Chapter 39

Alex woke up to the bright morning Mexico sun beaming through the window blinds. It shone directly into the one eye she had the strength to open, and the same midget from the day before returned to hammering inside her head. "Why do I keep doing this to myself?" she rumbled.

"Good morning, Sunshine," Peter said from the sofa across the room. He set the book he'd been reading onto the coffee table and rose to his feet.

Alex raked her gaze over him as he stood there in his canary yellow swim trunks with no shirt on to cover his sun-kissed, awesome thick chest and rippled abs. She lifted her gaze upward and couldn't help but notice the possessively satisfied look on his face. Why was he smiling like that?

"Morning," she replied before the memory of last night rushed back to her.

Oh...my...god.

The last thing she remembered was throwing herself at him and being tossed back.

"Shit!" she exclaimed, as she pulled the covers over her head in an attempt to hide.
