Zheng Mu: Well, have you ever heard of the Mechanical Heavenly Court? The whole world is dumbfounded. Are you telling us that all of these are mechanical creations? ------------------------------------------------------------------------- So I might have have gone a little ham on this side project (-.-)' between the chapters being by far the shortest of anything I've translated so far, getting some really good results with my newer translation prompt, and getting caught up in wanting to read the story that felt like a great change of pace I ended up taking it pretty far. There are still some things that didn't translate properly -so far its been Final Fantasy stuff in the later portion of the translated chapters but I felt it was a really smooth read that was still fairly accurate to the raw text. I still haven't had much luck at getting the westernized names assigned to characters to remain consistent from chapter to chapter so unfortunately it still isn't where I want my translations to be but I am getting closer and closer. Please enjoy.

Chapter 44: The Sky Shall Have My Eyes

Over the next few days, Zheng Mu, Cai Shengkun, and Leng Bingyue continued to venture out into the wilderness, leveling up together. Zheng Mu made sure not to let Tifa appear in front of Leng Bingyue, claiming she was at home helping him clean and maintain the house. Leng Bingyue accepted this explanation, and her gaze towards Zheng Mu softened significantly.

Zheng Mu and Cai Shengkun, who had been observing from the side, noticed Leng Bingyue's change in attitude towards Zheng Mu. At least she wasn't as cold as before. She rarely smiled, but Zheng Mu could see some warmth in her eyes now.

[You have killed a Ghostface Butterfly (lv21), gaining 191 experience points.]

[You have killed a Green Slime (lv16), gaining 61 experience points.]

[You have killed a Flower-horned Deer (lv18), gaining 100 experience points.]

[You have killed...]

One notification after another floated across his screen, followed by a sudden surge of energy. Zheng Mu felt his body grow stronger.

[You have leveled up. Your current level is lv19.]

[You have new skills available to learn.]

Seeing Zheng Mu's level increase, Cai Shengkun was pleased but not surprised. It was about time for Zheng Mu to level up, given that he and Leng Bingyue had already reached lv16, and with all of Zheng Mu's mechanical creations searching the jungle for monsters to kill, he should have leveled up sooner.

"Boss, how's that thing coming along?" Cai Shengkun asked in a hushed tone, even though Leng Bingyue was several yards away, as if afraid she might overhear.

The two of them glanced in Leng Bingyue's direction, ensuring she wasn't paying attention. Zheng Mu nodded, "Pick it up at my place tonight. But let's get this straight—I won't allow any snooping into its permissions. If anyone finds out that I created it, it's definitely because you've let something slip."

Cai Shengkun quickly put his hands together, looking grateful. Zheng Mu, on the other hand, was quite nonchalant about helping Cai Shengkun fulfill his childhood dream. After all, they were friends who had grown up together like brothers. It was a favor he was more than willing to do.

Trying to suppress his excitement, Cai Shengkun casually walked away while Zheng Mu finally opened his skill tree. Two skills were already shining, indicating they were available to learn.

[Biological Scan lv1: After using, you can scan a target creature with a level 10 lower than yours. There is a 30% chance to obtain a mechanical creature blueprint related to the scanned creature. Cooldown: 12 hours. Computing power occupancy: 20 (50% reduction due to computing power enhancement).]

[Nanomachine Wave lv1: Allows for bulk conversion of white common-grade materials into corresponding level mechanical components. Can convert up to 100 targets at a time. Cooldown: 1 day. Computing power occupancy: 20 (50% reduction due to computing power enhancement).]

"Wow!" The two new skill descriptions made Zheng Mu gasp in amazement. Both were skills for creating mechanical creatures: the former for creating blueprints, and the latter for directly solving the problem of low-level blueprint materials.

Without any hesitation, Zheng Mu chose to learn both skills. Eager to try out his new skills, he thought, "The scanning target needs to be 10 levels lower than me, which means I can only scan creatures of lv9 or below right now..."

Considering this, Zheng Mu's gaze began to search his surroundings. The aggressive creatures within the Night Beast Forest wouldn't do, as even the lowest level ones were above level 10. And so...

Zheng Mu looked up slightly, and in the next moment, various small animals, also influenced by the Blue Star's celestial rules and assigned levels, appeared before his eyes.

Butterfly lv1, mosquito lv1, snake lv3... eagle lv9.

Zheng Mu's eyes lit up, and he instantly stood up on a tree branch, using his Ghost Step skill to move effortlessly, like a graceful bird, leaping from branch to branch until he reached the top of the tree.

Standing on a thin branch, he remained stable and steady. Watching an eagle flying high in the sky, as fast as lightning, chasing an unknown wild bird, Zheng Mu didn't hesitate and activated his Biological Scan skill.

As a blue light, visible only to him, swept over the eagle, a notification appeared on his panel.

[Biological Scan lv1, successful activation, scanning target lv9 Eagle]

[Acquired white common-grade blueprint "Patrol Eagle"]

Upon seeing this new blueprint, Zheng Mu's eyes brightened. The materials required for a white common-grade mechanical creature were relatively simple.

Looking at the birds flying high in the sky, Zheng Mu suddenly pulled out his seldom-used Holy Land Demon Wolf weapon. In the next moment, accompanied by a series of rapid gunshots, Zheng Mu's panel displayed notifications of single-digit experience point gains. At the same time, several Lick Eaters were already heading towards the fallen bird corpses.

After a short while, a hundred white common-grade material orbs appeared before Zheng Mu.

White common-grade material [Bird's Eye], white common-grade material [Bird Corpse].

Without any hesitation, Zheng Mu unleashed his Nanomechanical Wave at the materials lying on the ground. After several circles of peculiar energy passed, the corpses were transformed into small mechanical components.

With Zheng Mu quickly assembling everything, fifty eagles with a faint metallic sheen covered the sky above the forest.

[Name: Patrol Eagle]

[Type: Mechanical Creature (Created by Mechanic Zheng Mu)]

[Grade: White Common]

[Durability: 50/50]

[Attack Power: 4-10]

[Defense Power: 5]

[Skill 1: "Eagle Eye", capable of accurately scouting targets below from an altitude of over 800 meters]

[Skill 2: "Bird's Nest", link with surrounding Patrol Eagles, construct a high-altitude surveillance network, and provide real-time coordinate feedback]

Zheng Mu, satisfied with his new creations, knew that he had just unlocked a new level of power. The sky was no longer a barrier; it would also have his eyes watching.
