They are sick
Three weeks have passed, Ethan is increasingly unable to control his longing for Luna and his two babies. He vents that longing by continuing to work without regard to his health. The man works early in the morning and comes home at night, often goes out of town, and even visits abroad. His beard was already thick and his hair was a little longer than usual.
Ethan wanted to pick up Luna, but he was afraid it would make her even angrier because she hadn't asked her to pick him up. He didn't want to be hated even more and chose to let it be so he could find peace.
