Chapter 63: Never Look Back

A night passed without incident, and during the early morning hours, Jiang Yixue, still groggy from sleep, heard a clinking and clanking noise coming from the yard.

Upon hearing this noise, she immediately realized that Ye Feng must be preparing for her treatment and, fighting back sleepiness, got up and walked into the yard, rubbing her bleary eyes, only to sharply inhale a cold breath of air.

She saw that Ye Feng, taking advantage of her being asleep, had already built a large stove in the very center of the yard.

The big pot that had been used for her medicinal bath before was now set upon the stove.

Inside the pot, it was unclear what was being cooked, but beneath the licking flames, it was bubbling with dark, murky froth.

Not only that, but from within those burst bubbles, a strong foul odor was emanating.

The smell was reminiscent of fish left to rot and spoil in the sun for several days.
