LURKING

Two days ago

"Aaah" A small gasp escaped Zander's lips as sweat oozed all over her face. She sat up straight looking at where she was at. A quick memory flashed in her eye and a slight headache made her put her hands on her head. She stood up from the bed to check the window. It was already dark and the star shined in the direction of the well. She heard noise outside of her room and decided to check it out. She took her phone along with her and opened the door of her room. As she stepped outside, she looked at side and saw the five also coming out of their room. She opened her eyes wide in surprise. It seems she wasn't the only one shocked at this. As they stared at each other, they memories came back flooding their minds. They crouched on the floor as the pain increased due to the remembrance. After a while, the pain decreased and they remained on the floor looking at each other. Zander's eyes were focused on the direction of the noise. She walked forward and stopped behind a tree, not expecting the others to follow. Prince walked to meet Zander "What are you thinking of?" her eyes gazed back to the direction of the tree. She looked at him and nothing came out of her mouth. Braun walked to meet them and a conversation took place.

"Are we dreaming?" Braun started to talk. His hands were through his hair as he paced up and down looking distraught.

"I don't understand what is happening but clearly this not a dream" Nicolette responded as she faced them all.

Zander was about to say something but couldn't. she still couldn't process what was happening. She moved away from the tree and walked towards the noise. The others looked dazed and didn't understand what she was doing. Benjamin was about to drag her back but prince stopped him. He wanted to see what she wanted to do. She saw her classmates all seated around a fire and were eating marshmallows. A quiver escaped her lips. They seemed to be enjoying what they were doing that they didn't notice her standing behind. She thought that no one cared to look for them or even to realize that they missing. She squeezed the jacket indicating she angry. She sighed and went back to her room. Prince couldn't believe that the only think she could think of right now was the fact that nobody cared that they missing. Prince chuckled at this and looked at the others before they continued to talk in whispers.

A shadow entered the cave through the well. The star's light showed his figures, five foot eight with a beaky nose and oval shaped head. He was holding a radar as he searched for something. Careful step was taken as he passed through the mini cave and he approached another hole inside the cave. He shined a torch to check how deep the hole was. Seeing it wasn't deep, he decided to make a jump. As he was about to jump, another shadow appeared behind him. He noticed the presence and looked back to check the figure and ended up scaring the shadow rather than the shadow performing that action. The slender figure wearing a high heel and her long hair packed roughly.

"What are you doing here?" he asked in anger. Hearing no response from her, he continued. "Leave. I don't want you to wake the creature." She looked confused at what he said. The anger in him formed at her stupidity and nonchalant attitude. "I don't want you to wake the guardian" he yelled.

"Careful now, we wouldn't want to wake the guardian" she returned already laughing the fact she was able to tick him off. Not wasting time on her he jumped down to continue his search as she followed. The radar flashed a red light indicating he had reached his destination. As he dug through the sand, she yawned loudly causing him to stop for while before he continued. He was already annoyed for her being here and he could lose it any moments from one.

"You won't find it" She said folding her arms. He continued digging not minding what she said.

"Whatever Father asked you to find is gone, so is the guardian" he stopped digging as he said obscenities under his breath. He walked towards her, looked at her in anger. He was one feet taller due to her long heels. She bit her lower lip hiding her fear.

"What did father tell you?" he asked squeezing his hands that was ready to choke the life out of her.

"He sent me a message to let you know that it has been activated and you are…too late. She spoke as a whisper. She stepped away from him as he knew his anger could not be handled. He sighed in disbelief. He was furious at his father for not informing him about this on time. He failed he thought to himself. He might have passed the test when he was a little boy, but now disappointment might welcome him home. He didn't want to the girl to sense his emotions so he decided to put the blame on her

"And you let me dig" his statement caught her by surprise. He was transferring the anger from his father to her. Sensing this, she had to run in order to see the next day.

"I have to go" she quickly spoke using a grappler to climb through. After she was gone. He looked at what he was digging and continued as he thought this could be a trick to distract him. This was not the first time his father has done that to him before. After a long while he stopped digging sensing defeat but the radar kept beeping. He smashed the radar on the sand in anger as he used his feet to break it into pieces. He surveyed the place before he left the scene. It was time to meet father.
