A Decision To Make

Lucretia was returning from the washroom, drying her hair with a towel when she heard her phone ringing.

"Who could it be?" she murmured to herself and rushed over to her bed.

She picked the phone and checked the caller.

"Oh Phil..." she uttered and brushed her phone aside. She stood up and left to her wardrobe.

PHILIP'S ROOM

Philip stares at his phone while it connects to Lucretia's line but receives no answer.

"Why is she not picking my calls? I hope she is fine." he uttered worriedly.

He stood up from his bed and moved towards the window which gives direct view to Lucretia's.

He starred at Lucretia's window as the light went off in her room.

"Goodnight little bunny." he muttered and went off to bed.

LUCRETIA'S ROOM

Lucretia laid on her bed starring blankly at her phone.

"Why is he not calling again?" she murmured.

She kept starring quietly for awhile and turned away. She laid straight with her back on the bed starring at the roof. All eyes glued on the illuminating fake stars stuck on the roof.

"What are you going to do Lucretia?" she questioned herself, contemplating on whether to accept Jayden's proposal or not.

Still contemplating on this, a flashback of the morning's incident between Daisy, herself and Philip struck her and tears rolled down her cheeks.

"Why can't you love me Phil? I wish you would see my true emotions for you." she murmured, slowly drifting off to sleep.

PHILIP'S ROOM

Philip laid tossing and turning on his bed thinking about his fight with Lucretia.

"What am I going to do with you Luc?" he murmured to himself and sighed.

He kept thinking for almost 3hours and finally drifted off to sleep.

***********

The morning was so beautiful and bright. Philip woke up early and went for his usual morning runs but returned early this time. He slammed the door opened and met her mother heading towards the kitchen.

"Oh.., why back so early?" queried Mrs. Raina, looking a bit surprised.

"Nothing mum..." he uttered, pecked his mum and dashed off to his room.

"Careful son..." she muttered, slowly turning to watch him in bemusement as his back fades to the stairs that leads to his room.

She shrugged and left off to the kitchen.

Philip pushed his door open and quickly left to the washroom. In no time, he was done. He rushed out of the washroom and swiftly got dressed in his uniform.

Mrs. Raina was setting the dinning table when Philip descended the stairs all dressed up and ready for school. He rushed to the table for his breakfast. His dad soon joined them.

"Why are you so early today son?" Mrs. Raina questioned.

"Nothing mum.., I just had to get to school very early today." he answered with a smile.

"Sure son, you need to study hard for the scholarship." his dad uttered, feeling proud of him.

"So..what about Daisy? Aren't you going to wait for her?" queried Mrs. Raina curiously.

"Well..mum, I'll leave first. Will call her later on my way to school." said Philip, raising from his chair.

"See you after school mum..Bye dad.." he added and dashed out of the door.

THE WOODS APARTMENT

It was around 6:20am when Philip got to Lucretia's house. Mrs. Angelica was in the backyard when she heard the door bell ring.

"I'm coming.." she exclaimed, leaving to the door.

She slammed the door opened and was surprised to see Philip.

"Oh Philip.." she uttered

"Good morning Mrs. Angelica.."

"Good morning dear. Come in.., it's been awhile since we've seen you here like this." she murmured, giving way for him to get in.

He smiles sheepishly and walked in with Mrs. Angelica following after.

"Is Lucretia still asleep?" he queried.

"As usual son, let me get her for you. You know she is such a sleepy head." answered Mrs. Angelica about to head to Lucretia's room.

"No mum..., Can I please do that myself?" he questioned.

"Sure dear.." she replied with a smile.

"Thank you." he replied heading to Lucretia's room.

Mrs. Angelica smiled and left to the backyard again.

Philip got to Lucretia's door and knocked but there was no reply. He slowly pushed the door opened and peeked through and saw Lucretia still fast asleep. He smiled and dashed into the room. He knelt beside her bed starring at her face for awhile.

"Huh.." he mumbled.

Lucretia slowly opened her eyes to meet Philip starring at her with a smile. Startled, she sat upright.

"Phil...., what are you doing here?" she exclaimed.

He smiled and sat beside her on the bed.

"Waking you up of course else you will be late for school." he answered with a grin, his face closer to Lucretia's.

"Crazy..." uttered Lucretia slightly blushing, pushed his face away and got off the bed.

He chuckled and turned his gaze back to where Lucretia stood.

"Why weren't you answering my calls?" asked Philip.

"Well..., I didn't want to talk to a dumb head like you." uttered Lucretia wittily with a shrug.

"Mm..., I see.." he answered skeptically with a nod and stood up from the bed, drawing closer to Lucretia."

"Uhm..., let me see if you are saying the truth." he added, searching Lucretia's face.

"Stop being assertive Phil...,I need to take my bath now." answered Lucretia sarcastically, pushing him out of her room.

"You have to wait for me downstairs Mr. dumb head." she uttered teasingly and slammed the door shut in front of him.

He chuckled slightly and shook his head. He went downstairs and sat in the living room.

"Were you able to wake her?" questioned Mrs. Angelica as came from the kitchen.

"Yes mum.." he uttered turning to her direction.

"She will be out soon." he added.

Mrs. Angelica smiled and nodded dropping the plate she was holding on the table.

It was already 7am now. Lucretia descended the stairs all dressed up with her bag hanging behind her.

"Mum.., I will take my breakfast along." she exclaimed to her mother in the kitchen, packing them into her bag.

"Why not eat before leaving dear?" questioned her mother coming from the kitchen.

"We'll be late mum.." she uttered as her mother neared her.

Mrs. Angelica checked the watch on her wrist and smiled.

"Okay dear.., take care of yourself then." she murmured and pecked her on the forehead.

"Sure mum.., you too." she uttered with a smile.

"Phil.., let's go.." she added swiftly, calling Philip from the living room.

"Huh.." he murmured, took his bag and went over to the door.

"Love you mum.." exclaimed Lucretia as she neared the door.

"Love you too dear." she replied

"Enjoy your day too Philip." she added.

"Sure Mrs. Angelica." he replied.

"And help me take care of Lucretia too." she added.

"Mum..." mumbled Lucretia with a repulsive tone.

"I can take care of myself. I don't need anyone to babysit me." she added and dashed out of the door.

Philip and Mrs. Angelica smiled at each other.

"I sure will mum.." he replied with a grin and dashed out.

"Wait for me Luc.." he exclaimed and went after her. Soon, they arrived at the Bus stop and got on to the bus.

They found an empty seat, sat down and the bus took off. After a while, Lucretia took out her phone, plugged in her earphones and relaxed her back on the seat listening to music. Philip glanced at her quietly for a while, plugged out one of the earphone from her ear and plugged it to his, leaning back. Lucretia slowly turned to his direction and then back to her position.

"I'm sorry about what happened between us the other time." he uttered.

Lucretia turned to him and smiled.

"Never mind Phil.., it was just a misunderstanding. Moreover, Daisy is your girlfriend and it was bound for you to come along with her. I shouldn't have overreacted. I should rather be happy for you that you have a caring and considerate girlfriend." she answered with a grin.

"Thank you Luc." he replied , turned to Lucretia's gaze and smiled.

Lucretia smiled back and nodded. He turned and sat upright again with his back leaning on the the seat and closed his eyes. Diving deep into the music he was listening not noticing that Lucretia was still starring at him.

"Sorry for being such an awful friend lately. I wish I can tell you my true feelings but I'm afraid to lose our friendship. I guess it's better I accept our relationship status as just friends than lose that too." she thought to herself, starring dreamily at him.

She sighed and leaned her back on the seat again.

"The best thing to do now is to accept Jayden's proposal. I will tell him my decision today." she thought to herself and nodded.

***************

After 30minutes of driving, the bus pulled up in front their school. Philip and Lucretia got off the bus. They were heading towards their class chit chatting when Lucretia first saw Daisy approaching them.

"Huh, great. Just who I was hoping to meet. I'm so not ready for those her dramas. I have to find an excuse to take my leave." thought Lucretia sarcastically to herself.

Just then, she saw Jayden walking alone.

"Jayden..." she exclaimed.

Jayden stopped and turned to the direction of the call.

"I've got to go Phil.." she uttered but before Philip could say Jack, she ran off to meet Jayden. Just then, he heard someone call. He turned and it was Daisy.

"Why didn't you wait for me today?" she questioned as she neared him.

"Well...uhm..." he uttered, stammering.

"Is it because of that stupid bitch that's why you left me behind?" she queried indignantly.

"Please...Daisy, Let's not start this. I planned on calling you but I forgot. It was by no means Lucretia's fault. C'mon..chill. I will make it up to you later but now, I have something to talk with Lucretia." he uttered.

But before Daisy could say anymore, he rushed off after Lucretia.

"Philip..." she exclaimed after him but he was far gone.

She stood quietly for a while and smiled schemely.

"You've won this time Lucretia but not anymore. I'm really going to make you pay for this. I will make sure to break every friendship and trust between you and Philip and will make him hate you so much that he wouldn't even wish to see your stupid face." she thought to herself, smiled smugly and dashed off to the locker room.
