"Ah. Let's begin with the tiering up first."
Tiering up might be the most important thing of all. If a student has fulfilled the condition to tier up, it will be a waste for them not to do it as soon as possible. Because if they trained with an already prepared tier up, it will simply be a waste of time and energy.
"Everybody, please line up and face the forest beyond us."
I pointed at the forest and the sky in front of me. One by one, they all lined up facing the forest in front of me obediently.
Manda stood on the very front. Behind her is Jericho, and everyone else. The earthen magicians are still busy with their building, so I simply let them build for a while and train them using another method. Earth mages were possibly the easiest to train, so I simply left them for now.
"Now. Tell me about your magical affinities."
I asked Manda, and she told me what she knows. She had two elemental affinities, and three magic affinity. A Beginner tier fire magic, Beginner tier wind magic, and a creation magic.
That creation magic might be her most interesting magic of all, but when I asked her about it, she said she never used it.
I let out a sigh of disappointment.
"That creation magic could be your most powerful strength, you know..."
"How is creation magic more powerful than destruction magic?"
Jericho asked from behind when she overheard, and Manda seemed to be quite interested in it as well.
I lifted one hand and pointed downwards.
"Manda. Place your hand on the ground."
She looked questioned but then decided to follow anyway. She bent her back and slowly placed her palms on the ground.
"Now. Imagine you are making a circle on the ground."
"A circle?"
"Like a drawing. Imagine you are drawing a circle, just by inserting magic energy to the ground."
I said to her, and she quickly did that. She inputted magic energy to the ground, and the ground around her palms crumbled. Stones are bouncing around as she pour more magic energy.
ZZZRRRGGG!!!!
If my senses are correct, then she inputted wayy to many energy...
"Ah... This is too much."
She quickly lifted her hand after I said that, revealing what she had created.
What's underneath her palms is a single perfect circle carved on the ground. But, it's not a normal circle.
The carving goes all the way down. I checked using my magic senses to see how deep it is, and it's apparently ten meters deep.
"Congratulations. You have a true talent for using creation magic."
"R-Really?"
I turned my gaze downwards and had a brilliant idea.
BAARR!!!
I struck the ground using my fingers and pulled out the circle by force. The circle was pulled all the way out, revealing the eight meters long tube of rock that Manda had created.
"W-Woah..."
Everyone else watches as I place the stone pillar on the ground.
"This thing can be our little pee hole. Thanks, Manda."
I said to her and she laughed a little.
"We can work more about your creation magic tomorrow after we borrowed a book from the library, since I myself don't really know much about it. For today, let's just tier up your wind magic and fire magic."
"O-Okay!"
We continued with the training, and I taught her specifically on how to tier up her magic elements. She was able to get a tier up on her fire magic to Intermediate rank, which gets everyone else shocked, because tiering up was never that simple.
But, now that I know the key, it's very simple. She had reached the requirement long ago, and I only noticed during the dummy class. When I told everyone that, they all had high hopes of tiering up.
Manda was able to tier up her fire magic, but she hasn't used her wind magic much, which makes it unable to tier up.
"You should use your wind magic more. If you can merge your wind magic and fire magic, you can be an unstoppable exploding force."
"Ah… but it just felt weird combining wind and fire magic… it felt like I could just be okay with my fire magic…"
She seemed to really dislike using wind magic…
So, I ended up coming up with a better idea.
"You can fly with wind magic."
She got heavily excited after that.
After Manda, Jericho stepped forward and told me her abilities.
"Intermediate wind magic, light magic, and earth magic."
"Woah… Those are some natural elements..."
I saw her wind magic before, and it was powerful. But, can she break through to the next tier?
"Close your eyes. Then enchant your fist with the purest magic energy that you have."
"Purest... Magic energy?"
"It's the magic energy that, if you put too much, can make your hand feel numb. The magic energy that has less 'dirt' on it."
After I said that, she immediately understood. A human's magic energy tends to get dirty from god knows what type of dirt. But, it just felt dirty.
It's very odd, like knowing that inside your blood, there is a bunch of dirt. And, it's fairly easy to notice, too.
Surprisingly, also controllable.
She quickly gathered all of her purest magic energy to her hand, and began casting her wind magic on that hand. The wind magic wasn't able to turn at all, so she shook her head.
"That's okay. It's normal to not be able to rank up right away. Then, try casting the light magic."
She changed the wind magic into light magic. The light magic somewhat turned bigger and bigger.
"Look at that. You haven't used it that much, and yet you are still able to tier up."
Intermediate tier light magic. Jericho quickly grinned and laughed seeing the powerful light magic on her hand.
It's quite difficult to tell about light magic's tiers physically. But if you encounter many light magicians from different levels, you can differentiate their tiers pretty easily.
She tried her earth magic, but nothing. She said she never used earth magic, so I told her it's perfect for defences.
"With wind magic as your mobility, and light magic as your assault… Earth magic can be your defence. It's the perfect combo."
She nodded at my words while staring down, but then she raised her head again.
"Teach me how to fly."
"Later. Get out of the line."
A tri-element user that was able to fully use their magic perfectly. I wonder how powerful she can be after she mastered those and got them to a higher tiers.
But, why do I get the feeling that she only wants the wind magic…?
One by one, the students came forward and told me about their affinities. And just like that, nearly every single one of them was able to tier up. Even Elmone and his shadow magic.
Hmm… Maybe I should try learning shadow magic from him.
After everyone else tiered up, we continued with some more personal training. Jericho and Manda were so eager to start flying, so I gave them some tips from what I know. Everyone else also had some things they wanted to learn. Aside from training them, I also trained myself with Elmone regarding my shadow magic.
In the end, I was able to create shadow walls perfectly, though it's not instant. The shadow wall requires three seconds until it can reach three meters. Elmone was able to make a bigger wall in less than a second. I'm kind of jealous of him, but that's how it is currently going for now.
But, I won't have to worry. He'll bite my dust in no time.
When the sun goes down, everyone else is still doing their training… and one person stood out the most.
Jericho can already fly perfectly.
She even conjured wings behind her back to make her fly faster. But, Manda still had some issues with augmenting her whole body with wind magic.
And now, Jericho is flying around the skies with her barely visible air wings.
Everyone is staring at her with awe and jealousy, while I'm having my euphoria watching more of my success as a teacher.
Are the class E students learning too fast? Maybe.
Would it make more sense if they progresses a lot slower? I'd say it's arguable, considering they are class E and all.
But, I want to focus more on the fact that none of these class E students has been taught anything about magic before rather than them being untalented. Rize being the best at teaching also helps accelerate their learning speed, so it's probably fine to go either fast or slow.
Finding success after being taught by Rize also helps with their dynamic, which you should be looking forward to towards the end of the season. I decided to speed up the training phase, but also deepen on drama. That's just how Unlasting World is, sometimes.
