Tale 18: The resistance

Finally, Friday arrives. A happy day!

Cassius sits next to me to talk, as usual. He puts his phone on the table and a heart appears on the screen...

He looks undercover to see if I can tell. The screen goes out. I confess it caught my attention, but I didn't care.

- Did you see it? A heart! He did it on purpose, to make you jealous! - the enemy warns.

- It could be from a sister, a mother, a friend... - I say absently.

- Did you send it?

-No!

- So it was another woman?! Is he exchanging hearts with another woman?! Is that it? - and he keeps going. - Why another woman and not you?

- Why another woman and not me? - I ask myself.

- Why another woman and not you! - he shouts.

He made a breach through jealousy and managed to invade my mind, making me sad. I'm going to have a chocolate cereal bar to cheer me up. I crumple the package and leave it on the table.

- My friend gave me a very good bar! - Cassius says.

He takes a package out of his pocket, uncrushes it and shows it to me.

- I don't know it! I ate this one now, it's good too! - I answer pointing.

He takes the package I left on the table and put it in my pocket.

- I'll take it to buy the same bar and try!

Coffee time is over, so we get up to keep working.

On Sunday evening, after church, I pray in the bedroom.

"What did he do with the packaging?" - I think, having it in mind.

I have a vision... the packaging disappears and a sparkling wine, a crumbly roast chicken and a vase of red roses appear in its place. This is the first time I have such a clear and colorful vision. Then the figure of a beautiful woman appears near the ceiling, with a long dress and tied hair.

A mouth ... words uttered tried to poison me.

Cassius is silent, and I continue:

- They say: Why don't you do anything, Ana? Do you have an affair with him? No, I don't, I need some time to find out, I reply angrily. - I tell him, upset.

- As if what they say I did outside diminished my work here. It should not be so...

- Cassius, if these rumors reach our superiors, you will be fired! I can't help! - I speak firmly.

He lowers his head, upset.

- I will not create a mess for you, based on information that I do not know if it is true! Respect me, Cassius, I'm getting you off the hook! Other person in my place would have taken this further!

- Thank you, thank you very much. - he speaks relieved.

- They told me that, months ago, you delayed some projects because you were messing around in your room. The company expects its professionals to do what he or she has to do: to work! To have a serious posture! - I scold him.

- This year I changed my behavior, and people, over time, will realize it! - he says, looking into my eyes, and with his hands open on the table.

- Lately, when something arrives, you realize it's old. They say you have changed...

- And I will change more! Starting tomorrow, a new Cassius will enter this office! Nothing else will reach your ears! You'll see! You will not be disappointed with me, Ana! - he promises.

I breathe relieved, trying to hide my sad look. How difficult it is to talk about these matters with the man you like.

He thanks for the remarks, gives me a kiss and a hug, and leaves. I finish my work and go home. On the way, the angel speaks once again:

- If you hadn't been firm with him back then, you wouldn't have this conversation today!

The angel shows us, talking, sitting in front of a table, and beside it a large, deep, damp, rocky and dark hole.

- That was a trap! - he continued.

"And how hard it was to stand firm at that time! It was a strong attraction, but God gave me strength and guidance. All this movement in the spirit world occurred so that this conversation would not happen, so that he would not make the decision to change! Indeed, a life is worth a lot on the other side!" - I reflect.
