Magic

It's been a day whole day since Noah woke up. he looked around the village to find something that would help him survive, the villagers all died yesterday because of his skill but their house are intact.

He learned a few things about mana and magic from the memories of Noah, everyone has mana inside them and they could use it to some extent but very few chose the path of a magician or a mage.

A mage is the one who wields mana to combat others, the stories Noah's mother used to tell him when he was young, she used to mention about mages that could destroy a whole army alone.

This just made the current Noah even more excited to learn about magic, but he can't learn it now if he were to keep living in this village.

He might be a six-year-old but he needs to get out of this village. he has to take everything he can that would aid him in his journey from the houses of the villagers.

There is a type of magic called Runes which the villagers use for various purposes, the Runes are divided into various Tiers.

The villagers used tier-0 Runes to preserve their foods which is similar to refrigerators from Cyrus's previous world. The resources such as food are preserved here so he didn't need to worry about that.

Normally the villagers could only use tier-0 Runes as they were not mages but mages could use higher tier runes.

'I wonder what the other Runes are capable of.' Thought Noah

As of right now, he couldn't even use tier-0 Runes but he plans to follow the path of a mage, but to do that first he needs to leave this village, the problem is the presence of magic beasts or commonly known as monsters.

This village is located in a rather safe territory and no monster attacks here but that doesn't mean there are no monsters around it, Noah will have to take a huge risk if he were to move outside but he can't stay in this village forever.

'Usually, I won't take unnecessary risks but I need to do this one time.'

Another day has passed and Noah stood in front of the village gates, fully prepared to head outside, from what he remembers from Noah's memories there is a path that leads to the city where the awakening ceremony was commenced.

There are various orphanages that would take kids like Noah and would also teach them magic if they want to follow the path of a mage, his priority is to enter one of the orphanages. he is just a six-year-old kid and he knows that he can't survive alone so getting into an orphanage and learning magic sounds like a solid plan to him until he grows up and became stronger.

What Noah is currently wearing could hardly be considered clothes in his previous world but it is clothing here, the clothes he is wearing are Noah's spare clothes that he took from his house, they are basically a T-Shirt and pants made up of rags and a wooden slippers.

He also has a small bag made up of leather and some other materials filled with food and a bamboo water bottle.

Noah also took two kitchen knife's as weapons, he knows these won't be helpful in a real battle as he is just a six-year-old kid but he still took them with him just to be safe

"Well, let's go then"

Noah then started walking out of the village. he hoped to learn magic and he really never wanted to return back to this village.

He knew the path to the city more or less from Noah's memories so he doesn't think he would have a problem reaching the city safely but he still can't be too sure.

'And as for the name that I am going to use, well I took over Noah's body so I am Noah now.'

Reaching the city usually takes three hours by foot from the village and Noah has been walking for so long but I haven't reached it yet.

Usually, the villagers walked to the city on foot and since no carriage comes and goes to Noah's village there is no permanent path in the woods that leads to the city.

Only a few knights occasionally drop at the village on horses to collect the taxes and other than else the village is rather cheerful and lively without interacting with the outside much.

Some people usually go to the city to sell the products produced in the village and that's all, looks like the villagers memorized the path to the city by continuously traveling back and forth.

Suddenly a sound came from the bushes, Noah immediately took out his knives from his pockets and held them like daggers.

He channeled mana through them and an ethereal golden glow surrounded the knives, this is the only magic skill he knows of, or he was able to perform it because he is an adult with scientific knowledge from my past life otherwise it had been impossible.

Noah merely increased the slashing and piercing power of his blade, it's not much but for a six-year-old kid it is. he took a fighting stance ready to slash at my opponent waiting for it to reveal itself.

After some time from behind the bushes, a white rabbit came hooping, the rabbit looked rather adorable and the single white horn over its forehead made it even more adorable.

As soon as the rabbit saw Noah it jumped over towards him revealing its claws and fangs as it made its intentions very clear.

Noah swung his knife and slashed the rabbit's head in half, the rabbit fell down while Noah jumped back claiming his shaking hand down.

This rabbit is called a one-horned-rabbit, they are low-level monsters that like to feed on the flesh of others, had Noah not killed it then it would have bitten him to death, the good thing is that they are weak monsters that could even be killed by the likes of Noah and the villagers.

After calming himself down Noah looked at the rabbit that he killed only to find out its head split in half and its brain visible to the naked eye, blood spilled all over the grass, and pieces of its flesh spread over.

When he looked at that he immediately got disgusted and puked.

He may be a twenty-year-old man in a six-year-old kid's body but never in his life, he has killed a rabbit-like this.

He needed to get used to all of this, these were the thoughts of Noah. After all, killing is common in this world, not to the point of ruthless slaughter but still more common from his previous world.
