Daisy

Half way through the corridor to the hall, Nikita held Daisy back, making Nelly paused apparently almost bumping into her.

"What are you going to do? You know being furious like this isn't really going to solve anything."

"I know Niki, but what's there to do? Is not like I haven't tried my best."

"Then I think your best is not enough Daisy." she sighed, "Look at you."

Nelly watched quizzically as Nikita and Daisy contemplates on what to do. She chuckled, "Wait girls, are we even suppose to do anything at all? Can't we just leave them alone?" she interrupted and received a glare for it.

"Sorry...." she mumbled.

"I think you should shut it if you have nothing good to say Nelly." she seized her and sauntered away.

Nikita glanced at Nelly with a scornful look, "You should use your head more, Nelly." she rebuked and went after Daisy.

"Hey..., you girls should wait for me." she ran after them. She winced and went after them. This is not anything you girls should be making a fuse about."

20minutes after Daisy left the canteen, the bell rang. Everybody picked up their trays to leave. Lucretia and her friends were not an exception. Just as they glided out of their seats, Philip held Lucretia back. She turned, looking quizzically at him.

"You guys should head to class first. I need to get to my locker before heading to class."

She smiled with a nod, "Alright, don't keep long."

"Sure I won't." He replied and rushed off.

Lucretia smiled to herself and hurried after her friends who had already left to return their trays.

"So what kept you?" questioned Mimie when she caught up with them.

She grinned, "No where..."

Crystal chuckled at her reply, slightly shaking her head as she placed the tray down.

"No where huh?" she smiled at Lucretia and strolled off.

Mimie also gave her a skeptical look and trolled after Crystal.

"Hey...." she hastily placed the tray down and rushed after them. In few seconds, she caught up with them."You girls should stop exaggerating. I'm really telling you the truth."

Mimie and Crystal both smiled sceptically at her.

She chuckled, brushing it off.

"Anyway, where is Jayden? I thought he left with you guys."

"Yeah...He had to pass by Mr. Luck's office before heading to class." replied Mimie.

"Okay..."

"But seriously Luc, what's really going on between you and Philip? Should I be expecting something more?"

"Don't get ahead of yourself Mimie. We are just back to being friends." she winced, "I wish we could be something more than that."

"On a serious note Luc.." she instinctively halted, making Crystal and Lucretia do same. "I think Philip is on the same page with you."

Lucretia cocked her head quizzically, "What do you mean by 'on the same page with me' ?"

Mimie sighed, continuing their walk to the class.

"The thing is, Philip likes you too but doesn't want to admit it."

"What makes you think so? Even after kissing me, he turned out even colder against me. Refusing my calls and all that." she kept ranting, not noticing the surprised look on Mimie and Crystal's face.

"Kiss...!" They chorused, starring bemusedly at her.

"Ye..ah.." she cocked her head sceptically. "It happened during the summer holidays."

By this time, they were at the entrance of the classroom. "Let's talk about it after class."

"You said it yourself, no pulling back. Okay?" said Mimie as they strolled into the classroom.

"Yeah.., I know." she took her seat. So did Mimie and Crystal.

Not long after they took their seats, Philip walked into the classroom with his friends. They staggered to their seats chit chatting. Eugene and Mike took their seats behind Daisy whiles Philip took his seat beside her.

The expression on her face wasn't something to write home about.

"What's this look on your face, Daisy?" He reached for her face but she drew back.

"I'm fine..." she replied.

Just then, the teacher walked in.

"Can we start our lessons?" she placed her books on the desk as she took her stand in front of the class.

"Yes..." the class chorused, putting everything aside.

"Alright, let's open to page 10. We're going to talk about the Ecosystem. We...." the teacher went on with the lesson.

Lucretia noticing that Jayden was not yet back, slightly lowered her head, turning her gaze to Mimie and Crystal.

"Why is Jayden not yet back?" she whispered.

Mimie and Crystal stared at each other for some seconds and shrugged. Lucretia examined their faces for a while wearing a sceptically expression on her face.

"Why are you late to class?" the husky voice of the teacher which interrupted the silence in the classroom made Lucretia turned abruptly.

"Sorry ma'am.., I was called to the principal's office."

The teacher scanned his face for a while and gestured him over to his seat.

"Thank you ma'am..." He slightly bowed and sauntered to his seat.

"Where have you been?" whispered Lucretia as Jayden took his seat.

"In the principal's office."

"Why? What's going on?"

"Well..., " he rummaged through his bag for his book. "It was a call from my Dad." He placed the book on the desk, starring at the teacher in front of them with a divided attention.

"Really...?" Lucretia went on, jotting some notes down from what the teacher was saying.

"Hmm..." she heard him scoff with his eyes still fixed on the teacher.

"Do you want to talk about it?"

"Well..., it's nothing serious. Don't worry your head about it."

"Sure?" she turned to him.

"Yeah, trust me." Just then, Jayden noticed the teacher's stern face fixed on them. "I think you better concentrate now Luc..."

Lucretia winced with apprehension as she instinctively turned to the board. She instantly lowered her gaze at the glance of the teacher's stern look, growling.

"Why didn't you say it earlier."

Jayden chuckled, slightly shaking his head.

The rest of the lesson went on peaceful with no interruptions.

At 3pm, the bell rang.

"See you tomorrow..." the teacher shuffled forward, picking up her books.

"See you Miss Josephine..." the class chorused in unison and the teacher sauntered out.

The class was thrown into a rumpus as the students prepared themselves to leave.

"Are you back to being friends with Lucretia?" questioned Daisy sceptically as she packed her books into her bag.

"Well..., yes. Why do you ask?"

"Oh, nothing. I merely saw you at her table during lunch this afternoon and was wondering."

Philip cocked his head, picking up his bag from the desk as he stood up.

"Would you mind going home alone today?"

She flustered, "Well..., no."

"Alright, see you tomorrow then." He gestured to his friends who followed him up to Lucretia's desk. Nikita and Nelly watched from their desk as Daisy's face instantly contorted with rage.

Nikita hived an inaudible sigh and staggered over to Daisy's desk, followed by Nelly.

"Have you thought on what to do yet?"

There was a subdued silence for some seconds then a smile suddenly brightened up on Daisy's face.

"I think I have a plan."

Nikita and Nelly exchanged looks, "And what's that, if I may ask." queried Nikita.

She turned to them, with a smug look.

"I will befriend her to earn her trust then invite her over to my upcoming birthday party. And that's where everything will take place. What do you think?" she smiled.

With this said, Nikita's face also brightened up with a smile. She slowly cocked her head, giving Daisy a thumbs up.

She also snickered, turning her gaze over to Lucretia and her friends.

"I can't wait to see how mortified her face will look like after this." she smirked.

"I don't think she would ever have the face to even show up in the school again." said Nelly with a chuckle as they stood up to live the class.

"I doubt.." replied Nikita, their giggles fading out of the class.
