Returning Home

Lucretia slowly pulled away and ran off to the house whiles Jayden stared from behind with a smile then strolled off. She slammed the door behind her and leaned on it, placing a hand on her chest. Just then, her mother descended from the stairs to meet her at the door.

"Are you okay, Luc?" (a quizzical look)

"Um..., yes mum.." she replied hastily and rushed off to her room, passing by her mother.

"Oh, what's wrong with her?" she muttered and shrugged off to the kitchen.

Lucretia glided into her room to meet Anita and Linsey waiting anxiously for her.

"That was a blast Luc...." they muttered, rushing over to her as they wrapped a hand each around her neck.

"Not now girls...,I'm really feeling sleepy." she uttered, snaking out of their arms. She strolled over to the bed and tossed herself on it, pulling the blanket over her body.

They both stared at her and chuckled, rushing to the bed.

"Oh no, you don't." said Linsey with a smile as they both pulled the blanket away from her head.

She made a face as she sat up. They both sat simultaneously on opposite sides at her feet.

"We seriously need to talk Luc." said Anita.

"Girl, that was totally something else." added Linsey wittily. " Trust me, I'm really rooting out for Jayden."

Lucretia glanced at her with a jaw drop as she rolled her eyes.

"Damn Linsey, are you my friend at all? I can't just believe this." she muttered, throwing her hands in the air as she slammed back on the bed, starring thoughtfully at the ceiling.

Linsey glided over to Lucretia, brushing her hands in her hair.

"Hey...,don't take it to heart. Just giving you encouragement. "

She turned her face to her and smiled.

"I know. It's just that I don't know what to do with Jayden. He's really a good person but I can't return his love the same way. I'm a bad girlfriend, right?"

Anita glanced at her from where she sat and sighed, drawing closer to her.

"Don't be too hard on yourself Luc, I believe you will gradually know what to do. You're a smart girl."

She stared quietly at them for a while and nodded with a smile.

"That's more like it." commented Anita.

"Now, tell me. How did you date go?" queried Linsey with a grin, wiggling her eyebrow.

"Not bad, just some small talks and more ice cream."

"So did you tell you about his meeting with Daisy?" inquired Anita.

"Yeah.., she was just being annoying as always. She wanted to get back at me for the kiss."

"You mean Philip's kiss?"

"Yeah..."

"Talking about Philip, how far? I mean, how are things between you guys. He seems kind of interested in you now, I think." said Linsey.

"I don't know Linsey, Philip can never be predicted. He will be sweet this minute and the next minute, he is as rude as hell. I'm thinking of giving up on my one sided love."

"One sided? I don't think so Lucretia. The way he looks at you says it." uttered Anita.

"Forget it Anita, I want to sleep now." she muttered, laying sideways. "Goodnight girls." she added, turning off the light.

"Goodnight.." they answered and joined her on the bed. Her back facing them.

Soon, Linsey and Anita fell asleep whiles Lucretia still laid in bed, starring thoughtfully in the air.

PHILIP'S HOUSE

It was around 12am. Philip stayed tossing and turning on his bed, still disturbed by the earlier incident.

"Damn..." he slammed his fist in his pillow. "Why the hell did she let him kiss her? This is really getting on my nerves." he uttered, shrugging from bed.

He sauntered out of his room to the kitchen and opened the fridge. He poured himself a glass of water and glided over to the dinning table. He sat down starring thoughtfully at the glass when his mother descended the stairs.

"Can't sleep?" she queried, strolling over to him.

"Yeah..." he winced.

"What's on your mind, tell me." she uttered, sitting next to him as he brushed her hands through his hair.

"Well, it's about a friend."

"What about him?"

"Well, he has this problem."

"What problem? Let's hear it, I might be of help."

"Um.., this friend of mine has this best friend he he loved more than a friend but doesn't know how to approach her on it. He thought being rude to her might help but it didn't since it turned out that she hate him more now." he uttered raising his head to meet his mother's quizzical gaze.

"Is it really for a friend?" she questioned skeptically.

"No mum..., it's really a friend." he answered hastily, smiling sheepishly.

"Okay, okay, just tell your friend to apologized in sincerity to his best friend and prove his love for her in action and not in just saying it." uttered Mrs. Raina, advising him on what to do. He listened attentively, nodding.

"Are you sure this is going to work?"

"Yes dear, it always does."

"Okay, thank you mum.." he replied with a smile, raising from his seat.

"I will go to bed now, goodnight."

"Okay dear, goodnight." she replied as he pecked her cheeks and strolled off.

"Are you sure it's not you?" she queried after him.

"Mum..." he mumbled over his shoulders and glided into his room.

************

The rest of the holidays went by without and special happenings and soon, it was time for Linsey and Anita to return back to Australia.

"I'm really going to miss you girls." cried Lucretia with tears in her eyes.

"We're going to miss you too Lucretia." they muttered, pulling her into a hug.

"You can come back to Australia whenever you feel exhausted over here, okay? Don't work yourself so hard." said Linsey.

"Okay Linsey..."

Just then, Mrs. Angelica's voice echoed in the room.

"We should get going now girls else you will miss your flight."

"Okay Auntie..." they chorused, picking their bags from the bed.

"Remember what I told you Luc, we're always there for you. Our homes are always opened to you."

She nodded with a smile, drying her tears.

"Let's get going. I don't want you girls to miss your flight because of me." she uttered, sauntering to the door.

Linsey and Anita smiled and followed after her out of the room. The descended the stairs to meet Mr and Mrs. Woods together with Philip, waiting for them.

"See who is here to see you girls off." said Mrs. Angelica.

"Hey Phil, thanks." cried Anita with a smile.

"Can we go now?" questioned Mr Gilbert.

"Yes Uncle.." they answered in unison.

"Okay, let's go." he replied and they all trod out of the house to the van. They settled in and he sped off.

After 40mins drive, the van pulled up in front of the airport. They all glided out and Philip helped Linsey and Anita with their bags. Mr. and Mrs Woods sauntered into the airport together with Linsey and Anita, leaving Philip and Lucretia behind to come with the bags.

All this while, Lucretia was not talking to Philip. He tried to speak to her but she ignored, passing him by. He stared at her for a while and followed after. After about 30minus of waiting, their flight was announced. They bid their final farewell to them as hugged Lucretia. Just then the announcement came again.

"You should go now." she muttered, letting go of them. They waved them as they strolled off. They watched them till their back disappeared into the crowds and they walked back to their van. Mr and Mrs Wood went to the front seats of the car whiles Lucretia and Philip went to the back. When everybody has settled in, Mr. Gilbert drove off.

Lucretia sat in the seat opposite to Philip in silence whiles Philip kept glancing at her.
