Inside the facility

Ares awoke in a long corridor. The floor was a polished white and looked to be made of marble. He immediately noticed numerous doors lining the walls. There were also corridors regularly branching off in all directions. The doors were all identical and were perfectly flat with no handle visible. Ares was unsure why but he got a feeling of Deja-vu as he glanced around.

Thinking to himself that standing around would only waste his time he decided to go explore. He tried a few doors either side and realised that they were all locked solid. He considering trying to cast void but it seemed risky. He didn't know what effect it may have in this unknown dimension; he therefore decided against it. Having no other options, he began to walk around without a specific direction in mind.

The hallways were almost identical and he slowly began to realise he may be in a labyrinth. From the book he had read in the library, a labyrinth was a huge maze like area in which spells constantly changed the whole area. This kept any unfortunate entrants lost.

As he was wandering aimlessly Ares heard voices in the distance. Praying that he wouldn't be so unlucky to bump into some of the Dark guild, he followed the sound around a corner. Halfway down the corridor were two men arguing; they looked around 16 or 17 years old and both had short cropped blonde hair and thick stubble, despite their facial similarities they were completely different. One looked like a thin giant and the other a short barrel. They were squabbling with each other so loudly they didn't notice Ares.

"I told you we came up here before. Now we are lost!"

"I didn't need your directions, neither of us know where we are!"

As the arguing pair were approached by Ares he decided to make himself known.

"Hello." he said his voice cutting through their shouts.

Both men immediately turned to Ares voice drawing long skinny blades as they turned. They eyed him with suspicion.

After a short standoff one of them said.

"Who are you?" he asked.

"Im Justin from the Space guild." Ares said putting his hands up in a surrendering gesture. He figured that Justin wouldn't mind him stealing his identity for a little bit.

Ares was already wearing his gauntlets despite being outnumbered he wasn't particularly concerned. He thought he was probably one of the more powerful people within the facility, if he couldn't win a fight he could always run.

The two men seemed more at ease with Ares identifying himself, after glancing at each other they both put their weapons away.

"Sorry, you cant be too careful." One of them said shrugging. Despite this both of them hadn't relaxed their guard. The thin one even still had his hand on his blade ready to act.

Ares nodded in acknowledgement; if he didn't know someone, he would likely be just as cautious.

"So, who are you guys?" Ares asked. The other two were clearly somehow related to each other.

"Oh yeah, forgot to introduce ourselves; we are from the Earth Rock Guild. We got lucky when we arrived and I ended up finding this idiot." The short man said.

The other man rolled his eyes.

"To answer your question, im Sky and this is Jason." Sky said. They were distinguishable by their height and weight. Sky was tall and skinny and Jason was shorter and fatter.

Ares nodded, now he knew they were not part of the dark guild he felt a bit less pressure.

"So Justin, have you had any luck getting through the doors?" Jason asked Ares a hopeful look on his eyes.

"I haven't tried any magic, but every door I've tried so far is shut solid." Ares confessed.

"Why haven't you tried magic? That was the first think we did. Look." Jason said. He crouched before thrusting a hand at a white door next to them. A sharp jagged rock grew from the floor before spearing into the door impacting loudly. After a second the jagged rock collapsed disappearing. The door remained shut not a blemish on its surface.

"You're an idiot; we already knew that wouldn't do anything." Sky said, grimacing as the sound reverberated around the corridor.

"I was showing Justin." Jason shrugged.

Ares thought it wasn't a surprise that magic didn't work. He pointed at the same door and muttered "Void." it was worth seeing how it would react to his magic now he knew it was safe. As he cast the spell void flew off in a black marble and collided with the door.

Unlike Jason his spell hit the door silently. The door slightly shuddered for a second before absorbing the black spell.

Ares shrugged.

"Guess my magic is useless too." He said. Sky and Jason nodded in agreement. However the door continued to shudder and a red glow started emitting from its surface.

"What's going on?" Jason said staring dumbly at the door.

Ares too was wondering what was happening. A foreboding feeling was quickly beginning to sink in as the glowing red began to get stronger.

A grinding sound started to emit from the door as a mechanical arm reached through the door and reached into the corridor.

Ares didn't need to think before he turned to start running.

"RUN." He said to the two still standing staring at it. After hearing his shouts both seemed to realise that this was a bad thing and took off after him.

The grinding continued as they ran around a random corner. A clunk was heard and then a skittering sound started to follow them. It sounded like something that had more then a couple of legs. Whatever it was it was quickly gaining on them the sounds getting closer.

Even after a short period Jason was struggling the most. Jason the shorter one clearly hadnt focussed on his body and he was already panting after a matter of seconds. When they rounded another corner he turned on his heel and faced the corner.

"Quake." He cast as he pulled from the celling. Ares and Sky turned to look as a stone like protrusion fell from the celling and covered the pathway.

"That should slow whatever that is down." Jason said jogging back towards them.

It was clear whatever it was had arrived behind the stone as the skittering sound stopped. Having gone a fair distance down the corridor the group stopped and looked back at the blockage. Ares leant against a wall as he tried to stabilise his breath.

"What the hell is that?" Sky said looking to Ares for answers.

Ares was about to explain that he didn't have a clue when a loud bang came from the blocked entry. Two long metal like legs had speared through the blockage and were making quick work of the rock, the legs were currently widening the hole already made. After a matter of seconds a metal monstrosity crawled through the gap; it had more than ten metal legs and a wide metal body. It glowed with a red hue. It looked like a Demonic Metal Spider.

Hoping he might get lucky Ares threw a void spell in its direction. The spell evaporated the second it met its body; not mark of damage. Without waiting another second the whole group began to sprint away once more being chased by the Spider.
