A Bad Day

It was a beautiful morning, Lucretia shrugged herself from bed, still drowsy. She checked her time and it was almost 7am. She was used to the sound of Philip waking her up every morning for school.

"I guess I'm by myself today." she sighed, moving to the washroom.

"Lucretia..., are you still on bed?" called Mrs Angelica slamming the door opened.

"No mum..., I'm in the washroom" she answered with her mouth full.

"Okay..dear.., hurry and get down. You are running late for school." she said, dashing out of the room.

"Okay...,mum.."she answered from the washroom.

In no time, Lucretia was done. She rushed out from the washroom, went to the wardrobe and brought out her well ironed uniform and got into it. She sat in front mirror and gathered her hair into a ponytail.

" Good to go." she murmured to herself, pulled her bag that was hanging around her study chair and stormed out of her room.

Lucretia descended the stairs calling her mother.

"Mum...,mum...."

"Yes....dear...,I'm in the Kitchen." she exclaimed.

"Oh....,I thought you were in your room." she answered, moving to the kitchen.

"I'm leaving now mum..." she said, giving her a peck on the cheeks.

"Okay...dear..., oh, I almost forgot. I haven't seen Philip here today, it's unlike him. Is he alright?"

"Yeah...mum..., he had some assignments to complete so he had to leave for school early."

"Oh..... okay...dear, won't you have breakfast first before leaving?"

"No...,mum..., I'm late already. I will get something to eat when I get to school else I'll be late for the bus." she said running off to the door.

"OK... dear..., take care of yourself." she exclaimed after her.

"I will mum...." she answered over her shoulder.

Lucretia got to the bus stop and met the bus almost taking off.

"Sir...sir....., please stop the bus.." she exclaimed, running towards the bus.

Fortunately for her, the driver hears her and halted the bus. She moved to the entrance panting. The driver glared at her with a smile as he opened the door.

"Thank sir..." she replied with a grin and sat in a nearby seat.

"What a great way to start a day." said Lucretia sarcastically.

DALTON HIGH SCHOOL

The bus pulled up in front of the school. Lucretia got off the bus almost bumping into someone.

"So...sorry.." she said without seeing who it was and dashed off into the school.

"Lucretia...., Lucretia....., wait for us." a voice called from behind.

She turned and it was Mimie and Crystal.

"Oh...you girls are also late?"

"Yeah...as usual." said Mimie with a grin.

"Talk about you, you're are usually not late. What happened? why are you coming to school alone. Where is Philip?" asked Crystal with a curious look.

"It's a long story...,will tell you girl later. Let's....."

Krriiiingg

Their conversation was cut by the ring of the bell.

"Shit...., I need to go to my locker first before heading to class. You girls should go first." she said running off.

"Okay.....,don't keep long else Mrs Lordina won't let you into her class." exclaimed Mimie.

"Okay...., I'll be back soon." she replied over her shoulder.

LOCKER ROOM

Lucretia got to her locker and met Daisy already there, standing over her locker.

"Oh great...., Just what I was looking for." she muttered ironically to herself.

Lucretia ignored Daisy and opened her locker.

"How was your night, loser...?" said Daisy with a smirk.

Lucretia just ignored her, took her(Lucretia) book and closed the locker.

"I can see somebody just lost her tongue." said Daisy with a mocking smile.

Lucretia glared down at her and sighed.

"I can see you have enough time to waste Daisy but I don't. I don't waste my precious time on brats like you." she said indignantly with a scornful look.

Daisy got so furious about Lucretia's words.

"Bitch...." she exclaimed furiously, raising a hand to slap her but Lucretia held her hand and pushed it back with great force which made her almost fall to the floor.

"Oops..., are you hurt? asked Lucretia with a smile

"I will get you back for this Lucretia."

"Don't get ahead of yourself girl.., I'm already running late for class, got to go." she replied with a smile. Patting Daisy's shoulder, she dashed off.

"You'll regret for this." exclaimed Daisy.

Lucretia walked off without a word, smiling smugly to herself.

Lucretia got to the class and met Mrs Lordina already in.

"Oh....God....I might be paying for my sins." she muttered to herself and entered the class.

"You're late Miss Lucretia.." said Mrs Lordina, turning everyone's attention to Lucretia.

"Sorry ma'am..., I went to get my books from my locker but my stomach hurt so I went to the washroom."

Mrs Lordina glared skeptically at Lucretia and sighed.

"The next time you're late to my class, I will walk you to the principal's office."

"Yes...ma'am." answered Lucretia.

"You can go to your seat."

"Thank you..." she answered and walked over to her seat.

Lucretia sat on her desk, dropped her books on the table and sighed.

"What kept you long?" whispered Mimie

"Let's talk after the lesson." she whispered back. She turned and met Philip's gaze.

"Are you okay...?" he whispered, looking concerned.

"Yes..." she murmured with a grin and nodded.

Just then, Daisy walked in and without any interrogation or warning, she went over to have her seat beside Philip. Surprised Lucretia glared at her as Philip questions her in whispers.

"Where did you go?" asked Philip.

"I was called to the Principal's office."

Lucretia chuckled slightly, shaking her head.

" Such a cunning bitch" she murmured to herself.

Lucretia and her friends, together with Mike and Eugene were seated at their table having their lunch. Lucretia was into her meal and didn't notice Philip approached their table. He pressed the cold bottle of juice on her cheeks. Lucretia got startled and lifted her eyes to see who it was.

"Phil...."

"Uh..., for you." he said, raised his eyebrows and with a smile, handed over the juice to her.

"Thank you..." she answered with a grin.

"I'm having lunch with Daisy..., will see you later." he said over his shoulder as he walked away.

"Okay....." she said slowly, feeling a little disappointed.

" How much more worse can this day be?" she muttered underneath her breath.

"Lucretia.....?" called Mimie slightly nudging Lucretia with her elbow.

"What's going between Philip and You?"

"Nothing..." she answered, playing dumb.

"No, I mean...., why did you come to school alone today?" echoed Mimie.

"Oh...that...., Philip and Daisy are dating now so they came to school together in Daisy's car." she answered with a shrug.

"What...!?" they exclaimed in unison drawing everybody's attention to them.
