With her normal get up of wearing a plain shirt and jeans, together with her rubber shoes. Her black jacket's hood was put on her head, it was big enough to cover half of her face.
She walked in to the Wright Company, just as she went in. The receptionist furrowed their brows wondering who was this person.
No one could just enter the building farther if they have no prior appointment. The telephone rang, to their surprise the call came from Kyle who was also in the building.
He had informed them that they should leave the girl in black jacket with a silver mask alone. So no one tried to stop Amber as she went straight to Ashton's floor.
Guards and soldiers were lined up in front of an office door. It was tightly shut, among these people were Blake, Devon and Aldger.
They were on the edge, after their attack last night where they were stopped getting the person they wanted to get, for Gideon Wright have stopped them. Ashton had been inside the office not giving them any command.
And even though they were outside, they could feel the dangerous aura from the inside. They had been standing there since midnight but no one could complain, no one could say anything to the one inside.
They then heard the elevator opening because of the current pin drop silence.
In between the private elevator to the office and the office door, there was a hall that was one fourth of a basketball court, in size.
She was wearinig a simple white shirt and jeans matched with a white converse. Her chestnut colored hair was tied in a ponytail and her amber colored eyes, behind the silver mask, were looking at every person inside.
She had removed her hood during the elevator ride.
Of course the soldiers have released an oppressive aura towards her.
"Shut it down will you, I am not here to play with you. I need to see that prince of yours," she rolled her eyes as she raised her left hand.
She was not in the mood to explain so she decided to just show her ring, which the three obviously have recognized.
"What are you all doing, give way. That is our sister-in-law," Devon's eyes grew wide as he commanded them.
Amber walked towards the front.
"He locked himself up?" she looked up at them and pointed at the door.
"Yes, since midnight. But what's with the mask?" Blake replied but couldn't help and ask pointing at her mask.
Ashton's family knew of her mask but Blake and the others didn't.
"We can talk about that some other time," Amber replied as she knocked on the door.
"Ashton, open the door. It is me your beloved fiance. I am finally here to be by your side."
The stoic faces of the soldiers were about to crack by her sudden words.
They never met her, they only knew that the young master has a fiance and according to Blake and the others, she was peculiar.
Amber's eyebrow raised after getting no reply. She tried to knock more but still there's still none.
After a deep breath she looked back at Blake and the others, she was even smiling. But her smile sent shivers down their spines.
She extended her hand, "Can I borrow your gun?"
"A- Amber, calm down. W- We can talk about this..." Blake replied.
"Either you give me your gun or I'll take it from you. Choose," Amber's eyes squinted and she smiled more sweetly.
But they knew, Devon and Blake who experienced it firsthand, this sweetest smile of her is the most dangerous.
With a gulp, Blake handed her his gun.
"Magnum, nice."
She then faced the door once again and knocked, "Ashton, I'll count to five. If you don't open the door I'll shoot it."
The soldiers face finally cracked and they all looked at her agape. Of course the door was bulletproof but the doorknob could still be opened once it was shot by a gun. Multiple times that is.
No response.
"1..."
Still nothing.
"2 3 4 5," she continued lazily.
Multiple gunshots was then heard until all the bullets in Blake's gun were finished.
Once more everyone's mouth were agape. Isn't it that when you threaten with a count it would be in a slow manner? Why is it that her counting was fast?
"Don't look at me like that, I never said how fast I would be counting," she looked at them and passed back the gun to Blake.
But before going inside, "One more thing, no matter what you hear from inside. Don't come in."
After that she entered. And just as she did,
*BLAG*
The door was closed and she was slammed to the wall. She still couldn't help but wince, after how many years of having no illness. Her body's numbness to pain started disappearing.
Right now, a very ferocious pair of eyes are looking at her as if ready to devour her.
"I already told you didn't I, that look won't work on me."
"You're bold, aren't you? Is it because of the contract? I could just kill you right now you know that."
His voice was ice cold and blood thirsty, his eyes were black holes of hell. His aura screams of danger. And if it were anyone else, they would have runaway or lost all their strength.
But Amber was different, she had prepared herself to the changes that might happen to Ashton due to the events that just passed. She knew, he would fall in such a state. She knew he was but a fragile person.
She squinted her eyes, she held his hand and his focus was transferred there. But instead, with a fast move, she held his head and pulled it towards her.
With all the strength that she could manage, she hit her forehead unto his. And being caught off guard, Ashton was unable to stop this.
The sudden attack, brought dizziness to the two of them. But he still stretched his hand to grab her, to which she held and using his own force she pulled him into a backthrow.
Landing on his back, she followed it by sitting down on him and grabbing his collar, "WHAT IN THE DAMN WORLD ARE YOU DOING?!?!?!"
She shouted angrily, "You think senseless blood thirst is all you need to get revenge? Where did that smart mind of yours go to? Did you lose your brain somewhere and relied entirely on your wild instincts?"
He was about to speak when she headbutt him all over again, "Damn that hurts."
She complained and blood was already trickling down from her forehead, tainting her silver mask. Ashton's were no better, blood tricked down as well.
"Aren't I here? Aren't your friends here? You don't have to handle everything on your own, pushing everyone away. How many times must I tell you that?"
She then shook him as she held his collar tighter, "I am here to stand beside you and protect you as well. I was just not beside you for six years and you have already scared one precious person witless?"
Ashley who called her sounded so terrified back then.
She let him go and stood up, she towered over him and pointed her finger towards his face, "I will protect you, remember that. And I'll start it with what is going on right now."
She opened her palm to him, "Get up."
Ashton, whose senses have returned to normal, could only stare at her as he accepted her hand. He was on a bloodthirsty mode a while ago that it didn't really sink into him that she was there.
He knew she was, but at the same time, it was his ferocious state that registered it.
She didn't let his hand go and pulled him to the sofa, she pushed him to sit down on one side while she sat on the other.
"Here," she patted her lap and looked at him.
But Ashton was still staring blankly at her. And with a click of her tongue, she pulled his head and allowed him to use her lap as a pillow.
"I've heard that you haven't sleep for the past two days. So sleep, then maybe you will have a clearer mind. And understood that your grandfather have done the right thing by stopping you."
As she said this she pulled out a handkerchief and wiped the blood from her forehead and her mask after wiping the little blood on his face.
Ashton extended his hand and touched her mask, not minding the wound she just wiped blood off.
"I'll explain this to you some other time, for now go on and sleep," she used her hand to close his eyes as she started patting his head.
He knew of course of the incident but since she trusts them with her identity she plans on telling them the real reason behind it.
He didn't know he was truly that tired until he felt a sense of calmness spreading from where she was patting him. Slowly his breathing turned even.
Since she had Blake's number she just texted him to come in.
His head poked inside and looked around and was shocked to see the lion sleeping soundly on her lap.
'Ah, what happened? Why is there suddenly a sweet scene in front of me? I was ready to see a bloody one, you know,' he thought as he approached them.
"Get everyone to rest and cancel all his meetings for the next two days."
He stared at her, not once did he thought that this little one could be a little lioness, he didn't know how she did it but she was able to tame him. And for some reason, he found himself respecting her even more.
"I understand, sister-in-law."
