Feeling that her sword is now unmoveable, Cony released the sword and pulled out a knife.
Cony always had a second weapon hidden on her. Which is why she placed a knife on her belt, so she can use it in these situations.
She unsheathed the knife and slashed forward.
SRASH!!
The knife sliced through the masked Dice's chest. Blood burst out from the cut, and Dice was thrown backwards.
Dice held his chest, to look at the damage Cony had done. Cony swallowed her saliva in regret that she didn't buy a longer knife.
The cut was shallow.
The blood that came out isn't much.
But Dice wasn't a bit happy about it. From underneath his mask, his breathing becomes uncontrollable, as his eyes wide opened.
"A mere... Human. Who was not... My target…!!!"
This guy has completely lost it at this point.
Valey quickly noticed the heavy change in the air, and tried shouting at Cony to go back. But Cony simply stood there.
Why is she standing still?
The heavy pressure shook her. She couldn't move-Or rather, she was not allowed to.
Cony looked at her body, and saw the small gushes of powerful wind covering her entire body, rendering her unable to move. Panic starts to engulf her as she swallows what's left of her saliva. She looks at her opponent as she tries to stand up from the pressure in front of her.
"A... Mere... Human!!"
Valey shouted as a heavy force exploded from the enemy, straight towards Cony.
.
I slowly stood back up as my body cried for me to stay down, but I have to go back. I heard explosions coming from the front field. Cony and Valey must be fighting.
Not good... They might lose.
That explosion could have killed me had I not enchanted my back with magic energy to protect me from the crash. Though the explosion alone also nearly destroyed my front body.
If anyone else got that explosion, I don't even want to imagine the results of their bodies. They might not even exist anymore.
I enchanted my whole body and leaped towards the cave I created. The inside of the house is now a wreckage, but they can fix this.
I arrived outside of the house and looked at the scene right before me. My eyes are pried open as my brain tries to process the sight. My body couldn't move and my mouth couldn't stay closed.
Right in front of me is Valey, crying as she looked at the floating person in front of Dice. The person looked like they had withstood a heavy explosion judging from the burn marks on the ground.
It took my brain ten seconds to accept the fact that the person is Cony.
Valey turned her red eyes towards me as she mumbled my name. But my eyes didn't leave Cony. Not even for a bit.
The charred body drops to the floor as Dice turns back at me.
"Now... The annoyer is gone... Let's go back to business, Ritze!"
Dice spoke out at me. The insanity coming from him is now gone, replaced with a gentle tone that felt forced.
I didn't reply. I walked forward towards where he shot his explosion at me the first time. There, my two swords are laying on the ground. I lowered my body and grabbed both of my swords.
Then I looked straight back at him.
I couldn't close off this emotion. In the end, heavy bloodlust as well as an unbearable pressure was shot towards Dice, making him shudder in fear.
He tries to show that he is not afraid. He picks up the charred Cony by the neck and shows it to me.
"Hoh! What's wrong!? I only took out the annoyer! I know you would like it as well, Ritz-"
SRASHHH!!
In a blink.
I closed twenty meters in a blink.
In a blink, Dice lost his right arm.
"Graaahhhh!!!!---"
I grabbed Cony's body, and leaped back to where Valey is.
I quickly activate my knight tier healing magic on Cony's whole body. I poured in most of my magic energy to save her.
And after seven seconds, Cony's body is starting to turn normal. I can feel her breathing becoming stronger. Tears fell down from my eyes, and Valey watched in awe as Cony slowly opened her eyes.
"W-What... happened…?"
She studied her surroundings, only to realize that she was looking at me and Valey crying.
"Wait, I didn't die, did I?-"
Valey hugged her at high speed with incredible force as Cony accepted her hug. She looked at me, asking what's going on, but I wiped the tears off my face and stood back up.
"Take Cony away from here. Meet up with your mother on the back."
I turned my gaze across the field, where a single man was standing.
Dice is trying so hard to stop the blood pouring out from his hand. He had closed the wound using his clothes. Thanks to that, he managed to stop the blood from continuously pouring out.
Valey nodded and stood up while having Cony on her back. Valey was always strong physically, not to mention her magic enchanting talent.
After making sure Valey and Cony are away, I reopened the lid to my bloodlust.
Dice shudders once more, but his rage was able to withstand it. From behind that ugly mask of his, I can see his eyes staring sharply at me.
"You… A mere human!? My target… A... human!?"
His voice… it has changed. From his voice, it doesn't sound like he is human. I'm still unsure, so I went ahead and asked.
"So you weren't human? Then what are you?"
"I am not like you... human. I am... demon."
A demon?
Demon races do exist in this world. It took me a while to remember that.
I couldn't tell from behind his mask. But if he really is a demon, then he totally has a high affinity for magic.
Demons always have a higher affinity to magic than humans. Not only that, they also had a very powerful physical strength. They are on a completely different level than humans.
The only reason why they haven't dominated the world is because of their small numbers. Demons are usually unable to make a lot of offspring.
Unlike humans who can make more than three descendants in three years, demons can only make one every four years. Their pregnancy takes a very long time. Thanks to this, their numbers are quite small compared to humans.
Demons are surely a higher race, but they were never the most powerful one.
"Is that so?"
I enchanted my knights sword with powerful magic energy and my orcish sword with flame magic. I wasn't playing around, and I activated my powerful form.
This isn't as strong as the one I used when fighting Jonus and got stopped. This is a weaker one, so I can conserve energy.
Because I know that demons also have a pretty large magic capacity. Their growth for magic points is higher than humans.
Maybe I'm the same as them in terms of growth, then that just means he is much stronger than me since he probably trained longer.
But judging from his reaction when I unleashed my bloodlust and pressure, says a lot about our differences.
I'm stronger than him. My growth is so much better than his. I can beat him.
With a single leap, I closed our distance. This speed is the same as when I sliced his arm off. But he somehow was prepared for it. He conjured three balls of fire above his head, and threw them at me in less than a second. The balls, as I thought, weren't normal fireballs.
I dodged every single one of them and fortified my body for the explosions behind me.
BOOM!!!
BOOM!!!!
BOOOM!!!!
Black smoke quickly engulfs around me as three bombs explode. Dice chuckled at the spectacle right in front of him, but he stopped breathing when the eye of the blade quickly drove out from the black smoke, right in front of his face.
SRINGG!!
Dice had jumped backwards as soon as he saw the blade. As a result, the blade only scratched his mask slightly.
But I didn't stop there.
I stepped out of the smoke and continued my attack. My flaming blade appeared from the smoke, showing him that I am not even close to being done.
I threw multiple flame slashes at him, but somehow, my attacks were dispersed. He threw another bomb at me, and I was able to jump away before it exploded.
I looked at him as he laughed.
"What's wrong!? Can't seem to attack?!?"
My knuckles went white as I gripped the handles of my swords harder. My attacks were dispersed by him… easily.
What the hell did he do?
Annoying abilities, powerful techniques.
This shall be Rize's hardest fought battles to date.
