Chapter 09

It was raining, drenching the big city. Make some people who pass by take shelter in the place they're met. Looks so disappointed because the rain that has not stopped falling since six o'clock. But not for Violin, the girl didn't stop giving thanks to the sky that was willing to lower those clear grains from up there, because today is mathematics, a lesson where it is difficult for her to understand for the umpteenth time. Especially the teacher who for some reason doesn't stop pointing at her to go upstairs and fill in the answers, after that there will be some smart students who laugh when the answer is wrong. It was really annoying, so she didn't stop praying during the lesson, hoping that there would be heavy rain accompanied by lightning, so that the teacher was not present because her vehicle was carried by the wind, Violin didn't care.

However, what was even more annoying was that she had to go back to waiting for the bus to stop with her school uniform without any help that would protect her uniform from the heavy rain. The reason is, the car that used to take her to school hasn't fully recovered, it's still in the service stage, who knows when the Violin will finish, she's doesn't know that.

Standing near the iron by leaning her body there, because the bus stop bench was full, made her grumble in annoyance because her legs were starting to feel cramped. Coupled with the strong wind that pierced her skin to the bone, making her have to rub her hands non-stop to get the warmth from there.

She didn't stop grumbling in her heart, because she came too soon because of her mother's demands. Something was really wrong, why didn't the woman who was almost forty years old order her child a taxi? Violin asked that, and the answer she received was beyond reason.

"Once in a while, you feel how my mother used to be in school, before even my mother was just waiting for the bus wasn't as crowded as it is now. Also, usually on the bus you'll get to make a lot of acquaintances."

Gasping every time she had to remember the words that came out of her mother's mouth, Violin bent her face there, eliciting a response even though her mother didn't see it.

"Acquaintance from where, instead I'm trapped here!" Small grumble.

Until the cold that was getting more and more piercing, made her face feel frozen as if she was in the middle of winter. Violin sneezed a few times, rubbed her reddened nose, felt the hairs on her neck stand up. Blame herself for not listening to the advice of her mother who told her to bring a jacket or at least a hoodie.

"It's so cold again." She said, until unconsciously a man in a gray hoodie was standing right next to her. Staring at Violin's presence for a moment with his two eyes, Leo just shrugged nonchalantly when he heard a sneeze from the girl next to him.

Two minutes passed, they waited for about that long, until the bus they were waiting for arrived, carrying several students who were sitting quietly up there, complete with the jackets they were wearing. It seems, it's just the Violin who doesn't wear an extra cloth that will warm her body.

All legs competed to enter the bus, choosing the seat their had always wanted so that only two empty seats were left side by side at the back. Leo turned his head, looking at the few students who hadn't gotten a seat and would probably be sitting side by side with him. However, what he got was the presence of Violin who was still walking towards him with slow steps, hugging her own body with slightly pale lips. Leo rolled his eyes in exasperation, put his hands in his Hoodie's pockets, he walked over to the empty seat.

Standing for a moment while choosing to sit near the window, but seeing not a few male students on the bus, made him prefer to land his buttocks on the seat next to him. Even though they are at the back, but who can keep their eyes on each other? Even Leo was able to find the eyes of men his age who were already staring wildly at the woman who was near them. Strangely, Leo didn't care, but he didn't seem to accept that the person was a Violin.

"L-leo? Hi, can I sit next to you? Everything is full." Still rubbing her arms with her arms crossed, Leo lifted his head, staring at the pale face of the Violin. Not making a sound in response, Leo simply changed his position, as if to signal that the Violin could enter.

"Thanks."

The distance from the bus stop to school is quite far, therefore usually many will arrive early, and the bus will also arrive quickly before school starts. It may take about forty to fifty minutes to reach the destination.

Ten minutes passed quietly, neither of them spoke. Actually, Violin wanted to get him to communicate, as was her habit that always bothered Leo, not allowing him to breathe easy for a moment. She will continue to tell stories, tell stories about herself or even make jokes that are clearly the only ones laughing.

Feeling the body of the girl beside him trembled slightly earlier, with the hair covering her face, made Leo's attention seem to be locked on the girl next to him. Violin's silence had managed to raise a question mark in his head, though he didn't think much of it himself. However, remembering Violin with her pale face, made his hand slightly move to reach that shoulder. However, before being able to touch Violin's move, the girl had already turned around which required her to lower her airborne hand back down.

"Leo, sorry but-"

"Vi, are you okay?" Cut Leo.

She received a brief nod, his eyes caught Violin's pale lips moving slowly to say something.

"Sorry but, can you hug me? I-I'm so cold, it's okay for five minutes." Her pale lips led her to finish her stammering words, leaving Leo feeling confused. Feeling strange with himself, on the one side he tried to ignore the girl all this time, but on the other side it was like something was pushing him to nod his head.

Suddenly, his hands moved quickly to grab the girl's frail body, wrapped his arms around Violin's shoulders, and the girl who was blowing her own hands in Leo's arms.

Leo's long-fingered palms moved slowly to caress the back, even though he did it half-heartedly, not completely sincere because he was still confused with himself.

Violin could neutralize her breath in that embrace, feeling Leo's warm body wrapped in a hoodie, could smell the strawberry and vanilla scent of Leo's body every time she took in oxygen.

"Lee, sorry if I overslept, but please wake me up when we're get there." She said in a small voice in the man's arms.

Again, he felt his breath catch, Leo didn't know what to answer. However, seeing the Violin who lost her spirit and health today made him not have the heart. Feeling uncomfortable if he's don't find the excitement that the girl usually shows in public.
