PISS ME OFF

"What were you thinking letting Nancy treat you like that?" Harry asked as they stepped out of the café. He was surprised that Rex walked off Nancy's statement as he was not the type to let anyone have the last say or to speak to him in such a manner.

"Yeah. That was totally unexpected". His brother, Larry added.

Rex just shuddered as he was not interested in answering the questions they were asking. The question he was hoping they'll ask was about the cross. Why did the cross react at his touch? He pocketed his hands as he crossed the streets along with them. He sat on the bench across the street thinking about what happened back at the café not too long ago. He recalled the emotions he felt when he held it. Was the cross trying to send a message to him because it seems the cross was speaking? It was pretty obvious the cross also had a connection to him as the light became brighter and the ground starting to shake. Whatever it was, Rex planned on figuring it out.

"let's go" he finally responded leaving two shocked at his behavior.

Back at the café

"What a jerk?" Benjamin blurted out after Rex had gone.

"Now you say" Nancy returned. He didn't react nor did he say anything while Rex was there. The others just thought that we weren't listening to their banter because he was shaking his leg, which he does whenever he was deep in thought.

"What's your problem with me?" Benjamin asked putting a steel in his voice as he was already getting angry. He noticed that she had been him since the beginning of the trip and he wanted to get to the bottom of it.

"What's your problem with me?" she directed the question back to him. A quarrel was about to take place and everyone seemed interested except for Zander and Prince who kept staring at each other. Both observant of what just happened to Rex and the cross. After a while Prince looked at her bag indicating that she should bring the cross. Zander tore her gazed off of him and looked at Nancy and Benjamin who were already on their feet with Braun and Nicolette trying to resolve the issue. She knew it was the perfect time to leave.

"I have to go" Zander motioned to leave but Prince was fast enough to block her from leaving. She tried looking for what to use to distract him to run as she looked around the café.

"Where are you going with that cross?"

"answers"

"Answers?" Prince asked chuckling at her poker face.

"We all sat at that table, answering" he pointed at the table Nancy and Benjamin continued to argue on. Zander had lost for words because she knew he was right, but no one seemed to be focused on the issue at hand except for Prince. She wanted to leave as she stared at the cross, like she had no control of her body. She was in a trance and it seems the cross wanted to relay a message to her. But then the cross reaction to Rex touch made her wonder more the secrets of this cross and the only way to find out was through research, probably libraries or the internet or even Rex himself. But whatever it was, the answer was right in front of them.

"We both saw what happened" he continued as he heard no response from her. "You can't do this on your own."

"You called me here, didn't you?"

"Yes" His poker face gave nothing more.

"Then all I can say is, the answer is right in front of us"
