Birthday Party

Around five o'clock in the evening, Jack was drinking coffee. His mother came to him. 

She said, " Today we are invited in a birthday party of your father's friend's son. So, get ready. We will leave after an hour for the party." 

Jack said, " Mom, i am not in mood of attending any party. I want to stay at home." 

Jack's mother said, "We will return by afternoon tomorrow.Then how will you stay alone at home."

Jack said, " Mom, it's not a problem. I can stay alone. It's only a matter of one night only." 

Jack's mother said, " Okay. No problem, if you can stay alone. I will prepare your dinner and put it in refrigerator. But listen very carefully, don't open the gate if anyone comes in the night.under this condition only, we will allow you stay at home." 

Around seven o'clock, they left for the party.Jack closed the gate and came in his room. He opened his laptop and started surfing some sites. He was all alone in the home. So, he was getting bore. He thought to call Elena. He was missing her so much because college was closed and he couldn't meet her. He dialled her number. She picked up his call. 

Jack said, " Hello..Elena.what's up? " 

Elena replied, " Hi. Jack. I was just talking to my friends on social media. What about you? " 

Jack got sad because whenever she mentioned friend, Drake came in his mind. 

He said, " I am getting bore. Actually, i am alone at home. Mom, dad and sister went to a birthday party. They will return tomorrow." 

Elena said, " So are you scared?" and she laughed. 

Jack said, " I am not a kid that I will scare of anything. I was feeling loneliness. So, i thought to call you for talking." 

Elena said, " Had your dinner? " 

Jack replied, " Not yet. After hanging the call, i will go for dinner." 

They talked for almost an hour. They hung up the call. Jack was very happy. He looked outside through the window. It was full moon hanging in the sky. He went to kitchen for the dinner and came on the dining table with a plate full of his favourite dish. 

Suddenly, someone rang the door bell. He looked through the peephole of the door, an elderly man was standing outside. He had never seen him before. So, he didn't open the door. Jack didn't say anything. He was continuously ringing the bell. That man waited there almost an hour. 

Jack was scared. He came in his room and laid on his bed. After few minutes, he fell asleep. 

It was one o' clock, Jack got up from his sleep. There was long hairs on his whole body, strange patches appeared here and there, fully fur sprouted from every inch of his body. Large, hairy, dangerously clawed hands, a slimy and dog saliva-like substance was oozing out along with blood from his snapping joints. He came near the window, looked at moon and started howling loudly. He started scratching the door to open it. But it was locked from the outside. He screamed, started throwing the things here and there inside his room.

" Good morning Jack, get up dear. It's time for the breakfast." Jack's mom said. 

Jack opened his eyes and looked around. It was sunlight all around.He looked at the clock. It was nine o'clock. 

Jack asked, " Mom how did you come so early in the morning? You were going to come in the afternoon." 

Mom said, " We came in the night itself at 11 o'clock. You were sleeping. That's why we didn't wake you up." 

Jack asked, " But how did you enter the home? " 

Mom laughed and said, " Did you forget how does your father enter the home when he does party late night with his friends and comes late and we decide not to open the gate for him? " 

Jack smiled and said, " You are right mom because he always has a spare key of the lock." 

Mom said, " Exactly. " 

She told him to join them for the breakfast and went away. 

He stood up and went near the mirror. Everything flashed back in his mind about the last night. He became restless. He couldn't understand whether it was a dream or reality. 

He went for the breakfast. He looked so tensed. He thought, " If it was reality then I threw things in my room but when I woke up, everything was well organized, placed at its own place. And if it was dream then why i am dreaming such dream now and then.Should i talk to them about last night?" 

He was so confused and anxious. 

Jack said, " Mom, i want to tell you something." 

His mom and dad looked at each other. 

His dad said, " Once we finish our breakfast then we will talk peacefully later in the afternoon." 

Jack knew that his dad was against talking much on the dining table. They finished their breakfast. His mother told him to bring some food items from the market. 

As he was crossing a street, he realized someone was following him.He turned back, he saw the same man who was knocking the door last night. Getting noticed by Jack, that man entered a mall. Jack went behind him, searched him everywhere but he disappeared. 

Jack came out of the mall and went to a shop for purchasing the food item. 

While returning home, he saw a large crowd near the same mall. He went near the crowd and shocked. The man who was following him was lying dead. His neck was punctured with protruding fangs and sucked his blood. 

People were talking that he fell from the eighth floor of the mall. No body could see the murderer.

Jack returned home and told his mother about the incident but he didn't them her that the same man was knocking his door last night and also following him in the market. He asked about the dad. His mother said that he got some urgent call from the office so he left home an hour back.
