I followed him in a daze, trying to make sense of what I had seen. I hoped it was a big coincidence and that perhaps ‘Avari’ was actually a common vampire name, I wouldn’t have known if it was.
My hopes slowly faded to nothing as Justin closed the door behind us and turned to look me in the eye with a severe expression that I fully understood.
“Rilian…is the prince?” I asked, grimacing.
“He is,” said Justinian flatly. “Rilian is the only son and heir of King Lucas. I am sure you know what that means.”
It took all of my willpower not to retort with sass. Of course, I knew what it meant. Rilian had taken a massive risk to bring me into his home if he had been an average vampire, and suddenly I was discovering that not only was he not average, he was THE Prince!
