...UNITED WE FALL

"A long time ago, there was a plague named death. Everyday thousands of people would die from something out of nothing. This was the prophecy the seer told the people residing in village named Tehari. The people's leader vowed to find a solution to the predicament. For years and years, the family searched an answer that was before them. One day, the oldest in the village went to see the seer, their voices were loud enough for everyone to know that they had an argument that day. No one knew what the conversation was about, but two days later the old man died and the earth felt his death. Earthquake overtook the town and seven crystal balls appeared in the center of the village. It was discovered that they held unimaginable powers. Powers that can lead to the destruction of the whole world. These balls were placed in the hands of the cross family, our family, as we were the most influential family in the whole village. As we developed in technology, so did the balls transform into crosses as a camouflage. Due to the wars and opposition from other cities, our family decided to hide the crosses underneath a cave and hoped that one day, when it is needed, one of the cross family could unlock it. Your grandfather, my father unlocked these crosses for his own selfish reasons. As he researched on the creation of the crosses, one of the crosses got mishandled and he died by the revolt cross. After that day, we never saw those crosses again. I knew I had to find these crosses no matter what. I landed here in universe Z and that was when I realized that they were multiple universes and timelines. But only universe L, our universe had the cross. Apparently, the cross travelled to universe Z but not the timeline we are in, but in the timeline, I sent you, timeline X. but I stayed in timeline Y as they lacked everything in development. I created my own empire, the executioners. Those crosses are the key to our survival which is why we must get it, to go back home". A man in dark cloak spoke the stories of the past to his son as he sat on an arm chair that seemed like throne. The dark room was lighted with candles that spread along the hallway. His son's head was bent over as a bow expressing his respect to his father. After not finding the cross, he came to his father to report the ongoing search as it was his father who relayed the message to him through the girl about the crosses disappearance which could only mean one thing, his father wanted to see him.

"Why are you telling me what I already know, father?" he remembered the first time his father told him the story about his ancestors. He had just finished an intense training section with his master. Blood oozed out of his body as he managed to walk to his room. A few steps to his room, he met father who signaled him to follow him. As they walked down the hall, his father told him the story of his ancestors, telling him one day he must be ready for the test. The test would determine if he was ready for his first mission. Standing here now as a failure made him think all his time of training and studying, he had to do just to have the perfect cover.

"The crosses have been activated" the father spoke with an unnerving intensity. He stood up as he placed his hands at his back, standing one foot away from his son.

"I failed father"

"No boy. Bring it back"

"I promise I would…." Seeing his father was willing to give him another chance to redeem his honor. He promised to be back here next time with the crosses. But was cut short by his father.

"Promise is a strong word boy. Don't fail me"

"I won't"

"Remember, divided we stand and united we fall" Father spoke the words of the cross to his son as he left his father's chamber. As he stood outside, by the door trying to catch his breath, he thought of the story his father repeated to him and came to a conclusion that something was off about the story and he must find out what it is.
