Planning Towards The Hangout

Lucretia went up to her room and happily threw her bag on to her bed. She pulled her study chair and opened her laptop. She anxiously waits as her call connects to Linsey and Anita's line.

"Hi..., Luc..." exclaimed Linsey and Anita.

"Hi...girls, I just came back from school and heard from mum that you girls will be coming over this summer holidays." she exclaimed ecstatically.

"Yeah...girl...,I asked my mum and she has permitted it so yeah right, be expecting me." uttered Linsey excitedly.

"Same here Luc, I'm so dying to meet you. I missed you so much girl." muttered Anita, delighted.

"And don't ever think of having all the fun." added Linsey wittily.

"I bet you have my words on that" expressed Lucretia fixing a fake serious look.

Linsey and Anita nodded and they all broke into laughter.

"Lucretia....." a voice came calling from the hall interrupting their conversation.

"Coming.....,mum...," she exclaimed.

"I have to go now girls.., will call you later. Bye..." she hastily added, disconnected the call and dashed out of her room.

*************

Lucretia sat in the bus with her earphones on and eyes all fixed on her phone's screen scrowling through some pictures she took with Philip some months back. She was deeply concentrated in what she was doing and didn't notice when Jayden got on the bus.

"What're you looking at?" queried Jayden as he sat beside her stretching to have a look.

Lucretia got startled and quickly hid her phone.

"Ow..." expressed Jayden looking a bit quizzical.

"Jayden...,when did you get on the bus?" queried Lucretia.

"I just got on. You were so focused on your phone and didn't notice me."

"Oh..., so sorry"

"So what was that about?" he queried with a raised eyebrow gesturing to Lucretia's phone.

"Oh.. that, it's nothing serious" uttered Lucretia snubbing it off.

"Um...."mumbled Jayden skeptically.

There was a brief weird silence. Lucretia turned to Jayden, fidgeting.

"Um....Jay...?"

"Yes...." he muttered, turning to face her.

"Thank you for walking me home yesterday" she uttered sheepishly.

"Oh that, never mind. It was my pleasure." said Jayden with a grin.

Lucretia slightly blushing turned away from Jayden and wore her earphones, smiling. Jayden looked on and chuckled.

Few minutes later, the bus pulled up in front of the school. Jayden and Lucretia got off giggling at each other's joke. Mimie and Crystal caught up

with them half way through the corridor.

"Hey.." exclaimed Mimie, tickling Lucretia on the ribs.

Lucretia got startled and jumped in surprise. Jayden, Mimie and Crystal broke into laughter.

"Mimie...." she exclaimed sheepishly, joining in the laugh.

"Hi..., Jayden.." uttered Mimie and Crystal in unison.

"Hi..." he replied with a smile.

"Lucretia..., you should have seen your face. It was like you've seen a ghost. You were so funny." uttered Mimie still laughing.

"Hey..Mimie, it's your turn now." mumbled Lucretia as she goes in circles with her around Jayden and Crystal (laughing).

"Catch me if you can Luc..." exclaimed Mimie, dashing off to the classroom.

"hey...." mumbled Lucretia as she goes after her. Crystal and Jayden watched on giggling and followed after them to the classroom.

The rest of school hours past with the normal busy class schedules and school activities. Lucretia stood in front of her locker searching through her bag for her locker keys.

"Where did I put this keys?" she mumbled underneath her breath still searching through her bag.

"Aha.., here you are. Finally got hold of you." she added hastily, pulling the keys from the bag.

She was about to unlock the locker when she heard her name being called from behind. She turned and it was Philip.

"Oh Phil..., you're still here? she queried looking a little puzzled.

"I thought you had already left with Daisy." added Lucretia as he neared her.

"Let me help you." he uttered snatching the keys from her hands.

"What about you? Why are you alone?" he queried as he unlock the locker.

"Well...,Mimie and Crystal had somewhere to go before getting home so they left early but for Jayden...."

Philip sighed and rolled his eyes at the mention of Jayden. Lucretia noticed and gestured quizzically at him.

"I don't understand Phil, what do you have against him? You always act rude towards him."

By this time, Philip had already opened the locker.

"Drop your books in." he uttered, gesturing her with a raised eyebrow ignoring her question.

"Phil..you..." Lucretia was about to say something but was cut by Daisy walking in on them.

"Talk of the devil.." mumbled Lucretia underneath her breath rolling her eyes.

"Can I have a word with you?" requested Daisy sneering at Lucretia.

"Sure..." he uttered and followed Daisy out.

Lucretia puffed, slammed her locker door shut and checked her time.

"Oh shit..." she cursed and dashed out.

Philip glanced from where he stood, chatting with Daisy and noticed that Lucretia had left.

"Don't be so dramatic Daisy, let's talk when you get home." he uttered her, kissed her cheeks and left.

**************

Finally, the long awaited Saturday came. The morning was beautiful and bright. The sun peeks through Lucretia's window to her room blinding her eyes from her sleep. She grumpily turned on her bed and pulled the blanket over her head, blocking the sun rays from striking her face. Just then, her phone rang.

"Oh...God..., can't someone have a good sleep on Saturday morning?" she mumbled, reaching for her phone.

She answered without checking who the caller was.

"hello.....grumpy head..." a voice uttered sarcastically on the other side of the phone striking her ears.

Lucretia grimace and drowsily sat upright on the bed.

"Mimie....."she slowly uttered, rubbing her eyes.

"Are you still sleeping...?" she uttered in bemusement.

"It's Saturday girl...., have you forgotten already?" she hastily added in excitement.

"What is there to forget about?" she queried, a little puzzled.

"Oh Lucretia....you're such a dumb head you know?" uttered Mimie wittily.

"Today is the group hangout day, forgotten already?" she added quizzically.

"Oh God....Mimie..." she uttered with a wide eye.

"Let me call you later.." she hastily added, hanged up and tossed her phone on the bed. She hurriedly got off the bed and rushed to the washroom. She was half way done when she heard her mum calling from the hall.

"Coming...mum.." she exclaimed.

"Dear.., Philip is here..."Uttered her mother.

"Philip...? Was he really serious about coming along?" she mumbled to herself a little bemused.

"Okay..mum..,I'll be there soon." she exclaimed.

"Okay dear..You have to wait a little while Phil..., she will be down soon." she heard her mother muttered from downstairs.

Lucretia quickly washed down and rushed out of the washroom. She went to her wardrobe and brought out a blue jeans with a pink blouse and a white shirt. she wore her jeans with pink blouse and tied her shirt around her waist. She pulled the chair beside her dressing mirror and sat on it. She put on a slight make up and pulled her hair into a ponytail. She took a long look at herself in the mirror and smiled.

"Just perfect..." she mumbled to herself, took her bag and dashed out of the room.
