Xiang Yu immediately noticed the printed paper on the table. The twins had put a lot of effort into jotting down this oath, covering every possible basis. The oath seemed more favourable to him than to Han Xin. It looked like if he hadn't walked in on them, they would have sealed the oath with a blood pact.
Xiang Yu picked up the paper and said, "You have to go to bed."
Lian nodded, blowing out her candle and shooting Han Xin a warning glance. Han Xin easily understood her silent threat to sign the oath. Mei said, "Goodnight, older brother." Lian glanced at Mei's candle and blew it out for her. Mei moved the candle away, yelling, "Hey!" but it was already too late. The light had gone out with a soft wisp of smoke curling into the air.
"Why did you blow out mine?" Mei demanded.
Lian defended herself, "I am saving on candles. They cost money, you know."
