Woah… this is quite far down.
I have been falling for quite some time now, and I still couldn't see the end.
I kept on shooting fireballs down there, to see if the ground is close. But until then, I kept on falling.
An awkward ten minutes later, I somehow flew past a certain someone, awkwardly sticking on the wall.
"Rize-"
And… he's gone.
I took out both of my swords as quick as I could and stabbed them on the walls. The swords stabbed the walls as it slows down my descent, and I'm certain it also destroys my sword in the process as well.
After scratching the wall for a few tens of meters with my sword, my descent finally stopped.
Now, who would have thought that Hod is sticking on the wall like that.
"Hod!"
I shouted upward, waiting for an answer.
"Rize! What the hell are you doing down here!?"
Hod's shout can be heard. At least he is okay.
"I went to save your ass! Why do you think!?"
"My god!"
Actually, Valey pushed me in. But that's because I also wanted to go and help Hod.
We both went silent as we tried to figure out a way.
"Can you reach for your communication crystal!?"
"No! My hands are full!"
Great. Because my hands are also full.
I stared at the abyss under us, and I tried letting go of one of my hands and shot a fireball down. From how the fireball isn't exploding, I can tell it's still a long way down.
It's impossible for us to somehow stay here forever and wait for help. So our only choice is to go down.
"Hod! We should go down!"
"What!? Are you insane?!"
"It's better than hanging on the wall!"
Hod went silent for a second. He must be thinking.
"How do you think we are going to go down there?!"
The gears on my brain work like hell. And then an idea came across my mind. With one free hand, I conjured a firebomb and shot downwards. Firebomb's explosion is loud, so when it contacted the ground, the explosion should be heard.
BAM!
An explosion and a glimpse of fire can be seen very far down there. At least now I had an idea of how deep this pit is.
"I'm going to jump down!"
"W-Wait, for real!?"
"Yeah! Do you have your communication crystal!?"
"I have it in my pocket! I couldn't reach it, though!"
I stared back down to the abyss, and gathered enough confidence.
"Wait for my call!"
I released my sword from the walls. The fall was very fast, but I kept on shooting fireballs like a machine gun to see how deep this thing is, just in case. But, at least I already know how deep this thing is.
Right about... Now!
BLARR!!!
I shot a large firebomb to the ground, and the explosion can be seen pretty close from my spot. I immediately kicked the wall until I got pushed to the other side of the wall, then I stabbed my sword again like I did before.
After my descend stopped, I stared at the ground not too far below me and slowly made my way down, continuously stabbing the wall. I kept on stabbing the wall while slowly descending, like a reverse barbarian mountain climber.
After a minute, I finally hopped down to the ground.
But thanks to my explosions, I created quite a deep crater here. Now, as to how should I help Hod drop down?
An idea came across my mind. This idea might kill him though.
I took out my communication crystal and spoke to it.
"Hod. Can you drop down an incredibly large chunk of ice? As big as you can."
I couldn't hear a response, and that is because Hod is currently had his hands full. But I remembered he could conjure ice without using his hands, so it might be useful. Plus, he can hear me talking.
"R-Rize? Are you okay?"
Cony's voice came from the crystal.
"Yeah, I'm okay. Still waiting for Hod to drop down, though."
"How far deep is it?"
"It's… like the bottom of the earth. Very far down."
Because it probably is. Cony asked me a couple stuff as to what's down here, but I simply said that it's just another cave. She said they will be waiting for backup, but Hod need to contact the others using his communication crystal first. And to do that, Hod needed both of his hands free.
I waited for a while, and a large chunk of ice fell from the top, crashing into the ground like a glass. It was quite surprising, considering how silent everything was until it fell.
I studied the ice chunk and nodded.
"This should be enough."
I turned my mouth to the crystal.
"Hod, I need you to wait up there a little bit more."
After stating that, I lit my hand on fire and began cooking the ice.
The ice fell exactly at the crater, and luckily the crater is very deep. The ice itself is twice the length of the crater, and it even covered the drop hole.
I burned the ice with my fire magic, and slowly the ice turned into water, filling the entire crater. After a while, a very deep pond has been created.
Was it just… my imagination?
Or is the water smoking?
Whatever, I'm sure it's fine.
"Okay, Hod. It's safe to drop. At least you won't die from the crash."
Hod can only hope the damage he is expecting isn't as he is expected. He slowly releases the ice shard and his sword from the wall before dropping down. The fall was extremely long and fast, until he could finally see light.
BYURRRR!!!
Hod landed exactly on the water. And after a while, his head popped up from the surface.
"Hot!!!!"
Ah…
So it was smoking…
After a lot of effort, the blue and red hairs has finally made it down the abyssal hole.
Now, what?
