While Clay was perfecting his idea of how to get more Papyrus papers he heard someone call him.
"Clay! Dinner is ready!" Belle shouted from the other side of the house.
"Ok, I'm coming!" Clay replied.
Clay took a look outside, counting how many hours he had spent creating the map and using the map, all in all, he spent about an hour walking around to create the map and another hour testing the uses of the map.
'Today was a great day' Clay remarked, if you ignored the F class rating he had received on the same day as well, then it would certainly be a good day.
..
.
The next day.
Clay woke up in a pleasant mood, stretching while remembering yesterday's events Clay couldn't help but break out in a smug smile, the type of smile that makes anyone who sees it want to punch the face of the owner of the smile.
Clay got out of bed washed up and proceeded to go to the kitchen.
Seeing his mother already up Clay greeted her.
Grabbing a piece of bread, cheese, and some raisins, a normal breakfast for normal days.
After eating his fill, Clay got up, stretched once more, and began planning out his day.
'So I need to test my idea, gather the other materials, and create the map, those are my main objectives right now' Clay thought, double-checking if that was all he needed to do today.
'Still, I don't know how to get ink, maybe I can ask for some money to buy it? No, we can't afford it right now' Clay sighed.
'The disadvantages of the poor' he sighed again.
Then Clay had another idea.
'What if I can sell my maps?' Feeling giddy at the thought of earning extra money Clay thought to put it to work as soon as he finished creating the maps.
Clay told his family that he was heading out for a while.
Walking in the direction of Josh's house, Clay thought more about his 'epiphany'.
'This is a gamble but if it does work then the quest would be no problem' Clay said with a firm will hoping that it would work.
Soon Clay appeared in front of his friend's house.
Clay knocked on the door waiting for a response.
The door opened with Mrs. Daskt immediately exclaiming.
"Clay! Welcome, we weren't expecting anyone to come today, but if you want, you can come in, Josh will be surprised!" Mrs. Daskt said, she was a middle-aged woman, her hair went down to her shoulders, and she was wearing an apron. Mrs. Daskt was relatively short, about 5 feet tall.
Josh was the only child of the family, his father was away from home doing the same job as Clay's dad, only occasionally visiting a few times a year.
"Hello, Mrs. Daskt, I just wanted to talk to Josh for a bit" Clay greeted her.
"Sure! Come on in!" She gestured inside the house.
Clay entered the house, greeted by a beautiful sight.
The interior was decorated with wooden walls painted white with a pleasant texture if you were to touch it similar to small bumps if you were to slide your fingers across it. In the hallways, there were small tables containing small decorations on the side.
The living room was more impactful even though it looked relatively the same as it had a pleasant fragrance wafting through the air.
Clay walked past the living room and directly came in front of Josh's room, it wasn't his first time in here but the smell was always refreshing so Clay couldn't help but take a few deep breaths appreciating the smell of dried roses. Then he knocked on the door quietly.
"Yes, Mom?" Josh instinctively said.
Clay nearly burst out laughing thinking of something funny to say.
"Dear, open the door" Clay said in the best Mrs. Daskt impression he could make.
"???" Josh was confused as he knew that wasn't what his mother sounded like.
"I'm just kidding with you it's me Clay" Clay laughed.
The door opened.
"Clay! Nice to see you bro, come in" Josh greeted him with a hug.
Clay returned the greeting.
"You too, I came here to ask you a question."
"Sure, what do you want to ask?" both released their hugs.
"Do you have a system shop?" Clay asked.
"Uh, yeah? What about it?" Josh raised his brows.
"How much shop currency do you have?" Clay needed to know how much Josh had before implementing his bright idea.
"I have 270, why?" Josh tilted his head.
"..." Clay was devastated by the difference in wealth.
He was once again reminded about his F class rating.
Nevertheless, the depression only lasted for a moment before being replaced by hope.
"That's great! Can you search if you have papyrus paper in your shop?"
"Uh, ok" Josh replied in a confused tone.
"I have it and it says it costs 10 SC"
"..."
"Clay?"
"Can you buy 4 of them please, and 2 jars of ink and 2 quills if you can?" Clay said in a tired voice.
Hearing that even a system that wasn't dedicated to mapping can buy items that were special for his system at only twice the cost made Clay even more depressed. His advantage of cheaper prices doesn't seem like that much of an advantage anymore.
'At least I can get the materials needed if it's only twice the cost' Clay tried to cheer himself up.
Josh nodded affirmatively as he didn't know what to buy with his SC when he first got it, it had just been sitting there in his shop collecting dust, so he was glad to finally see a use of it.
Soon a bright light appeared in the room, dissipating moments later revealing 8 items on the floor.
"Thanks man!" Clay exclaimed, not believing that everything went so smoothly.
"Oh speaking of thanks, I wanted to show you something as well" Clay pulled out the map he created and showed it to Josh.
"If you use this map you should get a screen showing you what you wanted to view on the map" Clay said, since he was here Clay decided to test if the map also works for other people.
"Really? You're not joking are you" Josh questioned.
"It works, trust me, I used it, if it doesn't work then I guess it only works for me"
"Alright whatever you say buddy"
Under Josh's questioning gaze, Clay handed out his map to Josh, thinking that if it could work then he could make a lot of money through it.
