucretia's number, a call came in displaying Crystal's caller ID. He was quiet surprised but answered anyways.

"Hello Crystal? What's up?"

"What's up..? What kind of friend are you, Phil? How can you be walking and acting as if nothing is happening? If for nothing at all, think about your friendship for the past years. You should be doing something by now to stop the circulation of that damn video on YouTube now."

"Wait, wait, what video are you talking about?"

"The same video that got circulated on the school's platform some days ago. We don't know what happened but one way or the other, someone is circulating on YouTube and if not stopped, it will be all over every social media platforms very soon."

"What! so where is Lucretia now? Is she okay? I saw her rushed off to school very early this morning."

"She has gone to find Jayden to assist her find the culprits responsible for all this scandals."

"Okay, okay, I'm on my way to school now. Let's talk when I get there so we try to figure out ways to help get the video down. I will get Mark and Eugene to help too."

"Alright, see you then." she mumbled and hanged up.

Philip slowly brought down the phone from his ear, stunned by the information relaid to him. Suddenly being brought back to his senses, he took to his heels; racing to the bus stop.

On the other hand, Mimie stared expectantly at Crystal as she returned the phone into her bag.

"Let's go." she said as she lifted her head.

"Wait, tell me what he said first."

She sighed, shoving the hand of his bag well over her shoulders. "He said he's on his way to school so will meet up with us when he gets here. Come on, let's go." she took the lead, sauntering out of the washroom.

"Sure?" Mimie queried, following after her. Just as they stepped out, they saw the hallway in total chaos as all the students were rushing to the hall.

"What's going on here?"

At that moment, one of their mates came hurrying past them.

"Hold on Marilyn," she held her hand, bringing her to a halt. "What's going on? why is everyone rushing to the hall?"

"It's Daisy and Lucretia. They're fighting I the hall."

"What!" they both exclaimed but before Marilyn could say any further, they took to their heels; racing past other students to the hall.

To their outmost surprise, they met Daisy and Lucretia in a dirty fight with each of them having a fist full of each others hair as Nelly and Nikita tried to get them away from each other.

"Lucretia!" they shouted, racing to them as they joined Nelly and Nikita to stop the fight.

They did their possible best to stop the fight but to no avail. The next thing they realized, Daisy was on the floor with Lucretia over her.

"Lucretia you have to stop this else you...." she cried, about to say something when she felt someone shoved her slightly aside and lifted Lucretia off Daisy; leading her away through the crowd to the exit of the hall like a flash of lightening.

On gaining her grounds, she deftly turned and noticing the familiar figure walking away with Lucretia; she shouted,

"Jayden! You guys should wait for me."

And without waiting for another seconds, she raced after them followed by Mimie.
