Going Back To Being Friends

There was an awkward silence between Philip and Lucretia at the back seat. Philip tried to say something to break the silence but the words just won't come out.

"Are you guys okay over there?" a voice came interrupting from the front.

Lucretia lifted her eyes to meet her mother starring keenly at them.

"Yes mum..." she replied, faking a smile.

" Sure?" she queried, scanning Philip's face.

"Yes Mrs. Woods..."

"Okay then." she uttered with a smile ad turned back.

Lucretia slowly turned her gaze to Philip and met his eyes. They stared at each other for a while in silence, like they were communicating with each other with their eyes.

Mr. Gilbert noticed them from the driving mirror and smiled.

"Why don't you set things right between you too."

They both turned and saw Mr. Gilbert starring at them from the driving mirror.

"You guys should talk things out. It will make you feel better."

"There is nothing to talk about Dad..." said Lucretia as she turned away, plugging her earphones into her ears. She turned the music on and gaze through the window. They both glanced at her and Philip sighed, starring back at Mr. Gilbert. He gave a soft smile and nodded as he communicated with his eyes, assuredly.

"She will come around." he whispered.

Philip looked on and smiled faintly.

The rest of the journey home was of less communication. Philip sat quietly, stealing glances at Lucretia as she didn't want to talk with him.

After about a 30minutes more drive, Mr. Gilbert pulled up in front of the house. Lucretia was he first to get out of the car. Followed by Philip then Mr and Mrs. Woods.

"I'll be in my room." she muttered and strolled away without waiting for a reply from anyone.

Philip stared at her without blinking.

"I think you should get home now Phil..." said Mrs. Angelica, drawing his attention. " Get going now, your mum might be waiting for you. I will try and talk to Lucretia."

He nodded with a faint smile and sauntered off to his house. Mrs. Woods looked on and sighed, his husband wrapping a hand around her shoulder.

"He is going to be okay, let's get in."

"I just don't know what's going on between these two." she said as they trod into the house.

LUCRETIA'S ROOM

She strolled into the room and collapsed on the bed with a sigh in a butterfly pattern, dropping her phone on the bed in the process.

She was starring at the ceiling thoughtfully when her phone rang. She slowly turned her head to where the phone was and picked it from the bed, lifting it up in the air to check the caller ID. She promptly sat up in excitement at the sight of the caller.

"Long time no hear Crystal..."she said. " Are you girls back?"

"Yes Luc..., how have you been? I miss you so much you know?"

"I've been damn...good...I miss you girls too. Have Mimie returned too?"

"Not yet but I heard from her mum that she is on her way since we have school in the next two days."

"Okay, okay, but talk of you. When did you get back?"

"I just got home but couldn't stay without calling you first. Gosh..., I'm so exhausted right now."

Lucretia giggling "I think you better get some rest now. Let's talk later. I'll come over when I'm less busy. We've got a whole lot to catch up on."

"Okay Luc.., talk to you later."

"Sure..." she muttered with a smile and hanged up.

*************

Philip slowly pushed the door opened and glided in. He closed the door behind him, slightly looking down when a familiar voice hit him.

"Back already?"

He lifted his eyes to the direction of the voice and to his surprise, he saw Daisy together with his mother in the living room.

"I have been waiting for you here for like a whole day." said Daisy sarcastically as she trod towards him. Mrs. Raina looked on with a smile.

"I guess I will leave you too to yourselves now." she mumbled and glided upstairs.

They both looked on and just when her back faded upstairs, Daisy gleefully locked her hand around Philip's arms in a ring form.

"I missed you do much..." she muttered wittily, putting her hand on his shoulder. Her face slightly up, starring at his.

"Why didn't you call before coming?" he queried, not looking so happy.

"Oh.., do I need to call before seeing my boyfriend?" she questioned, making a face as she slightly let go off his hands.

"I don't mean it in a bad manner. What if I had kept long in town?"

"So...rr...y...Anyway, I was missing you so much so I came around. Let's go for some snacks. The bills are on me." she uttered with a smile but Philip just stood starring keenly at her.

"Huh? huh? huh?..." she mumbled wittily.

"Okay..." he slightly titled his head in agreement.

She quickly rushed to the sofa and snatched her bag.

"Let's go." she uttered gleefully.

"We are going out out mum...." shouted Philip.

"Okay dear.. " his mother replied and they trod out.

Lucretia was leaning on her balcony, enjoying the breeze when he saw Philip and Daisy sauntered out together with Daisy hand under Philip's arms. She was about to turn back to her room when her eyes met Philip's.

She gave a faint smile and glided back into her room but Philip kept starring at the balcony.

"Are you okay?" questioned Daisy on noticing him.

"Yeah..., let's go." he replied with a smile and they strolled off.

The rest of the day went by without any special happenings. After Lucretia and her family had their supper, she glided back into her room with the plan of going over to Crystal's house but ended up falling asleep.

Mrs. Angelica went over to her daughter's room to remind her of her plans but met her asleep.

"Guess she had a hectic day with all this her roller coaster emotions." said Mrs. Angelica with a smile as she stood at the door.

"Goodnight sweetheart." she muttered as she turned off the light and glided out of the room, slowly closing the door.

It was very late into the night. Lucretia was still fast asleep when she heard some weird sounds. She drowsily opened her eyes and noticed that the sound was coming from the window.

"What could that be...? she mumbled as she rose from the bed and turned on the lamb stand on the drawer beside her bed.

She glided over to the window and was surprised at what she saw.

" Phil...?" she muttered, turning back to look at the clock hanged at the corner of her room. "This late..?" she added, turning back to Philip.

"What the hell are you doing out this late?" she questioned, bemused. she pushed the window opened and glided out into the balcony.

"Can we talk?" he queried.
