Questionable Trust

It was a cool and quiet day, Lucretia glanced on her phone as she dialed Philip's number. It connects but yet there was no answer.

"Why isn't he picking the calls." she mumbled puzzled as she gazed at the phone.

At that moment, the door swung opened with Linsey trolling in.

"What's it Lucretia? Why are you gazing at your phone in that manner?" she questioned as she neared her.

"Hmm...nothing serious Linsey, I was just calling Philip's line but he's not answering."

"Well, well, what more did you expect Lucretia?"

"I wouldn't also answer if I was him." she added with a shrug.

"Linsey..." expressed Lucretia, surprised.

"Are you for me or against me?" she queried.

"With you of course..." she replied, slightly smiling.

"Anyway, Auntie was looking for you. I guess you should head down with me now."

"Why..? What for?"

"I don't know?" she shrugged.

"You should head down if you're really anxious to know."

"Okay, okay..." she mumbled as she strolled to the door. She swiftly turned and noticed Linsey still glued at where she stood, gazing at her.

"What..?" Are you coming or not." added Lucretia quizzically.

"Of course I am.." replied Linsey as she dashed off after her, closing the door behind them.

Mrs. Angelica was with Anita when Lucretia and Linsey walked in.

"I'm here mum..., Linsey here told me you wanted to see me."

"Yes dear, would you girls mind getting me some groceries from town? We are low on it."

"Hmm..." she mumbled thoughtfully.

Linsey and Anita gazed at her expectantly.

"Are you busy with anything?" questioned Mrs. Angelica.

"Well, not really."

"What are you thinking of?" muttered Linsey as she nudged Lucretia on the ribs.

"Or... are...you...." she mumbled, whispering into Lucretia's ears as she leaned closer.

Lucretia gazed at her with the corner of her eyes, knowing well what she was about to say.

"Okay, okay, knock it off." she hastily mumbled, slightly nudging Linsey away.

"What do you want us to get for you mum...?" she added, glancing at Linsey who was smiling skeptically.

Anita looked on with a smile on her face.

"Way to go girl..." she whispered to Linsey, giving her a thumbs up.

"Here are the list of things I need you to get." uttered Mrs. Angelica as she headed a piece of paper to Lucretia.

"You girls are always indoors, you should be taking Linsey and Anita out more often to enjoy the atmosphere over here before going back to Australia. Aren't you even bored at all? Staying home all day?" she added as she strolled to the backyard.

Lucretia took a deep sigh, gazing at Linsey and Anita.

"I'm sorry girls if I'm making your summer holiday boring." she mumbled dully.

"Hey...,come on..." uttered Anita as they both went over to her, drawing her into a hug.

"Cheer up, Luc." added Linsey.

"Enough of the sulking face. Come on, let's go for some grocery shopping..." declared Anita wittily.

Lucretia glanced at them, slightly smiling and they headed out.

"We're leaving mum..." she shouted.

"Okay, girls..take care and becareful of the road."

"Sure, we'll be back soon." she responded as they strolled out, chatting.

"So..., about your meeting with Jayden today. Did he give you any hint on what he wants to talk to you about?" questioned Linsey.

"Not yet."

"But have you tried calling him today?" queried Anita.

"No Ani, I don't really know what to say. So I didn't bother."

"But seriously, I'm not really clear on something here. Why did Philip kiss you if he is not ready to take responsibility for it? It really buzzes my mind."

"I think we should not be really talking about this girls, it makes me feel weird."

"Okay Luc.." answered Linsey.

At this time, they were already at the bus stop. They glided into the bus and took their seats. Lucretia sat beside the window whiles Linsey and Anita sat beside her then, the bus sped off.

Lucretia sat quietly in the bus, looking down on her fingers playfully, lost in thought.

Linsey and Anita glanced quietly at her and sighed. Anita nudged Linsey on the ribs, gesturing her to draw Lucretia out of her thoughts.

"Luc..., Luc..." whispered Linsey, nudging Lucretia from her thoughts.

"Are you okay..?" she added.

"Yes Linsey, I was just wondering how to handle things now."

"Don't worry Luc.., you'll be fine. You have us." uttered Anita assuredly.

Lucretia gazed at them, a smile brighten up on her face.

"Okay." she nodded with a grin.

After some 30mins drive, the bus pulled up at their destination. Lucretia and her friends sauntered off the bus.

"I just love the atmosphere over here." mumbled Linsey with a smile on her face, stretching.

"It's a lovely place." added Anita.

"Okay girls.., let's get going. We have some shopping to do else we will be late for dinner." responded Lucretia as she strolled off.

"Hey... wait for us." shouted Anita as they raced after her.

"Did you plan on leaving us?" questioned Linsey as they joined her.

"Sort of.." mumbled Lucretia wittily.

"Hey..." she exclaimed and they all bust into laughter. They strolled into different supermarkets chatting and giggling as they shopped for the groceries.

After long hours of shopping, they finally came to a stop at an ice cream shop. They all got popsicles each and went their way.

They were strolling to the bus stop laughing and giggling when Lucretia suddenly stopped in front of a shop as she gaze through the glass stunned.

"Luc..., Luc...." mumbled Linsey as they both followed her gaze.

"Jayden and Daisy...?" mumbled Anita and Linsey stunned.

Lucretia stared quietly for a while and dashed off.

"Luc..., Luc..., wait. It might not be what you think." shouted Anita as they both raced after.
