Special Chapter II - Semifinals (part 1)

"Okay… Let's see…"

The day has ended, and the next day has begun. 

Right in the morning, the student council placed the matchings for the semifinals in the lobby of the classes building. Me, Jericho, and Manda are in the lobby right now, reading the listing.

There are eight students in total at each group, and there are two stages of the semifinals. Which means today, the students who made it to the semifinals will have to battle twice if they managed to win.

I don't mind, after all, it's about time I'm going all out.

Looks like there are plenty of class E students fighting each other here. Maneil will go against one of Elmone's gang, and the winner will fight Jericho who is fighting another person from class A as her first fight. 

My matchup is a lot better. I will be facing Bonzie in the first round of the semifinals, and then I will fight the winner from the two class A students who fought each other.

From there, the winner from these two will fight and become the champion of group B.

But, everyone already knows about who will be the champion. I simply stayed silent.

At noon, we all headed to the gymnasium for the battles. It's amazing how the academy can have such a large gymnasium that can fit the whole three years of generation and two large arenas in the middle. Because right now, the arena is very crowded.

"Welcome everyone to the semifinals!!"

This time, the commentator is speaking. Looks like we have entered an important part of the battle arena.

"Today, we have our first years as our contestants and I am very excited for it. Don't you all!?"

The crowd became wild and answered the commentator's question. And the commentator went ahead and continued with the commentary.

"Should I go ahead and praise class E for doing extremely great on the battle arena? Their names are dominating the list, along with class A! Looks like we are looking at a total rivalry here!!

The main guy from class A, the son of the arch-mage, Arfius Polaris is currently the highest favorite person to win the champion spot. But will his challenger, the class E's main girl, Rize Violet, the one who saved our academy from the destruction two months ago, be able to win against him? We shall see! I am so hyped for this!!"

Hearing her comment, everyone cheered for the two soon-to-be champions of the first years. Obviously, everyone wanted to know too.

Meanwhile, I'm simply questioning the commentator's words.

"Wow... I'm the favorite from class E?"

"It's funny how you don't know how famous you are, Rize."

"Uwaa…"

Jericho commented next to me when we were lining up next to the arena. I simply shook my shoulder and turned my gaze back forward.

The first battle from group A is Arfius Polaris from class A against Jelmond from class E. The commentator announced the two names and they quickly entered the arena belonged to group A. While the battle on group B is Maneil and one of Elmone's friends, Mero, and this is mostly interesting for me.

Ah, by the way, Mero is the guy who nearly grabbed my ass back in chapter 100 - The End Class.

Everyone knows he is a douche, so…

""Go Maneil!!""

"Mero you stink!!"

Oh yeah. Nobody is rooting for him. Even Elmone and his other gangs are completely thumbs down all over him.

"Eh!? Why aren't you guys rooting for me as well!?"

The two then went to the arena belonging to group B and took their stance. The two battles on both groups will begin at the same time, so right now they are simply preparing.

Mero is covering his whole body in sand armor while his hands are forming a rather small water dragon.

"Cute water dragon. Let me show you how to make a true one..."

Maneil lifted her right fist and a water dragon was conjured at the ground behind her and landed its gigantic chin on her palms. It's like she has a new pet water dragon that she can control at any time.

Mero quickly lost all hope in winning.

"Begin!!!"
