Fighting Against Daisy

Jayden and Lucretia got to the central park where the waiter requested to meet them up but saw no one there. They sent their eyes lurking around but saw no one suspicious. Jayden checked his wrist watch and the time he gave them was far past. He scoffed, ruffling his hair in the process. Lucretia glaced worriedly at him and sighed. "Do you think he is going to come? What if he doesn't?"

"Hey–, come down Luc. We have to be positive. Here, let me try his number and see." He reached into his pocket for his phone. He pulled it out and dialed his number. It went but there was no answer.

"Is it not going through?" Lucretia questioned, noticing the blank expression on Jayden's face.

"It is but he is not answering. Let me try again." Lucretia nodded and he went ahead with it. He tried some few more times but there was still no answer.

"I don't think he's gonna come Jay– We better get going now. It's already getting late and I'm sure school will be over anytime soon. We can come again tomorrow."

Jayden stared at the screen of the phone for some seconds and sighed. "Okay, let's go."

Lucretia gave a soft grin, noticing the dark expression on his face. "Hey, come on–. You don't have to be looking like that. It's not like all hope is lost. Remember we've still got the footage here. We can still use that."

"You're alright. Let's get going now." They turned to leave but then, a call from behind them made then stopped in their tracks. "Are you Jayden?" the intruder mumbled quizzically.

******

The principal, Daisy's parents, Daisy and Lucretia's parents sat in the office waiting for the teacher to come to the office with Lucretia. Daisy sat beside her parents shedding fake tears as her parents tried to console her. Mr. and Mrs Woods didn't understand anything that was going on. They had never been summoned to the school urgently like that ever since Lucretia enrolled in it. Besides it all, no one had uttered a word since they entered the office except few pleasantries. The more they looked at Daisy, the more they became confused and impatient.

"Excuse me sir. May we please know the why we were urgently asked to come here?" said Mrs. Woods.

Daisy's mother glared at her with a scoff, about to say something when the door cracked opened with Lucretia's home room teacher walking in. They stared expectantly at her as they saw Lucretia no where with her. "Mrs. Brooks? where is Lucretia?"

"Hmm..sorry sir but Lucretia is no where in the school."

A lighten of shock flashed before Mr. and Mrs. Woods face. "What?" they exclaimed. Their ears couldn't believe what they were hearing.

"Thank you Mrs. Brooks. You can go now." replied the Principal. Mrs. Brooks nodded with a slight smile and excused herself.

Daisy knew from that instant that it's was her opportunity to get Lucretia expelled from the school and there was no way she was going to miss that. She took advantage of the situation and turned things in her favour. She first showed them the video and Mrs. Woods gasped; totally bemused. This was not how she brought up her daughter. She just couldn't believe what was relaying before her eyes. She glanced at her husband who had as by himself also surprised with everything. Lucretia had never uttered a word about all that to them.

Daisy noticing how well her plans were going decided to spice it up with being the good friend who was humiliated trying to get her stray friend back on track. She narrated amidst tears how she tried to talk Lucretia out of it but she ended up being beaten. "She left bruises all over my body mum..." she cried to her mother.

"It's alright sweetheart." she slightly pulled her daughter's head and gently placed it on her shoulder. she brushed her hands through her hair to calm her down and threw a glare at Lucretia's parents.

"How could you allow kids like that school here?" she exuded, face burning with rage as she stared at the Principal. "I want her expelled at this instant before she becomes a bad influence on our kids."

"But Mrs. Park....." Mrs. Woods interrupted, about to say something but Mrs. Park held a hand before her face asking her to hold up with whatever she wanted to say. "I don't think we should come to a conclusion with only one side of this story. It wouldn't be fair on the side of my daughter, Mrs. Park." Mr. Woods intervened.

The Principal noticing how things were heating up chipped in to calm both sides down. "Let's all calm down first." He sighed as he clasped his hands together; leaning on his desk. "Getting Lucretia expelled or not is not for us to discuss about but the disciplinary committee. And you all can be rest assured that this issue will be handled fairly. Mr. Woods..." He called as he turned his attention to Gilbert. "Lucretia will face the disciplinary committee tomorrow and we all have to take whatever the outcome may be in good faith."

"Sure, thank you."

"Welcome Mr. Woods. Have a nice day." They shook hands and they excused themselves to go on with their works and also find the whereabout of their daughter. Mr and Mrs. Woods were the first to walk out of the office. Crystal and Mimie were returning to their locker room when they saw Lucretia's parents leave the Principal's office. They quickly escaped their view as they hurried off to the locker room with the speed of a lighten. They still had about 40 to an hour more before school ends for the day. Mimie quickly brought out her phone and scanned through it for Lucretia's number. She dialled it and waited patiently as it connects.

Lucretia was still talking with Jayden when she heard her phone ringing. She reached into her bag for it. She checked the caller ID and it was from Mimie. Beside that, she noticed that there was numerous missed calls on it but brushed it aside and answered Mimie's call to attend to the other missed calls later.

"Hey tell me, what's going on? Is school over yet and did any of the teachers noticed our absence?"

"There is trouble Luc...?" Mimie sounded urgently on the phone beyond Lucretia's expectations. Her heart instinctively chunk in apprehension.

"What's happened Mimie?"

"Your parents were invited to the Principal's office and he sent Mrs. Brooks for you but you were no where."

Lucretia's eyes flew wide opened, a lighten of shock flashed through her face. "Huh?" she exuded, stunned.

"We just saw them leaving the office and judging from the expression on their faces, I can say things didn't go so well as you know how cunning Daisy is."

Without a warning whatsoever, Lucretia hanged up. She glanced at Jayden with apprehension written all over her face. "Have got to go home now Jay...." she hastily mumbled and raced off.

"Wait Luc..." Jayden mumbled but she was already gone.
