A REGISTER PAGE

I yawned as I sat up in bed. My long, black hair was all tangled. I quickly brushed my hair, and it went back to perfection soon enough. I touched my bangs, then tried to shove them to the sides of my face. Nope, they flopped right back into position. I sighed, and tugged on a black sweatshirt over my T-shirt. I pulled off my leggings in one clean motion, and tossed them to the side, then I tugged on some black ones. I glanced in the mirror. My bangs half-covered my pale blue eyes, which almost seemed to glow. I tapped my watch once, and some ramen slid out of a compartment in the wall. It was still piping hot. I retrieved my lucky chopsticks from the ground. I started to chomp down on the ramen. I turned on my computer, using my feet to direct the mouse. I slowly typed in the passcode, pointing my toes for increased ease. Soon, my computer unlocked, but a loading symbol popped up as soon as it did. After a whole thirty seconds, it finished loading. And there I saw it. Next to a little square with rounded corners, with a phone chat scrawled on it, the icon of InstaChat, I saw the little red circle, and in it white text read, 99+. Over ninety nine messages on InstaChat. I clicked on it, and opened my chat with Rowan, who tended to spam text me.

Her latest text read, "You need to listen Nike!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

So, I scrolled up, until I saw an area repeating the same exact thing, "Download the game Virtual Death!!!!!!"

Accompanying that message, a link was always there to the game. Or, at least I assumed. I clicked it, and it brought me to an article about Virtual Death. Apparently, in order to use the game, you must log on before Sunday, April 20th, 3000 at 12:00pm. Currently, it was Sunday, April 20th, 3000.

"What's the current time?" I asked, and as soon as I did, a blue hologram appeared from my computer, reading 2:59am.

Attending it, a voice with an Australian accent answered my question, "2:59am, anything else I may help you with?"

I responded aggressively, "No, can you stop adding the stupid 'Anything else I may help you with?' at the end of your responses?"

"Yes, I've just finished disabling it, thank you for the feedback!" The voice exclaimed, in an oddly cheerful voice.

On the site it also declared that there was a need to purchase special clothes to feel what is currently occurring in the game, and a headset for eyesight, smell, hearing, and taste. Along with that, there was a link to the website where to buy all that stuff from. I clicked on it, by now I had set aside my ramen, and had brought all my attention to the computer. I pressed down on the buy button once I had selected a sufficient amount of clothes. Then I focused on finding a pretty headset. Once I found the one of the perfect mix of simplicity and of design, I bought it in an instant.

I waited for a few seconds before the same Australian voice exclaimed, "Your items will arrive in thirty seconds precisely!"

And sure enough, exactly thirty seconds after the voice came on, a compartment popped out of the wall, and deposited all the items right beside me, with a robotic arm.

The familiar voice of the computer then spoke, "Your package has arrived!"

I smiled, and ripped open the box, tossed off my clothes, and plunged my body into the clothing. Once I had finished that task, I quickly placed the headset on my head. Then, I went back to the site which had given me all the information. Soon I found a link to the register page. I clicked it, and found the register page. On it was a beautiful image of anime characters sparring under a cherry tree blossoming with bright pink flowers. And there was a big blue button positioned right in the middle of the picture. On it, white text read in large letters, REGISTER. I carefully clicked it, and the same scene was there, but now, there was an even larger rectangle, which had white text on it, which read, Eight hours, 25 minutes, and 32 seconds until starting. It updated every second. I quickly did the math and figured out it must be 3:35am. Yes, I didn't just ask my computer. I'll admit, I enjoyed math.

Thanks for choosing this book to read! Stick around for more!!!
