“Sorry, can I ask what Damon wanted to talk to you about?” Evan asks, changing the subject because he’s not sure he wants to talk about his ex-boyfriend with his current lover.

“He mainly wanted to ask about you, what I thought of you, if we could trust you.” Rene shrugs, and Evan has a feeling he’s not being told everything, but he’s not telling Rene all about Adam, so he can’t demand Rene tell him everything.

“I hope you only had good things to say,” he replies.

“Well, I gave him an edited version of what I think of you. I couldn’t say I found you attractive and I really like having sex with you. I think his fur would turn gray if I told him that.” Rene snorts.

“So it went okay, though? He doesn’t think anything is up?” Evan asks.

“I don’t think he has any idea that we’re sleeping together. And I think as much as he doesn’t trust humans, he does believe you’re here to help us.” Rene nods.

“Good. I don’t want to cause you any trouble.”
