Chapter 35: Mo Fan's Time to Shine

Facing the taunts from Fatty Luo Song, Mo Fan casually stepped forward, unfazed by the provocation.

Except for Jiang Yunming, who had some "understanding" of Mo Fan, the other six students were completely clueless about him. They noticed that Mo Fan hadn't joined them earlier and now he was walking up alone. To them, it was obvious—he wanted to show off.

And honestly, they weren't wrong. Mo Fan was indeed ready to show off! But unlike others, it wasn't about seeking dominance or mating rights. What he wanted was simple—the resources.

The rest of the summoning students felt contempt for him. Everyone had shared information about their summoned creatures, but Mo Fan had kept to himself, not engaging with them at all. Some of them had even considered giving up on the first semester's resources. Though they didn't think highly of Mo Fan, they didn't mock him out loud—after all, they had only just started school, and Mo Fan hadn't shown much interest in socializing.

Not everyone was as arrogant as the fire mage in their dorm, who acted like he owned the place just because he had an impressive awakening.

Before confronting Luo Song, Mo Fan turned to Principal Xiao with a question. "Principal, I have a query before we start."

Mo Fan wasn't worried about fairness—Principal Xiao was known to be just. But it was better to clarify things upfront so he didn't scare away the competition later. After all, he was in it for the resources.

"Go ahead." said Principal Xiao.

"We, in the summoning department, have to defeat 100 opponents to keep our resources. If we don't, our resources get distributed to the other departments. Doesn't that seem a bit unfair? We lose, and the others get our resources, but if we win, we only keep what's already ours." Mo Fan questioned loudly.

Principal Xiao smiled and glanced at the other department heads. "Mo Fan, that's a good question. We've actually thought about that. After defeating 100 opponents, there's another rule. If the summoning students can withstand an attack from 200 challengers, then all the training resources from every department will be awarded to the summoning department!" Principal Xiao's voice echoed across the arena.

This revelation sent the audience into a frenzy. Everyone knew the summoning department faced a harsh penalty if they couldn't defeat 100 opponents, but no one had heard that if they managed to defeat 200, they could claim all the resources from the other departments!

Ten departments, with over 4,000 students, and all their resources would go to just the seven students of the summoning department? That was insane!

"The reason we didn't announce this rule is simple: in all the years of our academy, no group of summoning students has ever achieved it." Principal Xiao continued.

One of the department heads, Zhou Zhenghua, the head of the earth department, grimaced. "Even I didn't know about this rule." he said, while the other department heads looked equally baffled.

"All right, your question has been answered. Anything else?" asked Principal Xiao.

"No, that's all." Mo Fan replied, shaking his head as he stepped forward. But before moving towards Luo Song, he addressed the entire audience, ignoring Luo Song completely.

"I don't have any more questions, but I do want to make something clear to everyone here." Mo Fan spoke loudly, his voice carrying across the arena. The crowd was still in shock from Principal Xiao's revelation and hadn't yet recovered.

"I tend to use up more resources than the average mage." Mo Fan said, "So, I'm sorry to say… I'm going to need all the resources this year."

"And if anyone has a problem with that, feel free to come at me, whether it's three of you, thirty, or even a hundred at once." he added smugly.

The arrogance in his voice was unmistakable, as if he didn't see any of the academy's 4,000 freshmen as a challenge.

For a moment, the entire arena went silent. Then disbelief spread across everyone's faces—students, teachers, and staff alike. They were frozen in shock. Principal Xiao had just said no one in the history of the academy had ever achieved this, yet here was Mo Fan, a mere summoning student, casually proclaiming that he would defeat 200 challengers.

Who was this guy? Did he have any idea what it meant to be bombarded by spells from dozens of mages at once? Sure, everyone could act cocky, but this was beyond ridiculous.

Even among the summoning students, some began to doubt Mo Fan. A burly student named Hai Dafu muttered dismissively, "This guy's all talk."

Another student chimed in, "He's just trying to get attention. He didn't even dare step up earlier."

But a quieter student, Zheng Bingxiao, the class leader, spoke up, "Maybe… maybe he really does have the strength for this?" Although even he found Mo Fan's bravado a bit much, he was always the type to give others the benefit of the doubt.

Meanwhile, over in the light magic department, Zhao Manyan was watching from a distance, thinking, "This guy's crazy… but does he really have the skills to back it up?"

No one, however, was more furious than Luo Song. He was a mid-level mage, and here was this little upstart summoning student acting like he didn't even exist. Luo Song had come to steal the show, but Mo Fan was trying to upstage him!

"You're really asking for it! Summon your creature!" Luo Song roared, his face twisted with rage.

"Hey, don't wet yourself, fatty." Mo Fan teased with a smirk.

"You Bitch!"

Luo Song was on the verge of exploding with fury. He had never been so insulted in his life. Who did Mo Fan think he was?

Without wasting any more time, Mo Fan calmly drew a star track with his hand.

A silver glow formed in the air, and moments later, a chilling wolf howl echoed from within the rift of another dimension.
