The Aegis smiled gently, but everyone seeing that felt pain. The seven masters in the room suppressed themselves from being angry and sad at the same time, they were all students of the Aegis. If it wasn't for the Aegis, they wouldn't have understood the way their powers were after being nearly turned into monstrous mutant monsters.
"This is going to belong, it all started with my mixed-blood wife having powers that werewolves and other races never had…reading the future…"
.....
Three days later, the village returned to its normal activities. Although they were surprised to hear that the Aegis that night came back drenched in a serious wound in the stomach, he was attacked by the fleeing spies. It turned out that when he fled from the village, he saw the Aegis darting towards the dark pack barrier.
Luckily, the three masters were chasing after him who carelessly left a trail, and found that the Aegis who was in a hurry to be chased by time couldn't focus in the pouring rain and thoughts were racing.
He was stabbed with a poisoned knife by the spy, and suddenly he fell immediately at the same time a master threw his spear and hit the spy's head which fell to the ground.
The three masters and several village soldiers approached, to save the Aegis who was still trying to get up walking in the opposite direction.
"Master Aegis, please don't move, it's the poison of the tulips that can stop your heart rate!!" Isac said supporting the body of the Aegis who refused to return.
"I still have to eliminate traces of mine, they can't find my granddaughter!!"
The words of the Aegis made the three masters as well as their students shocked, not playing, but because they were in a precarious situation for the safety of the Aegis. Isac immediately said in a hurry asking to be explained what traces should be removed.
"Scent and also my trail is not covered, it will bring the mate here."
"Fine, I'll deodorize them with a scented mist, then cast a camouflage spell to have them misled and lose track of you," Isaac said then turned his head towards the other two masters. "Alan, Eric. Bring the Aegis back, and the two of you follow me to protect the territory while I cast magic spells." He said then he was nodded by everyone.
That's how that night made the hearts of the masters almost fall out of place, the news of the Aegis' granddaughter coincided with the Aegis' injury.
....
They came to the village chief's house to visit the Aegis, but Marcus and the masters would not allow it. The Aegis for the first time stayed in their village for a long time, despite being injured. But he needed time to rest, the masters knew all this because they hadn't seen the Aegis in a long time. They wanted to return the favor at least when the Aegis was in their village because there was never a good time.
Because most of the time the Aegis arrives at night, then it will leave again before everyone wakes up. The Aegis behaved like that because he didn't want an enemy who didn't take his eyes off him to find this village, to protect everyone the Aegis did that even though age was eating away at his life.
His face is not as young as before, his eyes are no longer as bright as when his wife was there, and many wrinkles have filled his face. Even though his body was no longer as strong as it used to be, he was going to retire soon.
And now, the Aegis who was still recovering with a bandage on his stomach to the back. Sitting in the room at Marcus' house, sitting right on the side of the big bed where his granddaughter lay on his bed.
Her face was pale, even her lips were colorless, and her eyes were tightly shut. Her breathing was so calm as if in her current position she would be better off opening her eyes to recall a reality she no longer wanted to remember.
"Hey, when are you going to wake up. Grandpa doesn't have much time, hurry up. I miss you so much, the last time we met was when you could just say the word, grandpa, sorry for not being there when you were in problem…" The Aegis was in his granddaughter's room.
There lay Shireen's unconscious body.
"Your body is getting thinner, do you hate grandpa for not seeing you more often?" The Aegis asked his granddaughter. "Well, you must hate grandpa."
The Aegis lowered his head still holding Shireen's cold hand, not noticing that his granddaughter's eyes were already wide open. Her red eyes as bright as blood stared blankly at the ceiling, ignoring the pitiful cries at her bedside.
'Why am I still alive?!!'
